Chapter Eighteen
"I ASKED FOR AN INFORMANT OF MINE, TO look after the best jewelry store, hidden from the people's eyes. And then I learned about you!" Again, he blushed and I sensed the aura finally coming closer to us. My heartbeat got faster and I put my hands on Kallisto, my thin sword. Clenching my jaw.
Mr. Kevin George seemed surprised by my reaction. "So you are a sharp one, hm, kid. If you can sense my friend from where he is standing." I stared at him.
"Who is he?" I more demanded than asked, and he again was a little startled by my voice.
"Why don't you ask that to me?" I heard his voice before I saw his face, and it was deeper than the ocean, making goosebumps spread down my spine again. And when I turned to see him, my heart skipped a bit.
Not because of his unworldly beauty, beautiful physique, or because he was also taller than me. But because of his eyes.
Ruby-red eyes.
And he seemed just as startled to see me. Does he know me? No... that can't be if I'm using a disguise. It can't be, right? Besides, as I've said before, I've never seen a guy like him.
Could... could he be the executioner from my past life? Because I feel drawn to him just as I felt in my last moments alive in the first timeline. Who is he?
I sensed when some kind of magic surrounded the both of us, but I couldn't pinpoint what it was. What is he doing? What's his plan?
"Who are you?" We asked together. And this time, I couldn't hold my bloodlust alone, it was as if mine was responding to his. If that even makes sense. "What's your name?" Again, together. I don't like this boy. He's dangerous and I should stay away from him, or he might make it difficult for me to get my plans into action.
"Could you stop repeating what I say?" To my dismay, we spoke together again. What is happening? This isn't some disgusting cliché romance novel, so could it stop?
How sickening.
"Who master do you serve?" He asked when I stayed silent, annoyed to the core. "Who are you? What's your name? What is your plan for coming to such a place? And why am I not able to read your mind?" So he's a telepath, hm. And he sure likes to talk.
"I should be asking you the same damn questions, boy." He seemed just as angry as I am. "If you don't tell me the answer you want to hear from me, I'm not going to say shit."
A dangerous smirk took over his lips, "Then it seems like we aren't in agreement, girl." He stared at mine and it made me feel something I don't like at all. Even though I don't know what it is, I don't like it. Worst, I hate it.
"I'll give you one more chance," he began. "Who are you?"
"Will you tell me who you are, if I tell you that?"
"Why would I?" He seems to have a big pride, hm.
"Boring!" I exclaimed, in a convincible way, acting as if he was the most uninteresting person in the world, even when he's the opposite of that, and that seemed to make him even angrier. When I was going to turn my eyes away from his feral red gaze, he held my wrist. Unhurriedly, I looked down to where his gloved hand was holding mine, feeling my heartbeat speeding up like crazy, and goosebumps going down my spine again.
I hate this. It's been ages since I felt like I was in a dangerous situation. Even when I was executed I didn't think like that. But now, I feel weak again. And I hate this. I hate this feeling. It makes me sick and I want to punch his face. It makes me want to broke all the bones in his handsome body.
Slowly, I look at his eyes again, and I felt breathless. Clenching my jaw, I tried to gather strength to say something. "What. The. Fuck. Are. You. Doing?" I spoke every word, in a way that made me look fierce. "Let. Go. Of. My. Arm!"

Of course, I spoke that way because it was the only way I could say something at the moment. But it did look good. Very threatening. "What do you mean by boring?" He questioned, releasing me.
A sly smile crossed my lips and I arched my eyebrows in a mocking way that got on his nerves. "You are boring. That's what I meant. Why? Did it hurt your ego?" His bloodlust got stronger and so did mine, to answer his own. "You don't know who you are messing with, girl," his hand was on his sword, and so was mine on Kallisto again.
"Neither do you, boy!" It seems like he's offended by being called a boy, so I'll keep that up. "I would advise you not to try anything here, you wouldn't want us to destroy the jewelry, would you?"
His eyes met Mr. Kevin George and I saw the gleam on them get gentle, which caught me off guard. Do they have a closer relationship?
Sighing annoyed, he let go of the handle of his sword and I mimic his action. "I have to go! We'll see each again!"
A part of me wants that to happen to try knowing more about this dangerous and mysterious guy who has the eyes I was looking for. But the other part- "Goddess above, no! I hope that I won't ever see you again in neither this lifetime nor my next ones!"
He smirked at that and took a good look at me, making me feel my cheeks hot. Maybe he's causing me to have a fever. This Goddess-damn bastard will pay for this. Then the magic he had used to surround us disappeared and he ignored me, turning to the owner.
"Uncle Kevin," I'm only going to call him George now. And uncle? Why did the owner say they were friends, then? "I'll be on my way now." His attention turned to me for a second and I looked away. "Be careful with this little sly cat," cat? Is he calling me a cat?

Mr. George bowed to him slightly and messed with his short wavy pitch-black hair, "Don't get into trouble, kid." When he turned his front to me, he didn't give a gentle glint to his eyes anymore.
It was the contrast of that. He seemed more dangerous than before. "If you do something to him, girl," somehow I felt like I was the only one who could hear him. "I'm going to find you even if you die and I have to go to the afterlife to get you! Got it?"
Mr. George must be important to him. Moreover, I would never do anything against him. I'm not Dalilah. But I'm not going to tell him that. "To your concern, I'm not, one bit, scared of you!"
"Oh, I know," he spoke with the most charming smile in the world. That's quite dangerous. "You smell of recklessness. But you should be!" And with that, without sparing me another word, he got out of the store and disappeared outside. I let out an angry sigh, still staring at the door as if I could burn it down, "This fucker- Ugh, who does he think he is to speak with me like that? How dare he tell me what to do?" Clenching my hands into fists, I took some minutes to calm myself down, but I still couldn't forget his boldness.
When I finally turned to face Ash, Kate, and the jewelry crafter, had a strange look on their faces. "What are you staring at me for? Is there something on my face?" I touched my cheeks and felt them burning.
"Why are you blushing?" Asher and Kate asked together, both with the same smirk on as Mr. George.
I laughed acidly, "I'm not blushing, dumbasses. I'm having a fever! My body is burning, can't you tell?" They didn't seem to believe a word I said.
Asher giggled loudly and I stared at him as if I could throw a dagger on him just with the power of my gaze. "You are really something, Lady Hana. To prefer to say that you have a fever than to admit the green-eyed boy made you blush!" Wait- Green-eyed? What the fuck? Was he also using a disguise? But... why didn't I see him like that? "Green eyes?" I asked and the three of them nodded. What's happening?
What does he truly look like? Did I see his real appearance and they didn't? And if that's the case, why...? Why could I see him?
And if I could see him- for Mikla's sake, does that mean he could see me too?
