Winning Her Heart Again

Chapter 45: Be Carefull

Chapter 45: Be Carefull

How could he talk to me like he didn't hurt me? He really had guts.

"I am not heartless!" I firmly said, which made him stop. I was shocked by my actions. I quickly composed myself. I stood straight and looked into his eyes.

"I'm sorry," he said while placing the box on the table. I let out a sigh to calm myself.

"No, I'm sorry, Mr. White, for my reaction. It's just that people tend to say words that could hurt others' feelings without knowing that the person who's saying those words is the one who is heartless and merciless. "I emphasize the last three words. It made him quiet, but he never broke his stare at me.

I felt his silence like he was scared to say something that might offend me again. He shouldn't have to worry. I'm immune to his hurtful words. I looked at him, and I could see Adam's apple moving up and down.

"Next time, I'll be careful," he said, and I am not comfortable with the way he looks at me.

"Excuse me, Sir, but I still have things to do" I'm about to leave him when he holds my hand.

I look at him and at his hand. What is he doing?

"What do you want to tell me?" I asked as he slowly let go of my hand.

"I will only accept your apology when you treat me to lunch" I knotted my forehead because of what he said. But to make things equal I don't have to consider that he helps me even if I do not want to. I still agree. "Where do you want to go?" He asked me while he was driving. He even insisted that we should just be in the same car.

"As I remember, you said you wanted me to treat you to lunch," I said, and he just nodded while he was still smiling. When he heard that I agreed, he kept smiling at me.

He stopped at an expensive restaurant and he even opened the door of his car for me.

"Be careful," he Initiated to hold my hand like I'm a patient who needs help.

I tried to get my hand back but he didn't let me.

"My hand," I uttered. He acted like he didn't hear me say it. I tried to get it, but I knew he was just pretending that he was looking for something.

"Travis!" I pinch him using my free hand, and he looks at me with those innocent eyes.

"What?" He asked while we were walking inside the restaurant.

"Welcome Ma'am and sir, This way please" one of the waitresses said while I glared at Travis but he just shrugged his shoulders.

"what a lovely couple " I heard an old woman said that made me puke. We're not a couple and will never be

"My hand, or else I will leave you here" I threatened him and made him let go of my hand.

I sat on the chair when I noticed that he was about to offer me one.

The waitress asked for our orders, and since Travis demanded this, he should have been the one to order, not me.

After how many minutes our order was already served.

He started eating and I did the same because I'm also hungry. I didn't even expect that their dishes here are delicious. That is why I didn't notice that I ate too much while Travis was already done, and he's now watching me eat. "What?" I irritatedly said, but he just smiled at me. I didn't mind him and continued eating. When I was done, I looked at the plates, and they were now empty.

He chuckled when he heard me burping.

Stop laughing!" I rolled my eyes and I asked the waitress for the bill.

I was not surprised when I saw how much it is. But when I am about to pay, Travis swiped his card instead of mine.

"Thank you, sir," the waitress said before leaving.

"I am supposed to pay that. I thought this was my treat?" I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at him.

"I can't let women pay for my lunch," he said, which made me chuckle sarcastically.

Actually, this is the first time in years that I heard that again.

When we got married, he always treated me and cared for me, but as years passed, everything went in a different way. He never dates me, he never asks me to go out or even asks me what I want to eat if want something that he should bring for me. Those things were gone years ago.

I even thought that he just married me because that's what his heart wanted, but then, as we grew older, he realized that he actually didn't love me and regretted marrying me. Because he was young that day, he never thought of how I would feel when he kept on ignoring me when he let his family hurt me, mock me, and even watch me that night

bleeding.

I was so heartbroken, I was in pain, I was so empty that night and scared that my baby would be gone. He never took action; instead, he just held his fiance's waist, showing me how worthless I was to him.

I'm mad at him, even though I didn't see him for many years. I can't control myself when he tries to act like nothing happened in the past.

"Are you alright?" He tried to reach for my hand but I didn't let him.

"I'll just go to the restroom," I said and went there to fix myself. But when I went outside of the restroom I saw Paul. He was surprised when he saw me.

"Jasmine?" He called my name and I just smiled at him.

"You are here," I said while walking back to the table but I couldn't find Travis there.

'Yes, I have a meeting but it's done, by the way do you have someone here?" He asked me, and I was about to answer his question when I saw Travis at the exit door talking to a girl, it was Stacy, and they were

in

the middle of a heated argument.

I do not want trouble. That's why I asked Paul if he could drive me to the office and he happily agreed.

When we walk on that door I saw Travis and hes about to talk to me but I didn't look at him and pretended that I am talking to Paul while Stacy is glaring at me.

We shouldn't be here and I shouldn't agree with him.
