Two Times the Charm

Chapter 357

Chapter 357

“Mr. Melendez, we’ve found what looks like Aiden and Alex’s footprints out in the suburban grassland.”

“Which way did they go? Get after them!”

“They were heading towards the city, but once we chased after them, their footprints disappeared by the road. Looks like they hopped into a car here because their shoe soles were muddy. If they continued to walk, they would have left some marks, but there’s nothing by the road.”

“Keep looking! Check every single car don’t miss a one! See if they’ve got two kids with them!”

“Right, Mr. Melendez.”

After hanging up, Patrick hurried over, “What’s up? Any news about Aiden and Alex?”

“We found their footprints, and they were indeed coming to find me at the company

Hearing this, Patrick glared at Sophia. It was rare for him to be this angry at his wife.

Emmett also said, “This is all your fault! You insisted on having the kids meet their birth mother and wouldn’t let them contact me. They might be lost now because they were trying to find me. Is this what you wanted? If anything happens to them, I swear, you’ll pay!”

“You’ll make me pay? What can you do? Just kill me now. I don’t want to live anyway! Sophia felt wronged. “None of you have ever supported me! Not my son, not you! What did I do wrong? I’m just looking out for the kids! Everybody knows stepmoms can’t compare to real moms!”

Patrick took a deep breath, “You’re just making a scene! Their family is very harmonious. Why do you always stir up trouble?”

“Stir up trouble? I’m their grandmother! Shouldn’t I be considering their wellbeing? Now that there’s trouble, you’re blaming me! If you had listened to me, none of this would have happened!”

“Enough!” Emmett suddenly shouted, “Stop fighting!”

Startled, Sophia stepped back and fell silent.

Patrick opened his mouth to say something but finally just sighed.

“Arguing now is pointless; we need to find the kids! If anything happens to them, all this bickering won’t be worth a damn!”

Emmett frowned, didn’t say anything, and turned to leave.

Behind him, Sophia collapsed on the ground and started crying, “What did I do wrong? Why is fate so cruel to me? I just wanted the kids to grow up in a better

environment.”

Patrick looked at his wife; he was about to scold her, but seeing her like this, he felt pity.

He bent down and helped his wife up, “You’re not young anymore. Don’t you understand the importance of family harmony? With Clara in our family, the atmosphere has always been harmonious. Why do you insist on ruining it?”

Sophia looked up at her husband and frowned.

“But she’s not our family, after all; the kids aren’t related to her. You think it’s fine now, but what about in the future? If our son has other children with her, they may be part of the Melendez family, but what about Aiden and Alex?”
