Chapter 3737
Chapter 3737
Jacob was completely unaware of the consequences of his words. He did not realize that he had unintentionally sold out his daughter and son-in-law to Kathleen.
On the contrary, he felt that he had helped them immensely by referring a new client to his daughter and son-in-law.
It wasn't Jacob's fault for being so unsuspecting. How could he tell that Kylie Jane was not who she claimed to be? Kylie's real identity was Kathleen Fox, a daughter from a prestigious family with hundreds of billions US dollars in worth.
Little did he know, Kathleen rushed to Aurous Hill with the intent to find Charlie just before the Rejuvenating Pill auction.
By the end of the meal, Kathleen was in a good mood.
She did not mention Feng Shui and her home renovation for the rest of the meal. All she talked about was closely related to the art exhibition. She made it seem like Feng Shui and her home renovation were simply random topics that happened to come up only briefly earlier.
While the group bade their goodbyes after the meal came to an end, Jacob took the chance to ask Kathleen about the topic again. "Ms. Jane, earlier, you
mentioned that you needed a Feng Shui master and renovation for your home. Are you still keen on them? If you are, I'll inform my daughter and son-in-law later."
"I'm keen on it," Kathleen said, and nodded with a smile. "Mr. Wilson, how about this? Please arrange an appointment for me with your son-in-law first. Once he's free, I would like him to have a look at Feng Shui. If there's no issue with the Feng Shui, I'll talk to your daughter about the renovations needed. If there are too many major Feng Shui problems, I'll buy another villa instead. Anyway, it's only a matter of tens of millions of dollars."
Kathleen wasn't trying to show off or flaunt her wealth. For her, buying a villa worth tens of millions of dollars was nothing out of the ordinary. To a local in Aurous Hill, buying a villa worth ten million dollars with thousands of square meters here was something shocking. But for Kathleen, doing so was as insignificant as shopping for some souvenirs at a tourist attraction.
Moreover, Kathleen did not plan to meet Charlie together with his wife. She might as well schedule a meeting with Charlie first before meeting his wife. If she couldn't reach her goal by approaching Charlie, she could try it again by approaching his wife.
Jacob found Kathleen's suggestion reasonable. She would get someone to look at Feng Shui first and then renovate her villa once there was no problem. Her logic made sense, and was completely convincing to him.
With that, Jacob replied with a smile, "Alright. I'll talk to my son-in-law later and get him to schedule a meeting with you."
Kathleen nodded again and gave Jacob her name card. She chuckled and said, "Mr. Wilson, here's my name card. If your son-in-law is fine with it, please ask him to contact me."
Jacob beamed. "No worries! I'll let him know."
Jacob was in a good mood when he got home. He parked the car and whistled as he walked into the house.
Charlie, Claire, and Elaine were just about done with dinner. When Elaine saw Jacob entering the house, she immediately called him in and shouted, "Jacob, clean the table!"
Jacob was stunned. He replied with a dark face, "The three of you had dinner together. Why should I clean up for you? Why don't you do it?" Elaine glared at him and said angrily, "You were out s o late! Isn't it right for you to help with some housework?"
Elaine then muttered with
dissatisfaction, "You hang out with that nonsense association all day long! I haven't seen you come home with millions of dollars. What's the point? Aren't you still a failure? Outsiders may not know about your real capability, but why
wouldn't I know? You're just there to make up the numbers, and you don't have any real purpose! How bold can you be to actually represent Aurous Hill at the cultural exchange in Korea? I'll be glad to know that you won't put Aurous Hill to shame!"
Elaine had been a little down lately, mainly because of the cultural exchange event. She became somewhat jealous and dejected when she heard from Jacob about his upcoming trip to Korea for a cultural exchange event.
She had been married to Jacob for years. During their many years together, she frequently admonished Jacob harshly over the slightest mishap. Jacob was never
el.ne
successful and was constantly failing, and thus was shunned by the Wilson family. Elaine was known to be scolding him frequently.
Jacob's years of failure gave Elaine the confidence to constantly ridicule him, no matter the situation.
