don’t touch what’s mine
Letta looked at Abian, who was currently staring at her with a puzzled expression. “Abian,” Letta said, also surprised by Abian’s arrival. After that, Letta looked at Marco, who was also looking at Abian with his arrogant gaze. Abian then walked closer to Letta, who was about to get into the car, causing Letta to abandon her intention.
“Are you back?” Abian asked, making Letta nod her head. After that, Abian, of course, noticed the presence of Marco, who was right behind Letta.
“Who is he?” Abian asked, making Marco about to walk and introduce himself, but of course, Letta wouldn’t let that happen, making Letta stop Marco’s movement.
“He’s my Boss,” Letta said, making Marco immediately look at her with an unhappy gaze, which Letta ignored.
“He wants to inquire about some tasks that I had left behind earlier,” Letta continued when she saw Abian’s questioning gaze.
“So, do you have other matters?” Abian asked again, making Letta shake her head, and once again, Marco looked displeased at Letta.
“No, I can discuss those tasks later with Mia. Let her convey it to him. You’re here to pick me up, right?” Letta asked again, making Abian nod his head.
“Yes, I parked my car in the basement of your apartment, because I knew you’d want to walk,” Abian said, making Letta smile.
“Alright, then we can go home now,” Letta said. But as they were about to leave, of course, Marco couldn’t let it happen just like that. Marco immediately grabbed Letta’s arm, making Letta wince, and it caught Abian’s attention.
“What are you doing to my girlfriend?” Abian asked, trying to release Marco’s grip, but of course, Marco brushed it off, making Abian look at him with displeasure.
“What did you say, girlfriend?” Marco asked, making Abian just look at Marco with a flat gaze.
“Just so you know, this woman is now-”
“Sorry, but your grip is too strong. We can discuss work matters with me at another time, and I will discuss it with Mia first. Right now, I have to go with my boyfriend, and there are a few things I need to talk about, so I hope you’ll understand,” Letta said, playing with her eye movements, hoping Marco would understand what she was saying.
“You’re going with him?” Marco asked. Marco made Letta nod.
“Fine,” Marco said, releasing Letta’s hand, making Letta breathe a sigh of relief for a moment. But then, Marco walked closer to Letta, making Abian look suspiciously at them.
“I’ll let you go on one condition,” Marco whispered right next to Letta’s face, their position very close as if they were embracing, even though Letta was holding back Marco’s towering figure from in front of her.
“Don’t let that man touch you. Don’t let him touch what’s mine,” Marco whispered, making Letta widen her eyes and then push Marco away quite strongly.
“Alright, I’ll get to it right away and discuss it with Mia. Well then, I’ll take my leave,” Letta said, then grabbed Abian’s hand firmly and dragged him away. Earlier, Abian glanced at Marco who was looking at him with his arrogant gaze, but then several guards immediately approached Marco.
“Follow them, make sure nothing unwanted happens,” Marco said, making his two subordinates nod, then follow Abian and Letta.
Abian looked at his hand that Letta was holding tightly. “We can walk slowly,” Abian said, making Letta snap out of it.
“Oh, right,” Letta said somewhat awkwardly, making Abian slightly suspicious of what was actually happening.
“Who is he really?” Abian asked again, making Letta look back.
“I’ve told you, he’s not just my former boss, you know he’s the owner of Jovanka Airlines,” Letta said, making Abian still silent.
“Then why is he dealing with you again? Haven’t you already left his company?” Abian asked.
“As I explained earlier, there are some tasks that were left unfinished before I left, and it seems I forgot to hand them over to him. So I think I should discuss it with Mia beforehand,” Letta said, making Abian sigh, trying to trust her partner’s words. Before Letta turned to take him to her apartment, Abian stopped her, making Letta turn around.
“Why?” Letta asked.
“You know the park at the end of the street there, there’s an empty lot,” Abian said, making Letta nod her head.
“I passed by earlier, and it turns out there’s a night market there. Do you want to go?” Abian asked, making Letta widen her eyes with a twinkle, then nod enthusiastically.
“Of course. It will definitely be a lot of fun,” Letta said, making Abian smile.
They then chose to walk to the night market that Abian meant because the distance was not too far. Since long ago, Letta has liked visiting night markets like this. Not only because of the variety of food she enjoys, but also because of the childhood memories associated with some of the games, sometimes making Letta smile at the children joyfully riding the amusement rides at the night market.
They continued walking and chatting until they finally arrived at the night market, making Letta impatient to immediately buy some food, such as sweet snacks and other delicacies she often purchases when visiting the night market. Abian could only shake his head when he saw Letta with various foods by her side.
Abian then chose to sit in one of the chairs facing the amusement rides, while Letta was currently enjoying her favorite grilled sausage. “You’re eating so eagerly,” Abian said, wiping the corner of Letta’s lips that had sauce stains, making Letta pause for a moment before finally smiling.
“Yes, I don’t know why my appetite has increased lately,” Letta said, making Abian smile.
“No wonder, when I’m with you. It seems like you’ve gained a little weight, right?” Abian said, making Letta slightly stunned. Letta had almost forgotten that she was now experiencing some physical changes. Although not very noticeable yet, Letta could feel the changes that a pregnant woman typically goes through, and she was currently experiencing them.
Letta then looked at Abian, who was now looking ahead with a beaming smile. For some reason, it was difficult for her to tell Abian the whole truth. Letta was afraid of facing disappointment in her partner’s eyes. She cared for the man in front of her so much that the feeling of disappointment might be very suffocating for her.
