One Hundred Sixty - One: Controlling the Pups
One Hundred Sixty - One: Controlling the Pups
One-Hundred Sixty-One: Controlling the Pups
Dustin
I am leaning back in the chair at work. The last two days have been an eye-opener. I am sure my mind
shut down when Satyira and Draydon walked in and set down three little wolf pups. Luckily I was not
the only one that was rendered mute. The room went dead silent. I couldn’t take my eyes off the three
pups. I couldn’t look away from the three of them.
“You ok Alpha?” Mykayla whispers in my ear.
She plops down onto my lap, and I smile. I open my eyes as she gets up and walks to the other side of
my desk. A frown spreads across my face. Why'd she get up?
“Why’d you get up?” I ask.
She looks at me with a raised eyebrow. I see a smirk on her face. I am not sure if that smirk is a good
thing or not. I am not sure if I should be worried or not. She puts a file down on my desk, and I look at
it.
“Remember you’re going to meet with the architect with the designs of the new packhouse and
cottages.” She says.
“That’s right. We are meeting in Kaleb’s office.” I reply.
She nods her head, and I stand up. We walk out of my office together and head for Kaleb’s office. I
already know that Mykenzie and Kylani will be present at the meeting. The architect and they will be
working closely, so they need to be here. Kaleb had better pay attention and not sit there and stare at
his fiance through the whole damn meeting. We get to Kaleb’s office, and Mykenzie, Kylani, and Bryn
are there. Nate and Kaleb are here as well. The girls look a little irritated. The architect and two other
guys walk in five minutes later.
“Hello, welcome my name is Dustin.” I tell the three guys.
“Hello and good morning. My name is Trey and this is Phillip and Andy.” Trey introduces himself.
Phillip and Andy are the two main guys that will be at the site mostly. Trey will be there if he is needed.
However, all decisions and changes must be run through him first.
“We thought that you all might like some coffee and muffins and breakfast burritos,” Andy says.
This perks the girls right up. I try to hide my smile. These guys are part of the firm that Poseidon and
are immortals as well. They know the girls and obviously know how to ensure they are happy. They
even have the girl's favourite flavoured coffees and favourite muffins. I really don’t care what they bribe
them with as long as they are happy and everyone gets along. The meeting goes exceptionally well,
and I approve of the designs. The girls seem to be fine with the designs as well. The girls leave to
check on the kids.
“Nice bribery,” Nate tells them.
“We have known them for years. I'd rather bribe them and make them happy than them be irritated.”
Phillip says.
“I do have one concern. What are we supposed to do if something happens on the worksite? No
offence, but if or when they get pissed, the three of us can’t stop them from killing someone. Let's be
honest; we also value our lives. We aren't going to get involved.” Trey asks.
“Don’t worry the only people I see pissing them off are a few of the newer members of the pack. I am
going to make sure that I have a couple of the guys are at the site just in case. I totally understand not
wanting too get involved.” I tell them.
I already knew I would have to make sure I had a couple of guys there to defuse any deadly
confrontations. I know the new pack still isn’t completely on board with training women. They were
impressed with our women fighters and warriors. Many men in the pack believe women shouldn’t need
to fight. Unfortunately, nowadays, that is not true. I know a few new warriors and fighters would love a
rematch with the girls, but I also know they are scared of them now. After those two cornered them and
almost killed them two, they knew not to mess with them. The meeting ended not too soon after that.
When we got home that night, the packhouse was quiet. I instantly became concerned. This packhouse
is never quiet. Mykayla headed upstairs to change out of her clothes and to check on the kids. I
wandered into the kitchen. Imyra and Araya were there cooking. I have no idea what it was, but it
smelled delicious. Mitchell, Jason, Tarlek, Xion, Zak, and Jace are sitting around waiting.
“Hey man,” Tarlek says.
“It seems awfully quiet around here. Do I need to be concerned?” I ask.
“No, they had a family meeting today. The girls weren’t happy because Chris made sure that Imyra had
the kids in her world visiting.” Tarlek answers.
I laugh as he tells me this. This must be a makeup meeting for the last one that didn’t happen.
Mykenzie and Kylani snuck all of the kids up to the meeting so it wouldn’t happen. It worked; I mean,
what grandparent is going to turn downtime with their grandkids? The answer is none.
“Imyra, I still a bit confused as to how Xaydyn is able to shift,” Zak says.
“Because of Mykenzie’s DNA and blood. Thanks to my wonderful husband and his brother the girls
have every known animal's DNA and blood in them. Plus they were Aphrodite’s original creations for
their blood is more powerful than other werewolves. I was actually surprised he could fully shift. I
figured that he might be able to partially shift, but I was wrong.” Imyra answers.
I sit there and think about that. It makes sense. Speaking of the little devils, Jordyn, Dominick, and
Xaydyn come running into the kitchen right then. Mykenzie, Kylani, and Mykayla walk in the right
behind them. They have both sets of twins. It’s still weird to me, but I can see the family resemblance in
all seven kids.
“How can Dominick and Jordyn be mates? WIth Mykayla being their cousin aren’t they cousins too?” I
ask.
For some reason, this just pops into my head. This doesn’t make sense in my mind. I have heard of
distant cousins being mates, but that is very rare, and they are very distantly related.
“In a way, yes, but I also didn’t choose them to be each other’s mate.” Aphrodite comments.
All of us guys jump at the new voice in the room. Damn it, every time. I should have known that she
was there when I saw Kylani smile. None of the women seemed to be concerned about another person
in the room.
“If you didn’t choose then who did?” I ask.
“Dimitri and Dominick. When they split the souls to protect my babies, they didn’t realize that any
children that they had would have the same thing. I just found this out a few days ago. I didn’t
understand either how those two could be mates and already show it this young.” She explains.
I hear Kylani and Mykenzie grumble when Aphrodite calls them her babies. I heard a few of the guys
present laugh. They also received death glares from the girls. They didn’t really react. We all know by
now when to be concerned that they are pissed. I keep watching the three pups, and since that first
time, they have not shifted again.
“We have made it so they can’t shift till they are old enough to learn how to control it.” Kylani answers.
“We can’t have them shifting in the middle of the grocery store or somewhere else in the general
public,” Mykenzie adds.
They have a very good point. I feel bad having to control their powers and abilities because they have
no idea what they are doing, but the girls are right. They have to be controlled until they are older and
can be taught how and when it is appropriate to use their powers and shift. I know that Mykenzie and
Kylani have it covered. I know that they have already said that they will be helping the kids train when
they get old enough. Good, our trainers are good, but learning from the girls will make them even better
fighters. I pick up Dominick, and he gives me a hug. He then squirms to get down. Mykayla hands me
Mariah, and she lays her head on my shoulder. I can only imagine what powers this little girl holds. I
watch the three play, and the other three start wiggling around. They will be crawling soon. I can’t wait
to see what the pack does in the future with these kids in charge. It should be interesting to watch.
