26. Mates, part 6.
A STORMY NIGHT
“It smells great!” Sasha says as she watches Occisor throw the seasonings into the pot. “What’s today’s meat?”
“Moose.”
Happiness seems to overflow from the young girl’s little body. For two days, Occisor has been more susceptible to interactions with his mate and even though it’s only a few words, only at dinner time, for Sasha, it already makes a total difference. The feeling of loneliness diminished two percent.
“Go take the plates,” he says without looking at her, eyes focused on the meat he’s preparing.
Occisor likes to prep the meat with a mix of spices, chopped onion, pepper, cilantro, garlic and salt. Both the smell and the taste leave him with his mouth salivating. And during that week, Occisor realized that his mate likes the way he prepares the meat too. Which, in his opinion, made everything simpler, since he would refuse to prepare two kinds of meat.
“One day will you teach me how to do this?” Sasha asks as she approaches the stove and inhales the smell a little more.
Occisor does not answer her, just takes the pan out of the fire and walks to the table, distributing the pieces on the plates. He puts the empty pot on the table and sits down, Sasha sits beside him, as usual.
“You didn’t answer me,” she insists, looking at him.
Occisor sighs, What’s the reason she wants to make dinner? She doesn’t like what I’m preparing? What’s left to satisfy this female’s palate? And if she doesn’t like it, why doesn’t she complain? He looks at her with suspicious eyes, trying to find some answer on her body. Sasha feels uncomfortable with that look and, as if she were reading her mates thoughts, she answers him.
“Where I lived, no one wanted to teach me how to hunt or prepare a meal. The least they interacted with me, the better. I like it better,” she says, looking at the meat on her plate. Even though I hated the cold and loneliness of my denin my daily life.
And why was I bothered whether or not she liked the food I prepared? This should be of no importance to me, he rolls his eyes at the thought and takes a deep breath.
Occisor remains silent for a few more seconds. All he wanted was just to keep his distance from her. He wanted to be able to kill her, but no, it’s all going the wrong way. Time is passing and now they even talk and he no longer wants to eat without her, making her help by setting the table just to prolong the interaction between them for a few more moments, and he himself distributes the meal in equal parts, and sometimes even puts more on her plate. He noticed how much more curves her body had gained in those ten days they were living together, her face now had smiling marks, and in his opinion she became even more attractive, to his complete despair.
“Tomorrow, I’ll teach you how to hunt. I just need to think about which weapon suits you. Uh. Perhaps…”
“I… Look, thanks for your kindness, but I don’t want to hunt like humans. I want to hunt with my own claws.”
“What a pain in the ass you are,” He rolls his eyes. “It’s much less tiring to shoot the food.”
“You don’t have to…”
“We’ll go into the forest tomorrow morning, before the sky is clear. The animals won’t be so attentive.”
“Alright.”
The smile on Sasha’s face makes Occisor admire it for a few seconds, however, he then shakes his head to take away the urge to know what her pink lips would taste like.
“Can I ask you a question?”
“Ask away.”
“What… What happened to you? Like, how come… Why did you end up living with two vampires?”
Occisor chews very slowly the piece of meat in his mouth. Sasha waited patiently staring at him.
“I don’t want to talk about it at mealtime,” he says and bites another piece of meat.
“Alright,” Sasha says and begins to eat as well.
Dinner goes on in total silence, the only sound is that of the meat being torn by both of their canines. After ten minutes, they both finish their meal and while Sasha washes the dishes, Occisor puts them in their place. Even without a word, the young woman is not so alone. And she still has the books. Now she just takes a large amount of books from the library and keeps it in a basket inside the room she shares with Occisor. He didn’t scold her or anything, just let her do whatever made her more comfortable.
When they finish in the kitchen, Sasha is the first to bathe. She loved getting used to bathing and brushing her teeth every day. Is good feeling clean and not having others wrinkle their noses when she’s around because of her odor.
