The Billionaire’s Pretend Fiancée

The overdue gift

Chapter 99 The overdue gift

Roman

Smirking against Sofie’s lips, I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulled her closer to me, and easily slid my tongue into the warmness of her mouth.

I basked in the harmonious melody of our heartbeats uniting, and beating as one, as our tongues moved in a satisfying rhythm.

An uproar of cheers reverberated across the airport, with more cameras flashing on us as we passionately kissed, without making any attempt to let go of each other anytime soon.

Sofie moaned into my mouth, as I bit on her lower lip before breaking the kiss.

We bopped foreheads, as we shared a meaningful gaze with each other, and smiled.

“I love you too, cuore mio. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. And now you’ve given me another gift.” I whispered, caressing her abdomen.

“Roman.” She muttered.

“I was stupid to have said stuff like that to you. We both know that it takes two to make a baby. I should have at least be nicer with my choice of words. I’m sorry, cara. Please forgive me, and give me a second and last chance to make it right. I swear on my life that I’d make things work between us. I will never give you a reason to regret coming back to me.” I made an heartfelt vow, as I placed a kiss on the back of her hand, without straying my gaze away from her.

She pressed a soft kiss to my lips, and smiled. “I wouldn’t be kissing you if I haven’t forgiven you. And honestly, there is nothing to forgive. I shouldn’t have lied to you from the beginning. I should have come clean about the baby, instead of being overly paranoid about how you’d have responded.”

“We are not playing the blame game here, tesoro mio. Let’s put the past behind us, and start all over again. Just you and I. With neither a contract engagement nor keeping things away from each other. Regardless of how unimportant we may both think those things are.” I said, stroking her cheek.

“With our baby.” She added, and I nodded.

“Yes. With our baby.”

Our baby.

Those two simple words never failed to make me even more smitten with Sofie, whenever I heard them.

If someone had told me about a year ago that I’d be so happy, at the prospect of being a father, I’d have scoffed at them and rebuked them.

To think that I had been so against having kids since I was a young boy, and now a tiny, unborn being already had me wrapped around their fingers.

The world could be extremely ironical at times.

“Let’s go. Nathan should have arrived. He will take your luggage back home to our mansion.” I said.

Sofie blushed. “Our mansion?”

“Yes, cara mia. Our mansion, both my entire wealth and my heart are yours. I’m yours forever, my darling.” I replied.

Roman from a year ago, would cringe badly at the words coming out of my mouth, but I couldn’t find it in myself to care.

Now, I would make the cheesiest confession to Sofie without feeling an ounce of shame inside me.

As long as it made her flustered, and I also saw her beautiful smile.

“You’re mine, and I’m yours. I love you, Roman.” She said.

“I love you more than words can describe, baby.” I confessed, and planted a kiss on her forehead.

“You know I thought you had really gotten fed up of me when I didn’t get any call from you, for the past five days. I thought we were really over forever. I never wanted to leave, Roman. I was just really scared of a lot of things.” She rambled out, with tears rolling down her cheeks.

I grinned at her, as I gently wiped the tears off. “I know, my love. But you shouldn’t be scared of anything. I’m here for you, and our baby. I will never leave you.”

“I know. I was just scared of an accident like this happening all over again. I was scared of you losing your memories about me forever this time around. I was scared of really becoming a single parent forever. I wasn’t in my right senses at all.” She divulged.

I captured her lips in a soft kiss, before saying. “That will never happen again, Sofie. I will always be right by your side, my love. And even if my memories fail me, my heart will always know whom it belongs to.”

“I don’t know why I keep crying like a kid nowadays.” She said, cleaning her resurging tears off her face.

I kissed her temple. “You look beautiful even when you cry.”

She scoffed, and smacked my biceps. “Stop being cheesy. It doesn’t suit you.”

“Oh, yeah. So what suits me then? Being cold and distant?” I fondly taunted her.

“Being mine suits you best.” She blushed.

“And I’m the cheesy one.”

“Oh, shush.”

I just chuckled, as we trekked to the parking lot amidst the loud cheers, and murmurs, trailing behind us.

“Miss Sofie.” Nathan greeted, as he collected the luggage from Sofie and placed them into the car trunk.

“Nathan. It’s been quite a while, hasn’t it?” Sofie said.

“Indeed, ma’am.”

“Take care of the meeting with the Espinoza’s tomorrow. I’m going on an indefinite leave.” I declared.

Nathan just nodded. “Very well, sir.”

Afterward, Sofie and I left the airport in my Maserati.

“This isn’t the path that leads to the mansion.” Sofie noticed, her face contorting into a frown.

“Yes, I’m aware.” I chuckled.

“Where are we headed to?”

“It’s a surprise. An overdue surprise for you, my love.”

“Oh. What is it?”

“Telling you would ruin the surprise, won’t it?” I snortled, and she rolled her eyes.

“Patience is a virtue, my dear.” I added, as I squeezed her thigh.

She just darted me a look, set in between a glare and a sneer but didn’t say anything.

Moments later, I drove into an estate which housed the most luxurious buildings in New York City.

“We are here, baby.” I said.

“Are we here to visit someone?” She asked, casting me a confused stare.

“You will see.”

Afterward, we walked into one of the buildings, and took an elevator to the glass penthouse, at the top of the building.

“It is empty.” Sofie said, as we walked into the penthouse.

“Yes, it is.” I smiled, taking her hands into mine. “Because it is yours. You will sign some documents tomorrow, and the key will be given to you.”

Her eyes widened theatrically as she gasped. “No. This is too much. What have I done to deserve this? How am I worthy of such an expensive place?”

“Your mere presence in my life makes you more than worthy of this place. You deserve every gift in this world, both the ones money can buy and the ones it can’t. If you want, I’d build you an harem of gifts. You just have to say the word.” I said.

“You are so kind to me.” She cried, and I kissed her tears away.

“I could say the same thing about you.” I muttered, before closing the distance between us with a passionate kiss.

Sofie moaning as I slid my hands down her back, and groped her ass cheeks was like music to my ears.

As she swiftly unbuttoned my shirt, she withdrew from the kiss, and began trailing kisses down the crevice of my jaw.

“I want you to fuck me, Roman.” She whispered, against my jaw.

Her statement instantly sent blood rushing to my groin, and before I knew it, my cock became painfully hard.

It had been an extremely frustrating couple of weeks, since I had last been inside the wet solace her pussy provided me with, and I had missed it so bad.

“Your wish is my command, milady.” I muttered, hoisting her up, and wrapping her legs around my waist.
