Chapter 908 The Strongest Gang Division
Chapter 908 The Strongest Gang Division
In response, Jarett pondered and replied in agreement. "You're right. We must do what's necessary to protect our relationship with the Lawson Group."
"Wise words, Sir!" Mickey ingratiated himself with Jarett. "The Lawson Group is like a gold mine, and as long as we can keep them happy, we're going to have endless fortune and money coming our way."
Mickey was obsessed with milking the Lawson Family dry, but Jarett had other plans in mind. Deep down, the latter had been thinking of a way to start with a clean slate, shifting his focus to governmental positions and operations. Because of that, he had liquidated most of his illegal businesses as he knew his criminal career would not be sustainable despite his revered status in the underworld. After all, all the ill-gotten money he had made from his businesses had to be spent discreetly, if not, kept secretly. What was even worse was the fact that a word from the top was all it would take for his entire fortune to be frozen and taken away from him. Therefore, Jarett had planned to operate in the government while turning his businesses legal.
Nevertheless, little did anyone else know that Jarett's motive to join the government was actually to protect his businesses, which he deemed most important because they were crucial to his survival. Deep down, he wanted to transform from a criminal boss to a legitimate business tycoon for the sake of his future generations. After all, if he had to choose, he would rather see his children or grandchildren mismanage his company and go bankrupt than hide and run away from their enemies for the rest of their lives. For that, Jarett's first step was to venture into the commercial world by cooperating with the Lawson Family because that was the fastest way for him to get his business on the right track. Therefore, the Lawson Family was not only a gold mine to Jarett, but also a stepping stone for him to get closer to his goal.
This stepping stone is very important to me and my descendants. So, I must seize this chance and make good use of it!
At the thought of that, Jarett said, "Alright, I'll send the leader of Ivory Fang Sect to ensure Kendall's safety!"
"That's great. I'll contact Master Goff right away!" Mickey responded in agitation after hearing Jarett's decision.
The Cole Gang had four divisions under it, namely Dragonhood Sect, Crimson Beak Sect, Ivory Fang Sect, and Iron Scale Sect. However, among the four divisions, the Ivory Fang Sect was most well-known for the combat prowess of its members, who would often be dispatched when violence was involved. Therefore, Mickey didn't expect Jarett to send the leader of the Ivory Fang Sect to Kendall's aid. Needless to say, he was completely unaware of the latter's hidden agenda, as Jarett was only doing that for himself and his descendants rather than for Kendall.
Without wasting more time, Mickey immediately contacted the leader of the Ivory Fang Sect, Rayden. Upon gathering all the men, they proceeded to make their way to Leonardo's.
On the other hand, Kingsley, who was at Leonardo's, glanced at his watch and was apparently getting impatient. "How long has it been, Mr. Lawson? Is your 'reinforcement' on the way? I still have something important to talk to Miss Ansley about."
"Leave if you can't wait, but she stays! In fact, even if you want to leave, I doubt you can escape the Cole Gang anyway, so if you're a real man, stay behind and face them!" Kendall squinted and replied in an annoyed manner.
"Did I ever say I was going to leave?" A glacial look flashed across Kingsley's eyes. "I won't leave until I deal with you first. You just interrupted our reunion, so do you think you can just walk away like that as if nothing ever happened?"
As soon as Kingsley finished his words, Hillary was immediately able to read between the lines. Then, she raised her voice and started questioning the duo. "Your reunion? What do you mean? Did
you two know each other before this?" She pointed her finger at Yulia and snapped at her. "How could you, b*tch?! How dare you violate the contract and fool around with another man?! Let me get this straight with you! Right after we take care of this dude, you're going back with Mr. Lawson! The only way you can make it up to Mr. Lawson is to make him happy; otherwise, you're going to have to pay a huge sum of penalty!"
"No. I don't know him. I-I didn't know him before this…" Yulia explained herself in a panicky manner with an innocent look on her face.
"Don't lie to me!" Hillary cut Yulia's words short and added, "Why would he call it a reunion if you both didn't know each other?"
