The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 1954

"Did you really think you're such a big deal?!"

Even now, Stanwick's pompous insult before he died still rang in Silverbell's ears.

Moreover, Silverbell understood that although her position carried authority, she was at best a chess piece, in a game where multiple factions fought for political dominance.

Since there were not many matters she could involve herself with, she longer felt tied down.

She left with the elders without so much as looking back, although she subtly gave Frank's hand a squeeze when she walked past him.

As for the elder who had just warned Silverbell, he was stroking his beard and smiling as he announced, "I hereby announce in the chief's stead that Riverton's qualifying berths are forfeited, in light of the branch manager disguising an Ascendant-ranked elite to insert him in a Birthright-rank qualifier.

"The two forfeited berths would instead be made available to Zamri participants only."

Silverbell paused for a moment when she heard the announcement but soon continued onward like nothing happened.

The elder's announcement had a simple intent-everything would be blamed on a dead person, and the entire issue was hence concluded.

Then, the elder pointed at Heartfar, who was now not the man he once was.

"Take him away!" he bellowed. "The Martial Alliance shall punish him severely for his actions!"

"Yes, sir!"

Several Martial Alliance members strode up and carried Heartfar away like he was a limp dog.

However, Frank could still see the venomous spite in Heartfar's eyes before they left and lip read the words Heartfar was mouthing at him. "This isn't over yet! Just you wait!"

"Not over...?"

Frank's heart skipped a beat, as he felt the impulse to root out that problem on the spot.

However, seeing the Martial Alliance executives staring daggers at him, as well as Silverbell leaving without looking back, he ultimately hid his killing intent.

Now was not the time to act-if he did, Silverbell would be in trouble, considering her position as the chief of the Martial Alliance.

Even if he wanted Heartfar gone permanently, Frank could only clench his knuckle and watch as the Martial Alliance took him away.

And once they were gone, Mr. Zoran, who had gotten impatient from waiting, leapt forward, announcing "Hehe... Hence announced that the four remaining Zamri participants-1 mean, three, since one pulled

out are hence qualified!"

All the martial artists and audience members present turned toward Frank's group upon hearing that announcement, clapping and cheering.

Naturally, there were those on the Riverton side who were dissatisfied.

However, considering that Heartfar was an Ascendant-ranked elite, and Scarface managed to last several blows against him-and basically defeat him-his strength was not to be doubted.

In fact, the Riverton martial artists were well aware that even if they challenged Scarface now, they would only get beaten miserably. "Come on, Mr. Zoran-don't be so greedy."

Nheless, Frank noticed the

sullen mood among the Riverton martial artists and audience members and strode out with a smile. "Riverton and Zamri are basically one big family. And although my apprentices won their three berths fairly, there's still one open, no?

"The Riverton martial artists can therefore compete for it. Even if they are forfeited from the qualifiers, there's no rule against them joining as Zamri martial artists, is there?"

The Riverton martial artists and audience members lit up at Frank's words, many of them turning in excitement toward Mr. Zoran.

"Uh..."

Mr. Zoran hesitated for a moment, but he soon smiled. "Mr. Lawrence is right. The one remaining berth will be made available to Riverton participants, who will compete for it!"
