Confrontations
Hearing his name made my stomach churn, I felt like vomiting or dying, I didn't know what to feel anymore. I hadn't seen him since last night, feeling him near, knowing that he's around me gives me a scare or a strange joy; definitely, I was a first-class masochist. They all whispered while staring at me, it was obvious that half of the world knew he was my husband.
"You're very lucky to have such a specimen of a husband, he must be a god in bed," my seatmate commented, I just smiled out of politeness. I was looking at the ground when he started his speech.
"Dear graduates, today is a very important day in your lives. You have achieved a great goal and are ready to face new challenges. I want to congratulate you on your dedication and efforts to achieve it. You have shown that with perseverance, hard work, anything is possible. I know this because first of all, I was where you are now and secondly, because I saw my beloved wife suffer, study, make sacrifices to achieve her dreams. It's no secret that woman is my beloved wife. Congratulations, my love!"
Now, getting back to the point, the world is full of opportunities for you. There are new paths to explore and goals to reach. I encourage you to move forward with courage and determination. Have confidence in your abilities and be brave to pursue your dreams. Remember that your education is an invaluable treasure. Keep learning and growing in all aspects of your lives. Education doesn't end with graduation, it's a continuous process.
Once again, congratulations graduates. I'm sure you will have a bright future full of success. Go ahead and enjoy the journey! His eyes met mine and I swear to God I felt lost, it was just the two of us, as if everything around us disappeared. When I came back to reality, the director was calling my name, it was my moment.
I walked among my peers with sensuality and provocation, I knew he was watching me. I climbed the stairs of the stage with the help of the protocol team, to then stand facing the microphone. Serkan was behind me, I could feel the heat emanating from his body. I took the microphone and started speaking.
"My dear graduates, friends, acquaintances, and family. Today is a very special day for all of us. After years of effort, dedication, and sacrifice, we have finally reached the end of this important stage in our lives. I am honored to be the one giving this final speech to share this moment with you and congratulate you on your great achievement.
Since we started our different careers, we have had to face many challenges, we have had to overcome difficult exams, exhausting work, long hours of study, and moments of uncertainty. But through all of this, you have always maintained your focus, determination, and passion. And it is thanks to our hard work and perseverance that we are here today, ready to receive our graduate degree.
But this is not just a personal achievement, it is also an achievement for your families, friends, and all those who have supported you along the way. They have been your cornerstone, your encouragement, and your unconditional support. I want you to take a moment to thank them for everything they have done for you, and recognize that you wouldn't be here today without them.
Now, as you graduate, you will face new challenges and opportunities. Some of you will continue your studies, others will start a new career, and some will travel the world. But regardless of what you do next, always remember what you have learned here. Remember the importance of education, perseverance, and passion. Remember that anything is possible if you work hard and don't give up in the face of obstacles.
My dear graduates, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. I hope to see all of you achieve great things and make a positive difference in the world. Congratulations again on your great achievement. Today is your special day, enjoy it and celebrate everything you have accomplished. Thank you!"
The applause didn't take long to come, Serkan approached me, took my waist to place his hand on my belly, a clear sign of possession.
"Congratulations, my dear wife!" he said as he kissed my forehead.
"I would recommend you let me go if you don't want me to make a scene and leave you embarrassed in front of everyone," I responded with feigned happiness.
This time he listened to me, so he let me go gently and helped me return to my seat to wait for my diploma, when my name was heard giving me the signal to go up for my recognition, some applause could be heard in the distance, with a smile on my lips I turned to look at him, it was him, Omer.
I climbed onto the stage shaking hands with the university officials, but it was Serkan who handed me my diploma.
"Congratulations, my beloved! It is an honor for me to present you with your diploma, you are now an architect and I am sure that soon you will be the best landscape architect in the country."
I didn't say anything, I didn't even smile, I was angry with him, he couldn't come and go as if nothing was happening between us. The ceremony ended quickly and beautifully, as family members approached to congratulate their children, Omer appeared with his beautiful smile, taking me by the waist as he lifted me in the air, all worthy of a movie. All I did was laugh, feeling happy.
"Congratulations, Sam. I am proud of you. Come, let's go, I invite you to dinner."
"She won't go anywhere with you. If you know what's good for you, you better let her go," Serkan said as he approached us with feigned calm. "And what if I don't want to? Holy God! all hell would break loose."
