Chapter 35: A Picky Man
Chapter 35: A Picky Man
She called Alan," Mr. Hoyle, I'm already here but the security doesn’t allow me to get in."
"Dave will deal with that." Alan just left the half words and hung up the phone. In front of his face, there was a thin paper of information of Ivy sent by Dave just now.
Ivy, male, born in Jiang city, 25 years old, boss of waittingbar, family background unknown.
Waitingbar, founded five years ago.
Such a simple information that like someone erased the trace of the man on purpose. Nobody could spy on him. It was only known that he knew Olive five years ago.
Was it really a coincidence?
Olive waited at the gate for a few minutes. Dave drove the car, when he was passing through the gate, he told something to the security then he got of the car and walked to her.
"Miss Steele, please take this card. It is the gate pass of here for you in the future."
"In the future?" Olive was confused and she took the card.
Dave saw her reaction and felt she was funny," Here is not some dragon den, is it?"
Olive laugh embarrassedly. She could not say that she did not want to come here.
" Go ahead, Mr. Hoyle is waiting for you." Dave urged me gently. There was an undetectable profound meaning in his eyes.
The sound of bell interrupted the thought of Alan. He took a controller beside him and pressed a button.
Olive was a little stupefied since she saw the door opened by itself gradually but there was nobody behind it.
"What are you waiting there? Do I have to invite you in?" The cold-hearted voice of Alan came through.
Olive showed her white eyes. Why his tone always been like this? She was not dared to bother him to inviter her in. Alan had already hid the document of Ivy when Olive walked in.
"Mr. Hoyle, this is the document you asked."
She glanced at the lobby. All the floor was paved by shinning marble. The space was quite big and there was not a lot of furniture in it but they were all quality goods and she could not call up their brand names, too.
Black and white were the most original colors. They were giving a play incisively and vividly here just like the two worlds he experienced before.
Alan took over the document and had a look quickly then said lightly," There are materials prepared in the kitchen, Miss Steele, call me in the study on the third floor after you finish cooking the lunch."
Olive opened her eyes widely and surprisingly. She saw that he was just going to raise up," I’m not your maid at all."
"Miss Steele, of course you are not my maid but you are my assistant. Except being on duty for 24 hours a day and come as I call, there are some duties of looking after my private life, too. Besides, Miss Steele owed me a meal, didn't you. I understand that you are short of money. Therefore, I asked them to prepare the material first and you only have to cook them. In my opinion, this is a win-win method, Miss Steele, what your opinion?"
Olive thought in her mind," You will get what you want of course." But she could only sigh when she saw her empty wallet.
" I have to be humble when I'm trapped in an inferior situation. He is my boss and paying me anyway." Olive thought.
Alan lifted his eyebrows a little when he saw that Olive did not move at all," Miss Steele, please don't tell me that you can't cook." After a pause, he said," But it's normal. There are a lot of women who can't cook since they are afraid of the oil and smoke that may hurt their skin. It's not a shame that Miss Steele can't cook. I can give you the chance to try."
"Who told you that I can't cook?" Olive gave a humph. She knew that was a trap clearly but she still swallowed the bait and huffed," Where is the kitchen?"
" Turn left, go straight then turn right. I'd like two dishes with meat, one dish with vegetable and a soup." Alan told Olive the way and ordered her.“
The kitchen of a rich family were quite different. One of the side of the kitchen was Chinese style and the other side was western style. There were two dinning room, a big one and a small one. The area of those was even larger than the total area of Olive's three rooms apartment.
Living alone in such a huge house was such a waste.
There were plenty kinds of materials in the refrigerator. Cookers and seasonings were all in readiness. There was even an apron with flower printed on it.
Olive rolled up her sleeves and started cooking quickly.
The soup was cooked with ribs and wax gourd; The fish was steamed with pickled beans; Shredded meat was cooked with celery and she also cooked a plate of pakchoi.
Even though her cooking skill was not as good as a chef of a restaurant, a few standing dishes were not hard to her. She served his stomach before. But it could not be told if his taste changed after these years.
Olive went to the third floor to call Alan when she had set the table. The door of the study was open, she heard that he was talking on the phone when she got in to the room.
"All right, Ophelia, listen to my words, I will be back in few days. Your health is not good so don't be capricious..."
Olive's heart trembled. Originally, he would leave to the side of that woman in the end anyway.
This city, could not keep him.
She backed out of the door, leaning against the wall on one side and listened him tile he finished the call. His voice was very soft, almost indulging.
His patience with that woman was so good. Not like when she met him earlier, he was grumpy and moody.
Everyone, wound meet a nemesis of life. For that person, they could change all their bad habits, only to please that person.
"What are you doing here?"Alan suddenly appeared at the door, looking at her with a slight frown. His tone was a little strict as if she was spying on him.
Olive slightly stunned then answered with less emotion, " Nothing, the food was ready. I'm here to call you to have lunch but you were on the phone just now so I did not want to disturb you and I waited here . "
She moved away sight from his and blinked her eyes quietly. Her eyelashes were slightly damp. She did not have a habit of eavesdropping. She just happens to bump into it and that made her mind clearer.
Alan looked at her back as she left first. He looked thoughtful and the sight in his eyes was more complex and difficult to detect.
