Chapter 110
"Emma, when are you and Ethan planning to get married? If you don't decide soon, you'll lose your chance," Lily Woods said sternly, her expression serious and full of concern.
Deep down, she desperately hoped her daughter could marry Ethan Carter soon. If the Brooks family could align with the Carter Corporation, they wouldn't have to worry about business ever again.
"Mom, please stop rushing me. I want to get married too, but Ethan..." Olivia paused, letting out a frustrated sigh.
She had some understanding of Ethan's temperament; he was stubborn. No amount of persuasion would budge him. Moreover, Olivia didn't want to push him too hard; as the saying goes, the harder you push, the more likely you'll trigger resistance. She worried that if she pressed too much, Ethan might change his mind altogether.
"Why don't you drop some hints? If you're getting married, you definitely need to try on wedding dresses first," Lily suggested, raising an eyebrow, feeling quite clever.
If Ethan agreed to go with Olivia to pick out wedding dresses, it would be a good sign that he was on board with getting married. If not, they would have to put things on hold for a little while longer.
After some careful thought, Olivia decided her mother's idea wasn't half bad, so she nodded in agreement.
With her mind made up, she immediately took out her phone and called Ethan.
"Ethan, are you busy right now?" Olivia asked sweetly.
"Just finished up. What's up?" Ethan's tone remained cool and indifferent.
"Since we've decided to get married, I'd like to go take some wedding photos and try on some dresses. Will you come with me?" she asked, cautiously testing the waters.
As soon as she finished speaking, silence descended on the line. She bit her lip, filled with hope as she waited for Ethan's response
Three Years to Love
"I'm willing to agree to any date you want for the wedding. Can't you just give in to me this once? I'm not asking for much; I just want to try on some dresses," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of desperation as Ethan still didn't respond. "Okay," he finally agreed.
He hadn't forgotten the debt he felt towards her, so as long as it wasn't an unreasonable request, he would comply.
Olivia's face lit up with excitement. "Great! I'll come find you in a bit!"
"Sounds good," Ethan replied, though a sense of regret washed over him immediately after he hung up.
After getting Ethan's answer, Olivia hurried to the office, anxious that every passing moment might make Ethan reconsider.
As Emma was busy sketching designs, Rachel Smith suddenly came over. "Emma, it looks like we don't have much work today. How about we go shopping after we clock
out?"
"That sounds great! I was actually planning to buy some things," Emma replied eagerly. Once the workday was over, Emma and Rachel headed to the shopping mall nearby. "Emma, look! Isn't that Ethan and Olivia?" Rachel exclaimed as they reached the fifth floor.
Emma followed Rachel's gaze and saw them. Indeed, there they were. Olivia stood in a beautiful white wedding dress, her face glowing with happiness as she looked in the mirror. (End of Chapter)
