True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2266

Chapter 2266

"Pfft!" Claudia could not help but to burst into laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" The lady scowled at Claudia in confusion before she looked at Sebastian, who had been composed, and frowned. "I think the both of you are scammers. You are in cahoots with each other, aren't you?"

"Did you not figure it out until now?" Claudia added naturally, "Of course we're on the same side. Didn't you see that he and I know each other?" "Needless to say, I'm aware that you two are on the same side." Claudia's words seemed to have raised the lady's hackles, causing her to be on the verge of exploding with fury and embarrassment. "Are you two little guys lying to me?"

"You've already considered us as scammers. Even if we deny it, I'm afraid you won't believe it," Claudia said, "Since that's the case, there's nothing to explain."

"Hmph, don't be so pretentious." The lady shot daggers at Claudia. "I'm asking you a question. You' better behave yourself." "Naha." Claudia began chortling. "Miss, didn't you say that we're scammers just now? You want to call the police, don't you? Why don't you make the call now? Hurry up and call the police. We might as well let the police verify if we're scammers."

Anyway, Claudia's top priority then was to get the police and stall for some time.

With that, she lifted her chin slightly and gazed at the direction of Sebastian's.

He was also focusing his dark eyes on her while wearing a faint smile.

Claudia's heart skipped a beat. For some reason, she experienced a pang of guilt.

After that, Claudia realized that her emotional intelligence was rather abysmal. She reminded herself, "I mustn't be fearful."

Obviously, Sebastian was a scammer, and he was deceiving the lady then.

It could be said that the evidence was conclusive.

Therefore, there was nothing to feel guilty about. Besides, she did not lie.

She had long known Sebastian, hence saying that they were on the same side was not a lie.

Anyhow, they knew each other.

Since they were involved in the mess, they might as well be the "scammers" together.

Sebastian had expected Claudia to speak so long ago.

He was sure that Claudia had made up her mind to stop him from disturbing Kendrix and Sylvia.

He knew what was going on in her mind.

He could not help finding it humorous. Sylvia had indeed befriended a decent bestie.

To be able to help Sylvia like that, Claudia had proven herself to be a loyal friend.

It seemed that it would be a little difficult for him to investigate what was happening over Sylvia's side that day.

Claudia had put in so much effort, which made him feel a little reluctant to continue to expose her.

"I've to call the police." Hearing that, the lady held her phone immediately and called the police. "Hello, is it the police station? I want to report a case. There are two scammers here. Come and check on them as soon as possible. The address is..."

She really called the police.

What was surprising was that Sebastian did not blow a gasket. Consequently, Claudia gaped at him in puzzlement.

He actually did not flip out, but just let the lady call the police.

Claudia wondered whether he also agreed to the idea of calling the police.

Sebastian's reaction once again refreshed her impression of him. She felt that he should not have responded in such way.

But then, the lady had already called the police. According to the conversation through the phone, the police was going to arrive soon.

It meant that her goal had been achieved.

As her goal had been achieved, there was no need to be anxious.

It would take about an hour from calling the police to sorting out the issue.

She should have created enough space and time for Kendrix and Sylvia with that one hour's time.

For the sake of those two lovebirds, she had done everything she could.

She was even treated as a scammer to protect them. If the news was circulated, she would end up with egg on her face.

Claudia felt extremely indignant and proud at the same time.

In any case, Sebastian did not win.

She landed her eyes on him again.

Concurrently, the boy was still staring at her.

His eyes were as dark as ink, giving people a sense of soul-stirring feeling.

In a trance, Claudia shook her head.

He said, "You've tried so hard to stall for time. Claudia, your objective has been accomplished."

Claudia froze to hear that. She then raised her head and gazed at him, saying, "All this stems from you. If you didn't confiscate my phone, wouldn't have asked someone to lend me a phone and been viewed as a scammer."

"So, is it all my fault?" Sebastian asked calmly.

Claudia nodded seriously. "Of course, don't tell me that you think it's because of me."

"You really excel twisting the truth." Sebastian cracked a smile and remarked, "It isn't really wrong to say that you're a cammer."

"You're a fine one to talk! It isn't

wrong either to say that you're a scammer Mr. 25." Claudia beamed at him while riposting, "The matter

regarding age must be concerning you. That was why you lied to this lady."

Upon hearing that, his sharp gaze was swept over to Claudia. Claudia was stunned as it turned out that she had guessed it correctly.

He cared very much about his age.

Claudia found it a little amusing. It seemed that his age had been troubling him a lot, but she did not view it as a problem.

In Claudia's opinion, perhaps the reason why he cared so much about the age was her. However, as she thought deeper, she felt that she had overestimated her charm.

Could that be the reason?

She had a hunch that he had been having a good impression of her, but due to age disparity, he had been suppressing his feelings. Otherwise, why would he refuse to leave her alone earlier?

The discovery had greatly amazed Claudia, but on second thought, she repudiated the speculation right away.

It was a little too much of a wishful thinking.

The two of them faced each other without speaking.

The lady, who had just called the police, was also waiting there.

"Just you two wait. The police will come right away. They'll judge you two scammers." The lady seemed to have not gotten over it yet, still filled with

anger.

Finally, Sebastian replied, "Do you

mean we are defrauding you of your

phone in the restroom of a dessert shop? Madam, how poor are you to bother so much about a phone? Nowadays, everyone owns a phone, and some people even possess several phones. Who do you think we are? Even if we want to trick you, we wouldn't have done it at the door of the dessert shop's restroom."

His tone then was very sharp, and the corners of his mouth curled up into a sardonic smile.

From the looks of it, he was furious.

Although he did not express his fury directly, there was an innately imposing aura about him.

Such aura was overwhelming, making people dare not look straight at him.

The lady was rendered stupefied shortly before she glowered at Sebastian in a fit of pique.

"I don't care if you're scammers or not. Now that I've called the police, we have to wait for the police to arrive."

"If we're not scammers, get ready to receive an attorney's letter since you'll be liable for defamation," Sebastian spoke in a heavy and harsh tone.

Intimidated by him, the lady stepped back.

Sebastian did not give her any chance. He took a step forward and took Claudia's police ID from her hand.

The lady allowed him to snatch away the ID without daring to speak.

After Sebastian took it, he was not in a hurry to return it to Claudia. Instead, he flipped it open and took a look at it.

There was a passport-sized photo printed on it. Generally, such a photo would reflect a person's facial features clearly. The ID photo was sometimes a magical mirror, which could remove all the beauty filters one could have otherwise.

However, looking at the photo, Sebastian realized that the girl on it was so graceful and gorgeous.

Her hair was drawn back into a ponytail. She had no bangs, and her smooth forehead had been revealed. It made her palm-sized face appear to be

very small, as if she was a 15 years old girl.

He had to admit that she did look quite young.

At least, she looked a few years younger than her actual age.

When he observed the photo, a complicated emotion surged up within his eyes. It was so deep and it flitted through his eyes for a fleeting moment.

Noticing that he had taken the police ID but did not return it to her, Claudia said in a deep voice at once, "Give it back to me. What are you looking

at?"

Sebastian came to his senses. By the time he looked up, Claudia had already stretched out her hand to snatch it.
