Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Did she accidentally hurt Derek last night while she was struggling with that strange man?
Or maybe it was that person who hurt Derek!
Xavier Family had a big business and large fortune, and there were a lot of people who were enemies
of the Xavier Family. That person didn't seem to be a member of the Xavier Family at all. Maybe he
was an enemy of the Xavier Family...
Meredith got up subconsciously and wanted to say it, but she hesitated at the moment she opened her
mouth. If she did, she would be forced to tell what happened on earth last night. If she told the truth that
the man tried to rape her last night, but nothing happened between them, would those people in the
Xavier Family believe it?
A strange man suddenly appeared and hurt Derek, but let Meredith go?
Unless Meredith did something with him, or Meredith was with that man. Otherwise, how could she be
unharmed?
Could those people in Xavier Family let her go with such suspicion on her?
Her lips quivered for a long time. Meredith finally said, "It's me. I didn't take good care of him. I knocked
over the lamp last night and cut him. I'm willing to be punished..."
"I said that you did it on purpose. If I had known it would be like this, I should have..."
"Enough."
senior Mr. Xavier raised his hand and stopped Violet from striding forward to strangle Meredith. Then
he slowly turned to look at Meredith. His aged eyes were filled with a fearful chill. He was like a lion still
in its prime who could tear his prey to pieces and crush it into the mud at any time.
"Since you admit your mistake, go to the basement and reflect on how you can take good care of
Derek before coming out."
"Dad, this is too easy for her! Dad!"
senior Mr. Xavier paced out of the bedroom with his hands behind his back. Violet chased after him,
and before she left the room, she did not forget to look back at Meredith fiercely.
Meredith understood what Violet was going to say but was interrupted just now.
"I should have killed you in the first place."
Looking at the servants around who looked at her with the same hatred, she felt that the whole Xavier
Family would wish death for her.
After senior Mr. Xavier left, someone immediately went up and dragged Meredith into the basement.
The door was locked with a bang, and Meredith was once again trapped in a dark cage.
There was no food, no water, no light, and no one. Meredith sat quietly in the corner with her knees in
her arms. Her mind was spinning with images of her mother falling ill, her being coaxed into wearing
that expensive dress, her takingr a spin, and being held on to the prison in the blink of an eye. And
even, she had the image that Derek was lying quietly beside her.
She didn't know how many days had passed, and no one had come and asked her if she had done her
introspection. Perhaps the people of the Xavier Family had already forgotten her. People like her, even
if they quietly died at the Xavier Family, no one would care.
She was thirsty and hungry. She leaned against the wall and breathed hard, finally confirming
something.
People in the Xavier Family would really take her life at any time.
"I know I was wrong... Let me out... I will take good care of Derek... Even if I get injured or die, I will
never let Derek get hurt again... Please, let me out..."
Meredith fell to the ground and pleaded in a faint voice. She did not know that her promise at this
moment would really become a reality one day...
Before she lost her consciousness, Meredith still didn't see the people of the Xavier Family come and
let her out.
...
The warm liquid slid down her throat, and Meredith gradually regained her consciousness. She
subconsciously swallowed the liquid flowing into her mouth, and her 'dried' internal organs were finally
moistened. She slowly opened her eyes.
Meredith pushed the man in front of her away when she saw the cold, clear eyes that were close to her.
She grabbed the quilt and moved back. Her eyes widened in horror.
"Why are you here!"
