The Persistent CEO Wants A Baby

Chapter 18 If you don’t give him a heir?

Diana dropped Tihana off and Tihana waved at her.

“See you later hun.” Diana said and drove away.

Tihana breathed out and went into the company.

“Good morning.” Tihana greeted her co workers on the way to her office.

She tossed her bag on her desk as she sat on the chair.

She started up her laptop and as she waited for it to start up, she brought out some of the files she has to work on.

Just when she was about to start typing on her laptop, the door of her office opened and Mrs Linda came in. Tihana stood up immediately to greet her.

“Good morning Mrs Linda.”

“Morning Tihana. How are you doing this morning?”

“I’m doing good ma. Thank you for asking.” Tihana replied in a smile.

After days of working in this company and with Mrs Linda, Tihana have come to the conclusion that Mrs Linda was nice and they’ve come to have a great friendly relationship between themselves.

“Are you done editing the reports?”

“No ma.”

“Why aren’t you done?”

“I was really busy yesterday with the articles but I promise I will edit it before lunch break.”

“Miss Tihana, please try to step up.” Tihana knew there was a problem instantly as she stared at Mrs Linda like a movie.

But what did she mean by that? Wasn’t she doing her job diligently enough?

“Don’t get me wrong. You’re doing your job well.” Mrs Linda answered the question as if reading her mind.

“But, the boss doesn’t seem satisfied with what you’re doing.” Mrs Linda said again and this time Tihana couldn’t help but to ask.

“Did he say anything?”

“Yeah. He actually complained to me about you not satisfying him with what you do here in the office.”

“And did he tell you maybe how?”

“He said he asked you to submit the new methods you were working a day before yesterday but instead you submitted it yesterday.”

He reported her because of that? But she thought he has forgotten about that?

“Ma, it wasn’t intentional. I was very busy all through, that was why it came very late.”

“I know and I understand pretty well but I’m just informing you so you can know how to be careful around him. That is just the way he is.” Mrs Linda said the last statement in a whisper.

“Thank you Mrs Linda. I’ll try to do as you have said.”

“You’re welcome.” Mrs Linda smiled at her.

“I’ll be in my office. Do make sure to submit the reports when you’re done.” Mrs Linda said and left.

Tihana sat down with a great sigh. Why was Aiden Turner always finding fault in everything she does?

She shook her head and continued her work.

HOURS LATER*

*LUNCH BREAK*

Tihana looked around the cafeteria for the man who asked her to meet him there.

She finally found him sitting at a table. As usual his legs were crossed and eyes on his phone.

She went to him and sat opposite him. He took a glance at her and dropped his phone on the table.

For the first time ever that he would drop his phone immediately she arrived.

He sipped his juice on the table, still staring at her.

“Why did it take you so long?”

“Sir, you just called me like a minute ago and I came running here as fast as I could.” Tihana picked her words slowly enough as she doesn’t want to offend the arrogant CEO.

“My grandfather wants a wedding to hold and we concluded that it will take place in three days time.”

Tihana stared at him with mouth slightly opened. A wedding? And in three days?

“But why sir?”

“I’m a person of a very high status and you don’t expect me to just have a wife without a wedding.”

“But this is a just a damn contract!” She almost said in a yell but restrained herself immediately.

“This wasn’t part of the contract. I wasn’t told this before.” Tihana said instead feeling cheated.

“You signed the contract, so accepting to do a wedding shouldn’t be a problem.” Aiden smirked.

He was right about that though. She accepted to be his wife and give him a baby within a year, doing a wedding shouldn’t be a problem to her.

She should have expected this.

“Do you really think I have time for a wedding too? Like I said, grandfather insisted on it so you should better not think too deep about it.” Aiden jeered as he took another sip of his juice.

“You should start getting prepared because you don’t have much time left.”

“More updates will be given to you as the day goes by.”

All these while, Tihana didn’t say anything. She just stared at her grumpy boss.

“Is there any other questions?” Aiden asked and she shook her head in a negative way.

“Good. I’m out of here.” He said as he stood up. He took another sip of his juice and left the cafeteria.

Tihana stared around and she could feel some of the workers eyes on her.

She doesn’t really blame them. It was all her jerky boss fault.

She sluggishly stood up from the chair, so she could get lunch.

**********

Diana sat on her chair in the office as she thought of how she was going to convince her father.

She has gotten to hire a boyfriend and told her dad about it but there was only one little problem left and that was how to convince him that Wayne was truly her boyfriend.

She and her dad had this strong father and daughter relationship that her dad could read her like a book.

She only said what she told Wayne yesterday just so he doesn’t back off and think she wasn’t serious after all.

She just have to think of a way to fix things. She still has to send what to say to Wayne later in the day.

She checked her wristwatch and when she saw it was closing hours already, she breathed out a sigh of relief.

She wasn’t able to fully concentrate all day and she was grateful her superior wasn’t around today.

She stood up with her bag and left her office, locking the door behind her.

She entered her car and drove out of the lot. She turned on her car music as she hit the road to help her cool down.

Minutes later, she stopped at the front of Aiden Turner’s company as she waited for her best friend to come out.

She hates entering into the company. Not like she hates the company itself, but because she doesn’t want to have any encounter with the owner which was Aiden Turner.

She rested her head on the car seat and closed her eyes.

Someone calling her name made her open her eyes. She turned to see Tihana.

She unlocked the car door for her and Tihana entered.

“Were you sleeping in the car?” Tihana said staring at Diana.

“No, was just thinking things through.”

“So, how was the office?” Diana said again as she ignited the engine again.

“It was tiring especially having to work more than you should just so you would get a good impression from your boss.” Tihana rolled her eyes and Diana scoffed.

“Really?”

“Yeah. You know sometimes I feel like he has made it his mission to indirectly punish me for lying to him and this contract marriage is just like a game to him.”

“We should have known better.” Diana muttered.

“How are you guys going about the marriage by the way?”

“He wants a wedding.”

“But why?” Diana said bewildered.

“Same thing I asked but according to him, grandfather wanted this.”

“When is it taking place?”

“In three days time.”

“Isn’t that too soon?” Diana said surprised making a U-turn.

“He probably wants to get it done with as soon as possible.”

“You’re right but I don’t really get why he’s doing this when he isn’t actually ready for it.”

“I also don’t know. The only thing I just came up with is that he needs a heir.”

“But what if you don’t give him a heir?”

“Then it is no longer my fault.” Tihana replied and rest on the car seat.
