Chapter 3762
Chapter 3762
Elaine sighed mournfully as she mentioned Hannah. " Hannah and I are sisters-in-law. We're both miserable and unlucky, and became the Wilson family's daughter-in-law. We both understand each other's suffering..."
Elaine paused before crying in mock sadness, "Ah! Hannah has it worse than me! She got pregnant at such an old age and miscarried. It's so terrible for her health! I want to invite her out for a ride in our new car so that she can relax and feel better!"
Christopher listened as Elaine yapped on and on, her fakeness obvious. He grew livid when she brought up Hannah's miscarriage.
He pointed a furious finger at Elaine and barked," Elaine, you... You..!. You're such a terrible person! You should've known! Hannah ran away! Why are you still humiliating me in such a way? I... I...I'll smash you to death!"
Christopher wanted to throw the crutch under his arm at Elaine and let it fall on her, smashing her. When Elaine saw that, she broke out in a cold sweat.
Christopher might not be able to hit her right in the head, but he could easily hit the Cullinan parked downstairs.
Elaine was more worried about the ten-million-dollar car than her own well-being. How could she afford to
fix the car if it was damaged?
They could make do without repairing it if it was just a dent, but they wouldn't be able to make do if Christopher actually broke the glass. Could they possibly wrap the window with plastic wrap or use scotch tape to cover the broken window? There was n o way!
She finally got a luxury car after so long! She would cry if the car was damaged right after owning it.
Lady Wilson hurriedly stepped forward at this juncture, and grabbed Christopher's arm tightly to stop him.
"Christopher, you mustn't! You can't throw the crutch! You have to think of Harold and me! If you hit them, how can we continue our life...?" Christopher burst into tears of humiliation upon hearing his mother's words. He choked, "Mom, I'm not trying to argue with you, but Elaine's just too much!"
Lady Wilson grabbed the crutch tightly and refused to let go. She wailed, "Christopher! Patience and endurance will bring peace!"
Christopher fell into a short silence, and finally let out a heavy sigh. He threw his crutch on the floor as he calmed down.
Elaine felt relieved to see Lady
Wilson successfully stop
Christopher from going amok. She let out a sigh of relief before
shouting at Lady Wilson, "I've known you for almost thirty years! You've finally done
something right today!"
Lady Wilson was humiliated by Elaine's scathing remark. Even so, she couldn't refute it.
She could only reply calmly, "Elaine, we can't get on the wrong side with you. Please, I beg of you, don't make fun of our family again.”
Elaine didn't expect to see Lady
Wilson surrender to her so easily
The latter was usually arrogant and vengeful, so her humble reaction dumbfounded Elaine. She was
unsure of how to respond.
While Elaine was still recovering from her shock, she suddenly caught sight of two people walking towards them. She subconsciously glanced at them and blurted out in surprise, "Oh my god! Hannah? Y-you... Why are you back? Content
Christopher didn't see the two. Lady Wilson managed t o calm his anger earlier, but he exploded again when h e heard Elaine mention Hannah's name.
He lost his temper and yelled, "Elaine! You're so stubborn! I... I'll fight you to the death today!"
Christopher picked up his other crutch, about to fling i t at Hannah. Lady Wilson, however, quickly grabbed the crutch and raised her voice. "Christopher! Don't act rashly!"
Elaine panicked and pointed at the two figures not far away. She yelled, "No, Christopher, look carefully! Hannah's back!"
Christopher glanced over and saw the familiar figure. Immediately, his blood boiled.
He howled furiously, "What on earth?! Hannah! How dare you come back!"
