The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 2436

Chapter 2436

As the time for the press conference drew closer, Ryan escorted Dr. Wagner out of the villa to Justin's car.

"Justin, let me go with you. I'm worried," Ryan said, lowering his gaze to Justin's calm yet somber face who was seated in the back of the car. His concern was visible on his face.

Justin's cold gaze was resolute. "No need, Ryan. You've already helped me enough. It ends here."

If Ryan continued to help, he would inevitably be dragged into the mess. Despite his inability to articulate many emotions clearly, Justin deeply valued their two decades of brotherhood and friendship. Ryan had finally found happiness with Carrie, and Justin wouldn't be the one to shatter their peace.

"Ian, no matter what happens, call me first!" Ryan instructed, knowing full well how stubborn Justin could be.

"Don't worry, Chairman Hoffman!" Ian readily agreed.

Dr. Wagner climbed into the car, taking a seat next to Justin in the back. Trailing behind them was another vehicle with a few of Justin's trusted men.

Two cars sped away in tandem, leaving Ryan standing in place, watching their departure with a growing sense of unease.

The luxury car raced toward the Salvador Hotel.

"Mr. Justin... Am I going to die?" Dr. Wagner stammered, trembling.

Justin's expression remained impassive. "Why are you asking that?"

"I betrayed Mr. Grant and completely offended him... He's already tried to have me killed once. How could I possibly survive this?" Dr. Wagner clutched his head in despair, certain his days were numbered.

Justin's face betrayed no sympathy, but he had no intention of letting Dr. Wagner die either. "Don't worry"

Before Justin could finish, a deafening explosion shattered the air behind them.

Ian jolted in terror, immediately checking the rearview mirror.

Justin's sharp eyes darkened as he turned to look. A chill surged through him.

The car trailing them had been struck by a massive truck that appeared out of nowhere, flipping violently through the air before crashing heavily onto the street, shattering nearby storefront windows.

"We're doomed! This is karma! Karma!" Dr. Wagner wailed, clutching his head as he sobbed.

Panic-stricken by the cinematic-level chaos, Ian stammered, "President Salvador, w-what do we do now?!"

"Floor it. Don't stop!" Justin barked, his voice hoarse but firm.

It wasn't a matter of abandoning their men-it was about survival. Justin knew that

stopping would only guarantee a worse fate for all of them.

The black Maybach sped down the road, but soon another car appeared, hot on their heels.

"Ian! Watch out!" Justin's sharp eyes caught the danger ahead.

Focused on the pursuing vehicle, Ian failed to notice a large truck speeding straight toward them from the front.

The threat was imminent-collision was inevitable.

Ian let out a terrified scream, yanking the steering wheel hard to the left. The Maybach swerved into a narrow alley just as a thunderous crash echoed behind them.

Justin glanced back to see the massive truck smashing into the black car that had been chasing them, the scene utterly catastrophic, like something out of an action film.

"Holy crap! That was insane!" Ian, drenched in cold sweat, felt an odd sense of exhilaration. "If I ever have kids, I'm telling them their dad was as badass as Fast & Furious!"

Muttering prayers under his breath, Dr. Wagner snapped, "Don't get cocky, Mr. Harris! If Mr. Salvador hadn't warned you in time, we'd be the ones wrecked back there!"

Ian was about to retort when yet another car emerged, blocking the narrow alley ahead. Clearly, it was part of the same group.

"Mr. Salvador... W-What do we do now?" Ian stammered under the weight of his panic.

Justin's piercing gaze burned with intensity. Flames seemed to dance in his pupils as he commanded, "Don't stop!"

He figured that they would not dare use firearms in broad daylight within the city.noveldrama

A gunshot would attract police and expose them through the countless surveillance cameras nearby. Their enemies could only rely on melee weapons to avoid leaving traces.

Ian gritted his teeth and slammed the gas pedal to the floor, aiming straight for the blocking vehicle.

But just as they surged forward, the Maybach suddenly sagged, its tires bursting. The car skidded violently, spinning 180 degrees before slamming into a building wall on the right, nearly tipping over.

"Damn it! A blowout!" Ian yelled.

Justin caught a flash of cold steel from the corner of his eye and sensed imminent danger. He shouted, "Ian! Get down!"

Simultaneously, he grabbed Dr. Wagner's head and forced them both to duck.

A sharp, whistling sound pierced the air-a steel-tipped arrow shot through the windshield, embedding itself in the driver's seat headrest.

Had Justin not reacted in time, the arrow would have skewered Ian's skull.
