Chapter 500
Hendrix's hand remained suspended in midair. When he realized Noelle had no intention of taking the keycard, he immediately frowned.
But Noelle acted as if she hadn't noticed and simply pulled out the documents she had prepared. "Rather than that, let's talk about the terms of our deal first."
Hendrix didn't respond, his eyes fixed on the papers in her hand.
"This is the surgery consent form. Please sign it," Noelle continued.noveldrama
Last time, he had claimed he hadn't agreed to her terms, and she had no way to argue. So this time, she came prepared.
Hendrix was a businessman, and as a businessman, he valued tangible, signed documents above all else. In addition to the consent form, Noelle had prepared another contact one outlining the nature of their... relationship.
It stated that she would fulfill Hendrix's need, but only during Rosie's recovery period. Once the surgery was successful and Rosie was fully healed, their relationship would end immediately, with no further ties. The terms of the contract were simple and evenly straightforward. If such a document were leaked to the media, it could cause significant damage to both of their reputations.
But Noelle seemed completely indifferent. She had calmly placed her own body at the bargaining table. Hendrix fixed his gaze on the clauses. He had finished reading those few lines of text long ago, but he gave no reaction or response. He simply sat there, expressionless, as he stared at the document. "Mr. Freeman, do you have any questions?" Noelle asked.
It was only then that Hendrix looked up.
Noelle was watching him curiously, her demeanor professional. "Let me know if you want any changes made, and we can do it on the spot."
As soon as she finished speaking, Hendrix suddenly laughed. Then, he tore up the contract, along with the surgery consent form, right in front of her.
Noelle's expression immediately changed. She turned to him and asked, "What do you mean by this?" "It's simple. Our agreement is null and void," Hendrix replied.
Noelle frowned.
"Noelle, did you really think I had no choice but to sign this contract?" Hendrix asked. "Don't forget that you're the one begging me here. If you're not willing, you can leave now. I won't force you."
With that, he stood up. "After all, whether or not I agree to the surgery is entirely up to me, isn't it? So what if I don't want to do it anymore?"
Noelle remained seated on the couch, while Hendrix stood over her, looking down with a mocking, scornful expression.
She clenched her fists and said through gritted teeth, "Hendrix, Rosie is your kid."
"So what?" "Hendrix said impassively. "In your eyes, I'm just a cold and heartless person anyway. In fact, you'd be disappointed if I didn't act this way, no?"
"Hendrix Freeman!" Noelle couldn't help but shout, standing up abruptly.
Her sudden burst of emotion made Hendrix's eyes narrow slightly.
But within a few seconds, Noelle managed to regain her composure. She lowered her gaze and asked, "So, what exactly do you want?"
Hendrix didn't respond.
Noelle stood there with her fists clenched, waiting for his answer.
What do you think?
