Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 306

Chapter 306 Only You Are Allowed on My Bed

Cedric saw the mark on her fair skin as she pulled the blanket. It was proof of just how crazy they were last night. At the next moment, his brow furrowed. He could hear hurried footsteps. Then, someone swung open his door. “Are you alright, Mr. Cedric?”

Baz took the earliest flight to Maya Cove when he couldn’t get through to his boss for the entire night. Cedric moved fast in the split second Baz was opening the door. He tugged at the blanket so it would conceal her feet.

Cedric looked so gloomy that he was about to eat someone alive.

Baz didn’t exactly realize it. He thought he could just make out a woman sleeping on his bed. Shocked, he asked his boss, “Did some lady get on your bed again, Mr. Cedric? I'll kick her out right now!”Contents belong

Baz was very faithful to his duty. However, Cedric gave him a terrifying look that made him freeze.

“It'll be the last thing you do!”

Baz was even more confused by that. He thought Cedric loved some other lady now.

“Get out!” Cedric shouted coldly.

Baz knew his place. So, he didn’t press. Instead, he nodded. “I'll take my leave now!” Then he dashed out the door. He was closing it when Cedric said, “I want you to go outside and bite the curb. I'll be out in a minute.”

Baz paused for a few seconds. He's wholly puzzled now. Why did Cedric ask him to do it? “lm on it.” Baz answered and closed the door shut.

Maia opened her eyes slowly after Baz was gone and locked gazes with Cedric. Something stirred in his heart. She might look calm, but her heart was leaping as well.

“Did another lady get on your bed once, Cedric?” She questioned him as if she were his legitimate wife. It made him pause for a few seconds.

Wasn't she supposed to hate him and stab him in the chest again after she woke up? Why was. it different from last time?

Maia covered herself with the blanket when she saw that he wouldn’t say anything. They were in the nude, after all. Then she reached out and poked at his left chest.

“Didn't you say no one could compare to me? Didn't you say that you love me? What’s taking you so long to answer? From the looks of things, another lady did get on your bed. Did she succeed in sleeping with you, too?” Maia frowned and continued to question him.

Cedric was amused. He smiled and gave his most loving stare. Maia held the blanket and was about to leave the bed when Cedric caught her arm.

He chuckled and said, “No one slept with me. My bed is reserved for you and you only.” Maia frowned. “Did | say anything about wanting to get on your bed?”

“It's fine. | can get on your bed.”

“Are you that shameless?”

He slipped into his pajamas and held her in his embrace. “I'll be as shameless as possible if that’s what it takes to win your heart and marry you again.”

His wife mattered more than anything. A man’s pride was worth nothing before the love of his life.

“What do you think you’re doing, Cedric? Let me go. | still haven’t forgiven you!” Maia tried to break free, but he simply held on too tightly!

“You said | have a place in your heart. That means you've mostly forgiven me. Don’t you agree?” He asked her and tightened his hold on her. Maia lowered her gaze. She was trying

hard to be honest with herself.

“I'm not going to deny it, Cedric. | had two goals in mind when | first returned to Prismara. I’d bring Starlight Entertainment back to its former glory and become the biggest company in the industry.

“Aside from that, I’m also on a quest for revenge. I’m going to let the people who hurt me have a taste of their own medicine. Their pain would be a thousandfold more unbearable than the ones | felt in the past.

Maia couldn't help but clench her fists. The old hatred flooded her heart and something shifted in her eyes. Cedric sensed it and released her. Instead, he took her hands in his as a sign of support.

Some time had passed before Maia relaxed her fists and said, “However, you messed me up. | thought | was strong enough to reject you, but you sacrificed yourself for me one too many times. | pushed you away and pretended | wasn’t affected by your selfless actions a lot of times, but my heart isn’t made of stone.

“| was hurt one too many times, but you told me back in Stonebrook you've regained your memories. | kept telling myself not to trust the word of a drunken man. You were intoxicated. You were talking nonsense.

“However, you told me once again that you’re back for real. You asked me if | still needed you. From that point on, | knew | might lose my head. However, | was merely fooling myself. Perhaps I’ve fallen in love with you again a long time ago. | just didn’t want to admit it.”

She could fool herself, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

“You might not have mistreated me the way they did, but you turned a blind eye to my situation and left me to rot. Rita and Zera might've caused me great pain, but the pain of flesh doesn’t hold a candle to the pain in my heart.

“You've ignored and treated me coldly countless times. You’re the reason | couldn't pick myself up again and withstand their assault. You're the reason | couldn’t love you the way i did again.”

Cedric was the last straw.

She could bear the stress and the pain the other people gave her because she loved him, but she couldn't do it if he didn’t love her back. The stress and the pain would be intensified by a thousandfold to the day she was undone.

“In fact, there’s no reason for me to love you again. Once a mirror is shattered, you can never get it back to its original state, despite your best efforts.

“It's like my heart was broken into pieces. You can try to piece it back but the cracks will always be there. Every line of crack represents the pain that I’ve gone through in the past. You might still have a place in my heart, but | can’t just move on from the pain...”
