Chapter 12 The Herbal Tea
Chapter 12 The Herbal Tea
It didn’t take long before she felt warmth from her stomach, which made her feel much more
comfortable.
Nurse Qi whispered, "Your Grace, when you’re back from the palace, I’ll help you get recover soon.
Now you might want to close your eyes and rest for a while. You’ll soon feel better."
Yuan Qingling closed her eyes, feeling sparks blazing and exploding in her mind, with massive sounds
echoing.
"Hate? Who do you think you are? I’m just disgusted with you because you're no better than a fly from
the trench. I have to take drugs to get through the night with you.“
It was PrinceWenhao's voice, which was filled with resentment and hatred. Never had she heard such
heartbreaking words before.
There was also a voice whispering by her ears, and then the sparks in her mind turned into a puddle of
blood.
A moment later, everything settled down.
She felt as if everything finally became clear now.
The pain gradually eased; or to be specific, instead of disappearing, it was replaced with numbness.
She opened her eyes and saw Lv Ya looking at her by the bed.
“Your Grace, are you feeling better now?” Lv Ya asked at once.
“The pian’s gone,” said Yuan Qingling in a hoarse voice.
She indeed couldn’t feel any pain because she was terribly numb. She pinched her cheeks, but there
was nothing she could feel.
She felt under anesthetic.
"Then I’ll help you wash and get dressed, or His Highness will be angry." Lv Ya reached out to help her.
Nurse Qi also came in from outside with new clothes in her hands. Seeing her get up, she said, "Time,
My Lady, His Highness is waiting."
Yuan Qingling stood numbly, allowing them to change her clothes. She couldn’t feel a thing because
her wound had been bandaged.
When they finished, she sat in front of a bronze mirror and stared at her reflection in the mirror.
She had carved features and fair skin, however, his eyes under her long and curvy eyelashes looked
so dull and lifeless.
Her lips were dry and pale. Her hair was disheveled, covering her wide forehead. The face was fair, but
it didn’t look glossy at all.
Fortunately, Nurse Qi and Lv Ya were so skillful. After their minutes’ work on her face. The woman in
the mirror had changed greatly. Now she has arched eyebrows, red lips, and charming slanted eyes.
She opened her eyes widely to make herself look more energetic.
"What’s the herbal tea?" Yuan Qingling’s voice still sounded hoarse.
“Your Grace, you don’t remember?” Lv Ya was surprised.
Qingling did have forgotten. Her brain is packed with memories that didn’t belong to her, and they were
entangled with her own ones. She was still too weak to tell which were which.
But she didn't ask again. Lv Ya’s answer suggested that she should be able to figure out the name on
her own if she calm down and think about it.
Anyway, she was sure that there must be something bad about the tea.
She stood up and took a few steps. Her wounds didn’t hurt at all, but she could only move slowly
because of the numbness.
"Your Grace, even if it doesn't hurt anymore, you still need to be careful not to rip off your wounds while
waking," said Nurse Qi.
"Is Huo feeling any better now?" Yuan Qingling asked as she held on to the door frame and looked
back.
Nurse Qi was taken aback, and she quickly replied, “Yeah, much better.”
Yuan Qingling stared outside at the sky. The sun was there minutes ago, but now it was all cloudy. A
rainstorm was approaching.
“I’m so sorry for what happened to him,” she said in a low voice that was almost too faint to be heard.
Nurse Qi and Lv Ya looked at each other, eyes taken over by confusion.
She just apologized. They wondered if they had heard it wrong.
Yuan Qingling walked out slowly. She was not yet used to the fancy wearings. The numb body caused
unsteady steps, making her stumble. She hide her hands in the sleeves, and suddenly felt something
inside. She stopped and took it out to have a look, only to feel stunned upon seeing what it was.
