Chapter 32: Completely Vanished from City B
Chapter 32: Completely Vanished from City B
Lawrence lost his strength in an instant. He let go of his hand, stumbled and fell on the hospital bed.
“Mr. Harris!”
Jeffrey subconsciously reached for him, but Lawrence stopped him.
“Find her.” Lawrence closed his eyes and heavily spitted out these words.
When the car accident happened, the airbag was triggered just in time. Although the airbag managed
to slow down the force, Lawrence still injured his head. Now, his hair was cut short as his head was
wrapped in gauze. Lawrence’s facial feature was even more distinctive now, but his expressionless
face still looked scary.
“I don’t care how big or deep the Tulum Sea is, send someone to search for her. Bring her to me, dead
or alive. Even if the only remaining was her bones, I must see it with my own eyes!”
“Yes.”
Jeffrey remained silent for a moment and said to Lawrence in a low voice, “Mr. Harris, Evelyn is
missing.”
“Evelyn had disappeared as soon as Miss Garcia was in an accident. The Garcia Mansion was already
empty when we got there. When I wanted to continue investigating, Miss Miller’s side called to visit you
in the hospital after seeing the news that you had injured your leg.”
Jeffrey’s tone sounded a little guilty.
“After settling things with Miss Miller, I went to the places where Evelyn was often seen in the
surveillance camera. Several places had already been levelled, there wasn’t any trace left at all.”
“Expect for a few servants of the Garcia family, all those who have connections with Evelyn have
completely vanished from City B.”
Jeffrey wasn’t sure if that sentence had caught Lawrence’s attention, he suddenly looked up and gave
Jeffrey an intense stare. He asked hoarsely, “Why did those people know?”
“They were all old servants of the Garcia family. They were extremely tight-mouthed. It took me so long
to pry their mouth open. They only knew that five years ago, Miss Garcia was planning to leave with
her brother that night, but they were detained by Evelyn’s subordinates.”
She was planning to leave.
He had really misunderstood her...
But, it was too late now.
Five years ago, not knowing the truth, he didn’t save her.
Five years later, he still didn’t save her and her family.
Nonetheless, it was the harshest punishment in the world.
Lawrence raised his hand and laid it on his chest. He couldn’t ignore the sharp pain that he felt in his
heart.
“What else?” Lawrence’s voice was hoarse.
Jeffrey reluctantly took out a blue-coloured velvet box and passed it to Lawrence.
“This was found in the things that Miss Garcia had left. I saw the initials of your name engraved inside,
so I thought this might be something related with you...”
Seeing the familiar outline of the ring, Lawrence took a close look at it and he was immediately
stiffened after that.
This was his belonging.
It was the man design of a couple ring, and the other one was in the hands of Charlotte. When he
refused to leave City B that night five years ago, he sent someone to return it to her.
How much exactly could you love someone that you would still carry his thing by your side after
experiencing so many struggles and tribulation?
The answer was obvious.
Lawrence held the ring in his hand tightly. He seemed to have suppressed a huge emotion that the blue
veins on his forehead were visible.
He grasped the ring until it was out of shape and a drop of blood fell on the floor.
“Lotta, are you punishing me?”
...
Her throat was burning, and her body ached everywhere.
Charlotte groaned in pain and she struggled to open her eyes in the white light.
A luxurious crystal chandelier.
A soft quilt made of silk.
A magnificent room that was nicely decorated.
She could vaguely hear the sound of ocean waves outside through the half-opened window not far
away.
Other than the sharp pain on her body, everything in front of her looked particularly unreal.
Where was she?
Was she dead already?
