Whispers Of Betrayal (Anastasia and Alastor)

Chapter 150

Chapter 150

“You said she was the one who plotted against you and pestered you. You don’t have deep feelings for her, so let her leave the company to raise the baby and stay away from our life until Grandma Andrea dies.” Anastasia only had one request.

In fact, she did not have much hope for Alastor.

“What about Jason? What are you going to do?” Alastor asked Anastasia.

He could not meet Felicia, but could Anastasia not meet Jason?

“Before you confirm your feelings, I still need to explain. In the video sent by Sienna, I wasn’t a volunteer. There is no improper relationship between Xavier and me or Jason and me. Jace disappeared many years ago. When I went to Atharia to find Kimberly, I coincidentally encountered Jason. That was our first reunion.”

Anastasia explained for the last time before ending this relationship completely.

Alastor believed what she said, and if he didn’t believe her, there was nothing she could do.

“If you still don’t trust me and can’t tell what kind of relationship we will have after Grandma Andrea passes away, please keep your promise and get the divorce certificate with me.”

Anastasia was uncertain whether she had offered Alastor an opportunity or granted one to herself.

“As for Jason, I will handle it well. Please don’t interfere in his life, whether it is his business or personal life.” Anastasia wanted an exact answer from Alastor.

“Anastasia, when you agreed to give us another chance, do you genuinely want to move forward with me, or are you afraid that I might take action against Jason, leaving you no choice but to compromise with my demands?” Alastor asked helplessly.

Anastasia was also helpless. “I told you, I have no feelings for Jason except sibling love. I treat him as my younger brother. He once saved my life and went to the juvenile detention center. Because of me, he confronted Harold, who had harmed me.”

This was her last explanation.

In the past, Anastasia also read some Billionaire Romance novels. In the stories, the female protagonists were often misunderstood but never spoke up to explain.

She would feel baffled and find it implausible, wondering why something that a straightforward explanation could resolve was allowed to develop into a misunderstanding.

When it happened to Anastasia, she realized she wasn’t the heroine in a Billionaire Romance. She had explained, but Alastor didn’t believe her at all.

It was hard to change a person’s perspective once he held a prejudice against someone. Especially Alastor, who suffered from severe mysophobia and was extremely sensitive. He would rather believe the lies made up by people around him than Anastasia’s words. “Anastasia, don’t you have any sincere friends?” Alastor asked meaningfully.

Anastasia was stunned for a moment. “What do you mean?”

“Nothing…” Alastor shook his head.

Anastasia was silent for a moment before she spoke. “I’m not good at socializing, and Xavier is the only male friend I felt comfortable talking to. Apart from Kimberly, I don’t have any sincere friends.”

Perhaps, something was wrong with her personality, so she did not have many sincere friends or people who wanted to love

her.

Nonetheless, Anastasia always felt that having too many friends wasn’t necessary. One was enough.

‘We’ve reached the station.” The subway had arrived at its destination, and Anastasia got off the train.

Alastor followed behind Anastasia and looked at the time. “The housekeeper asked for leave today. I have to go back and take care of Grandma. I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning.”

He still hoped that Anastasia would return to their home after four years.

Anastasia thought for a while and nodded. “Okay.”

She agreed.

Since it wouldn’t be long.

Anastasia knew that Alastor couldn’t hold on much longer.

He couldn’t pass that emotional hurdle.

When he truly gave up, it was good for them.

“Tomorrow… Let’s buy ingredients together. I know a fresh grocery store that doesn’t need to queue up.” Alastor took the initiative to hold Anastasia’s hand and sent her out of the subway.

Anastasia was familiar with the fresh grocery store that Alastor mentioned. The ingredients were imported and could be delivered to the doorstep, but the prices were somewhat high.

Before this, Anastasia didn’t consider it necessary, so she used to visit the farmer’s market.

“Okay.”

Since it was what Alastor wanted, she should be as obedient as before.

“I have instructed the bank to unfreeze your card. You can use it at will except for Jason.”
