Chapter 18
Chapter 18
When Derek returned to the bedroom, Meredith was sitting in a daze on the bed, as if she had lost her
mind. There was no light in her beautiful eyes and she did not react when she saw him return.
Derek frowned and slammed the door. The sudden loud noise scared Meredith so much. When she
saw that he was back, her lips trembled. However, she didn't ask anything.
Even if he didn't say anything, Meredith knew that Derek must have gone to the Old Master to ask for a
divorce. He was already very kind to not kill her after he knew that she was the "one" who caused him
to lie on the bed for three years. How could he accept her as his wife?
And not to mention the fact that he saw her being raped by that man last night.
A man couldn't accept that his wife was raped by another man.
He should be here to ask her to pack up and leave now, right?
But what should she do after she left the Xaviers?
Could the Masons let her go easily?
While Meredith was still thinking, a document was thrown in front of her.
"Sign this agreement."
Derek said coldly. The coldness in his voice was completely different from that of the man last night.
Derek's voice was cold, but that man's voice was fierce. They had completely different personalities,
but they were both so frightening.
Meredith opened the document. The first requirement was that the marriage relationship between them
was not allowed to be leaked. And the following provisions also targeted Meredith. There was no limit
to Derek. He was a beneficiary.
"If I sign it, I can still stay at the Xaviers, right?"
"Yes. Will you sign it or not?"
"I'll sign it!"
Why not? If Derek really wanted to expose her improper relationship with that man, then she wouldn't
be sitting here right now. Maybe Derek had his own concerns, and maybe the Xaviers still needed her.
So why didn't she stay? And why did she have to leave the Xaviers and then be afraid that the Masons
would come after her?
Meredith picked up a pen and quickly signed the agreement and then handed it to Derek.
After signing the agreement, Meredith stood up. "Since it's settled, I'll take a break."
Because of all the fright last night, she didn't sleep well all night.
"In the future, we will sleep in the same room at home." Derek said indifferently, "This is grandpa's
request."
Meredith looked at the man who had been able to move freely, and she became nervous again. It
would be dangerous for her to share a bed with such a dangerous man.
"Don't worry. I'm not interested in you. I'll sleep on the bed. And you sleep on the floor." Derek was
displeased to see the vigilance in Meredith's eyes.
Meredith sighed. It was fine for her to sleep on the floor. At least Derek wouldn't want to assault her
sexually the moment he woke up. And when Derek woke up, that man wouldn't dare barge in and hurt
her.
It was a form of protection for her.
However, she could no longer hold Derek's arm from now on.
That night, although Meredith slept on the floor, she slept exceptionally well.
After that, Meredith was never harassed by that man again, and her relationship with Derek was neither
intimate nor aloof. In order not to worry grandfather, Derek asked her to cooperate with him in front of
others so as not to let people think that they were too distant. But when there was no one around them,
Meredith was not allowed to come near him at all, and Meredith was happy about it.
Derek gradually began to accept the work of Xavier Group. He was so busy every day that he did not
even have time to take a cold look at Meredith. Meredith no longer had to clean his body, and no longer
had to massage him. Her task was just to hang out with him every day in front of the Old Master. She
had never had an easier time like this.
Just when Meredith thought that the days would go on like this, things went wrong again.
In the evening, Derek was reading documents in the study, and Meredith was sleeping on the floor.
Suddenly, the lights in the room went out. Meredith was about to get up and run to the door, but she
was grabbed by someone.
"It's been a long time. Meredith!"
