Chapter 22: Sharing A Song
Chapter 22: Sharing A Song
The room became silent. The man lowered his head, looking at his empty embrace.
In his heart, a feeling of sadness flowed.
Outside, the little fellow played with his mother for quite a while before falling asleep in her arms.
She gently placed the tiny angel in the crib and kissed his sweet little face before getting up and leaving him nice and quiet.
The man was a little surprised and confused.
Normally, Caroline would not come to the bedroom so early.
Today, she seemed to be doing it on purpose.
He felt the bed beside him suddenly crumbled, and then a familiar female figure appeared.
Caroline seemed to have no idea how to convince the man beside her.
In fact, she only knew very little about him and had only known him for more than a year.
They were nothing more than just buddies.
Despite the fact that they had spent a lot of time around each other, there had never been any real soul connection before.
She paused for a moment before beginning to speak.
"Today, I visited my sister's grave."
Caroline said, "I felt that she knew that I had avenged her.She should be at peace in the future."
The man's only response to her was silence.
"By the way, I happened to pass by a hot pot restaurant today and saw that there was a long line at the entrance."
Caroline made a few attempts to make the conversation longer.
After she had finished speaking, she suddenly felt that she was completely embarrassed, because she had never seemed to say these words to him before.
It looked like they hadn't even talked to each other for a long time.
"You've really talked a lot today."
The man, however, appeared to have noticed something.
"Why?" he asked.
Caroline took a deep breath and then replied, in a relaxed manner, "I feel very happy since I have finally avenged my sister."
Then she turned to him and said, "Is there anything you want to tell me?"
After a few moments, the man replied contemptuously, "Nothing."
Caroline exhaled softly to herself. She had no idea how to get this man to open up.She moved her body closer to him and stretched her hand.
"You were just listening to music, right? Would you please listen to it for me?"
But, as she reached out her hand, she unknowingly held his hand, not the earphone cord. His palms were dry and warm, much bigger than hers.
The two of them seemed to be stunned.
Immediately after, Caroline let go of his hand and said with an embarrassed smile, "I didn't see it"
They had done more intimate things before, but holding each other's hands made their ears turn red right now.
"Did Doctor Wilson say something to you?" The man suddenly asked.
Caroline toughened up and immediately denied it.
"No, he said, let me take good care of you and make you feel happy"
"Nothing." The man said indifferently.
Finally, he had lost all suspicion.
Caroline sighed contentedly. She thought of something and stood up, saying, "I heard a song that day.It sounds very nice.Wait for me to get my phone."
She got out of bed and walked outside afterwards.
Caroline picked up her phone and plugged in the earphone cord. She returned to the bedside after playing a song. She sat down beside the man and gave him one of the earplugs.
"Do you want to hear this?" she asked.
The man took it and put it into his ear.
So, with the gentle music, a captivating male voice could be heard.
"This story begins with one person. I'm serious and wrote it for us.No one turned around during this period of fate. You also began to revise the script to make it more important for me."
"You were originally alone in this existence."
"You insisted on staying together until you became us.All the future, you agreed to wait together. The oath of youth has taken root, and your desire is deeper than anyone else's."
"Enter the door, turn on the lights, a family. The hands of the child, so gentle, walking side by side forever. You are affectionate, gaze at me and say, happiness is that you have me…”
