Chapter 30
Chapter 30
Chapter 30 Who… do you like?
The Watson who had been shouting just now now seemed like a struggling ant in front of her.
“What… what do you want?” Watson panicked.
Evelyn smiled faintly, leisurely pulling out a surgical knife from her pocket.
There were no anticipated interrogations, no anticipated threats. Evelyn raised her hand, and
with one swift motion, she mercilessly struck Watson’s hand.
“Ah!” Watson screamed even more painfully than when a pig is slaughtered.
Alexander was stunned, his heart still trembling from Evelyn’s previous icy and desolate gaze.
He even ignored Watson’s screams, his mind filled with just one word.
Merciless!
Too merciless!
Alexander realized that this kind of ruthlessness on Evelyn was not repulsive but had a

captivating charm.
If he hadn’t always disliked Evelyn, he might even want to shout, “Idol!”
Evelyn dropped the surgical knife, wiped off the blood on her fingertips, and said, “If a pair of hands are
used to harm others, there’s no need to keep them.”
Consider it a lesson for Watson. Evelyn walked away.
Alexander quickly spoke up, “You’re leaving, what about this guy?”
“This is a hospital. Take him for stitches.” Evelyn paused and added, “The medical bills are on you.”
At first, it seemed like there was no problem with her words, but…
“He was injured by you, why should I cover the medical expenses?”
Alexander wanted to argue a bit more, but Evelyn had already walked far away. He could only wave his
hand in resignation and impatiently order the bodyguards, “Take him for stitches.”
Leaving the morgue, Evelyn felt like she had lost all support, leaning weakly against the white
wall.
She dared not imagine what would have happened if Alexander hadn’t noticed Watson’s
actions. Would Henry be in trouble by now? She didn’t want to lose him again.
Fear, the accumulated fear from two lifetimes, wrapped around Evelyn. She curled up slowly, trying to
control her body from trembling.
After what seemed like an eternity, Evelyn struggled out of this fear.
Henry’s surgery was over.
Very successful.
When Evelyn returned, Old Mr Wilson and the others were gathered around Henry.
She stood at the door, staring blankly at Henry, who could only breathe smoothly with the help of
oxygen. She was lost in her thoughts until someone tapped her shoulder, bringing her back.
Ava pinched her shoulder. “Why aren’t you going in?”

“Just a moment,” Evelyn smiled. “I don’t think he wants to hear us arguing.”
Seeing Old Mr Wilson’s stern and stubborn face, Ava nodded in understanding. “He married you, and
I’m glad. Henry may have a bad temper, but it’s okay. There are still many days ahead; discipline him
well.”
“Um, okay.” Evelyn blushed.
By saying that, Ava accepted her as a daughter–in–law.
In her previous life, Ava had also supported her and Henry like today. She regretted not cherishing
these supports.
Ava didn’t say anything more, hurriedly went in, and took Old Mr Wilson, Old Mrs Wilson, and Angela
with her.
Evelyn responded and walked in slowly.
On the sickbed, the man’s eyes were tightly closed, lips pale, and the small wound on his head was not
conspicuous. However, seeing the various bandages on his body, big and small, Evelyn’s heart ached.
“Henry, why are you so foolish.”
Henry woke up in the middle of the night.

Opening his eyes, he saw a fluffy little head resting on his hand, and he felt the dampness on his skin,
likely the tears of a girl, bringing a burning sensation into Henry’s heart.
Evelyn was just in light sleep. Feeling her hair being touched, she woke up immediately.
As she raised her eyes, she saw that Henry was already awake, staring intently at her.
“You…” Henry began.
“What?” His voice was hoarse from not drinking water for a long time. Evelyn had to lean closer and
ask softly, “How are you feeling? Uncomfortable? I’ll call the doctor.”
As she was about to press the call button, her hand was held.