She leaves the bathroom already dressed in her white gown. Occisor did not tell her that that piece of cloth hid her body very little, whenever she sleeps, he stays for a few moments admiring her. But he always scolds himself and turns his back to try to sleep. Now it’s Occisor’s turn to bathe.
Sasha sits on the bed and picks up one of the books, she is now starting to read the lycanthropic session books. The first book is about Mahni and Selene. She’s still in the part where they both train for the big day of the contest. When she finishes reading the second page, the door opens and Occisor enters only with a towel around his waist. Even though she has already gotten used to sleeping with a naked man beside her, Sasha still feels her cheeks heat up whenever he enters the room and takes off his towel.
He lays down and she smells the air, the smell that comes from him is very good. She takes a deep breath and stares him in the eye, so as not to let her eyes go stray and peers into another part of his strong body next to her.
“Uh… Now can you answer my question?”
Occisor takes a deep breath. He doesn’t like to remember why he lives here. He thought the whole world knew about this story. But by the looks of it, he was wrong again, his mate did not know his name or his history, even though he is now feared by all races.
“The moment I was born, I was rejected and expelled from the pack. My mother was accused of treason and then they hunted us down. An aunt of mine, her name was Ruby, a luna cimex, she went against everyone to try to defend my mother and me… But what could she do being the lowest being in the whole pack?” he says with an anguished smile. “They killed her and left her body unrecognizable. My mother couldn’t run anymore, she couldn’t transform because of me and because of that she ended up breaking her leg. Mary, she couldn’t save her, but she did what my mother asked her to do, and that was to save me. And I’ve been living here ever since, with her and Margaret.”
Sasha cries for him, her heart tightened. His story somewhat resembles hers, where the only people who loved her died so that they could free her from her father’s clutches.
A bang makes Sasha startle, thunder has cut through the sky and lightning lights the room. The young woman in a leap grabbed Occisor and hid her face in. his neck. “He’s so warm,” she thinks and squeezes him once more. Occisor widens his eyes for a few seconds, but does not stop her from continuing to hug him.
A great storm begins outside the base, at every moment lightning and thunder cut through the sky and illuminate the room through the window gaps causing Sasha to squeeze him even tighter. Occisor holds her at the waist and pulls her away just a little to look at her face. Her eyes are closed tight, her mouth a little open. She fears thunder.
As if hypnotized, he cannot turn his eyes away from Sasha’s small, heart-shaped lips, and as if they were magnets, he also closes his eyes and slowly touches her lips with his own.
Sasha abruptly opens her eyes a little nervously, but soon closes them again, her mate’s warm lips covering her own, lightly and delicately.
She opens her mouth a little more, giving passage for his tongue to pass. An explosion of feelings and sensations runs through their bodies, leaving them warm, and Sasha feels for the second time the point between her legs pulsing.
This is her first kiss, but also this is the first time Occisor kissed such sweet, innocent lips. The assassin surrenders to the charms of the innocent girl and hugs her tighter, bringing their bodies closer and letting her feel his huge erection, that cries out for release. Sasha grabs his shoulders as the kiss gets hotter and hotter. It seems that the reason disappears from the couple, although this is her first kiss, the young woman follows her instincts and mimics the movements he does with his tongue that devours her, leaving her on the verge of collapse.
Memories of the first time he was on top of her like that invade her mind, the memory of him rejecting her body and saying that she has nothing to attract him makes her sad.
“Stop, please,” Sasha asks with an affected voice when Occisor invades her clothes with his hand and reaches for her breast,. squeezing it lightly and feeling her hard nipple.
He looks at her a little upset and it seems that reason returns to his body, for he quickly leaves the young woman and sits on the bed with his back to her. They’re both panting. Occisor tries to get back to normal, Sasha lowers her nightgown and lies down with her back to him.
The thunder seems to have run out, after a few more minutes, Occisor also lies down. And the night follows with both their minds boiling with thoughts.
