Your Highness's Beloved Medical-skilled Princess

Chapter 149 Autopsy

Chapter 149 Autopsy

The catcher hurriedly came, reporting, “Prince, your wife arrives.”

Yu Wenhao raised up his head and asked, “Princess?”

What was she doing here? It was already late at night. Why didn’t she go to sleep?

He got up to go outside, finding Lu Ya was supporting Yuan Qingling to get in.

He hurriedly came forward to hold her hands and remarked, “Why are you coming at such a late time?”

Yuan Qingling felt distressed when seeing his pale and exhausted face, saying, “The princess told me

the emperor instructed you to solve cases in seven days. Why didn’t you tell me such a big thing?”

Yu Wenhao comforted her in a gentle voice, “Don’t worry. The deadline hasn’t arrived. Besides, I am

confident to solve the case within seven days.”

Yuan Qingling knew he was lying. If he could really solve cases in seven days, he wouldn’t refuse to

come home.

Yu Wenhao led her in while Yuan Qingling remarked, “Although I am not good at solving cases, I know

some medical skills. Let me check the corpses. Maybe I will find some clues.”

“Check the corpses? No!” Yu Wenhao immediately denied her suggestion and remarked, “There is no

point for you to do this.”

Those people had been died for several days. Although the morgue had used ices to keep the bodies

fresh, they already got swollen up and let off terrible smell. How could Yuan Qingling bear that smell?

“But you haven’t made any progress yet, have you? Don’t try to lie to me.” Yuan Qingling remarked.

“Trust me. Everything will be alright.” Yu Wenhao found his own words were too unreasonable to stop

her.

After sending Yu Qingling to the bedroom, Yu Wenhao told her to have a good rest on the arhat bed.

Afterwards, he scolded Lu Ya for not taking a good care of his wife.

Yuan Qingling was grateful that Yu Wenhao cherished her a lot, but they were already married couples

now and should share the burden together. Therefore, she felt really helpless to her husband’s

behaviour.

However, she couldn’t stick to convince him because he really looked annoyed by the cases.

Yuan Qingling changed a place to go to sleep, while Yu Wenhao was still busy in the office.

Xu Yi obeyed Yu Wenhao’s command to stop her from running outside.

However, Yuan Qingling couldn’t fall asleep. She finally decided to let Lu Ya bring Xu Yi here.

Xu Yi got more prudent after Yuan Qingling almost got assassinated.

He no longer showed his teasing and innocent expression, but asked in a serious manner, “Princess,

do you have any instructions?”

“Xu Yi!” Yuan Qingling looked at him and also asked in a serious way, “Do I treat you well?”

Xu Yi replied gratefully, “Of course. If it weren’t you who begged for mercy last time, it would be hard for

me to work for the prince.”

Yuan Qingling immediately said, “Yes. It’s good for you to remember it. I have helped you once and you

have to pay back. How about that?”

Xu Yi clasped his hands together and remarked, “Princess, you don’t have to ask for help. I will follow

everything you say.”

“You don’t have to do that. Just take me to the morgue.” Yuan Qingling remarked.

Xu Yi got astonished and asked, “Princess, what are you doing in the morgue? It’s an unlucky place.

Besides, prince will definitely punish me if he finds out.”

Yuan Qingling looked at him and noted, “Why do you have to tell the prince? Just bring me there.

Prince won’t find out if I haven’t verified anything, but if I have, you will render outstanding service.”

“No, I don’t want to do that.” Xu Yi replied firmly.

Yuan Qingling slowly walked towards him. She looked at him and shook her head, saying, “Xu Yi, I

never expect you to be this kind of person. So ungrateful.”

Xu Yi shook his head and argued helplessly, “I am not.”

“I have helped you once, but when I am in trouble, you’re the one who don’t lend a hand. This is called

ingratitude.”

Xu Yi was in a dilemma. He didn’t know what to do when seeing the princess’ cold and angry face.

Lu Ya also came forward to convince him and remarked, “Xu Yi, the prince gets bothered a lot by the

cases. Maybe the princess can help. Just do her a favour this time. Besides, if the prince really finds

out, you can say that is the princess’s order and you can’t go against it.”

Xu Yi thought the prince would really kill him if he found out.

However, it was true that the cases didn’t have any progress. The princess really made lots of miracles

these days. Maybe she would find some clues if she went to have a check.

Thinking of this, Xu Yi raised of his head and said, “Fine, but you can’t stay long. Although no one

guards the morgue, there will still be people on patrol duty. They will definitely report it to the prince if

they find you.”

“Yes!” Yuan Qingling promised him and said to Lu Ya, “Keep an eye here. Tell the prince I went to the

bathroom if he drops by.”

“Ok, I know.” Lu Ya replied.

Xu Yi carried the lantern to lead Yuan Qingling out.

The morgue was on the left back side of the government. It was around fifty square metres with thick

walls and two windows, but they all remained close.

Two lanterns were hanging outside during the night time. Dim red light came out, making the front door

look red as blood, extremely creepy.

Xu Yi got scared when he came close. He looked at Yuan Qingling and asked, “Princess, aren’t you

afraid?”

“There is nothing to be afraid of.” Yuan Qingling got in and remarked, “Guard here. Tell me if someone

comes close.”

“I will follow you in.” Xu Yi was afraid that Yuan Qingling would be frightened when she got in. Although

Yuan Qingling told him she got nerve, he bet no one wouldn’t be frightened in this scene. Anyway,

there were lots of scary corpses inside.

“No. You will only get in my way.” Yuan Qingling grabbed his lantern. She directly closed the door and

blocked Xu Yi outside.

The smell let off by the corpses were strong. Yuan Qingling wore three masks, but that smell still got in

her nose. She opened the window to let the air in and to spread out the smell.

The smell was so strong that she had to restrain her feeling to vomit. She opened the medicine kit to

find if there were all tools to carry out the autopsy.

There were scalpels, magnets, sprays and a flashlight.

Every time when she wanted to do something and there happened to be her needed tools or medicine

show up in the kit, she would get encouraged.

Her tight nerve finally loosened up when finding there were some simple tools. She thought she could

make a progress in this autopsy.

Eight corpses from two families showed up when she uncovered the white cloth. The corpses weren’t

properly kept. Three of them already got bloated cadaver.

This kind of corpse swelled up with eyes popping out and blood leaking out from nose and mouth. Its

arms and legs were thick with green skin. It looked extremely creepy if one suddenly glanced at it.

It was not the first time for Yuan Qingling to see bloated cadaver. However, with eight bodies lying in

front of her and three of them already got bloated cadaver, she still felt frightened at the first sight.

She tied up the flashlight around her head to spare her hands to examine the bodies thoroughly.

The bodies got lots of injuries. Almost eight to twelve evident injuries on each body. Although all of

them were not fatal, if they weren’t handed properly, people would still lose their lives because of

excessive loss of blood.

However, it could be told that excessive loss of blood couldn’t explain for the cause of death.

It would take time if they died because of excessive loss of blood, but those people were all instant

dead, such as sudden death and choking.

Judging from the injures, those cause were also not the cause of death.

Then what actually were their cause of death?
