Chapter 215 The Angel Castiel
There is a thunderous raw that comes from above as the skies turn bright and light up the darkness of the alley. There is a voice that is coming from the center of where all the chaos is coming from, though it is not clear what is being said. Though what can be felt is that the heat is slowly turning up as this hazy fog of light seems to be coming closer to us now.
I can, by the looks of the faces of Dean and Sam, tell that they know exactly what is about to happen, but as for the rest of us, well, we are firmly under the impression that today we shall meet our fate. Just when I thought that I would not experience anything new around these boys, well, they never fail to bring something different to the table.
So we are standing in angst, waiting to be blown to shreds or, even worse, perhaps being eaten alive. Now we have just been down this road but a day before. I truly do not have the desire to die today. So being the only one that dares to move an inch, I walk closer to Dean that has now focused his attention elsewhere, rather odd.
“Please do tell me what the meaning of this is,” I raise my voice over the crackle of the sounds that are coming from this ball of light.
“Oh,” Dean only waves his hand towards this spectacle, “That is just him making a grand entrance.”
I only but cock my head, “Whom are you talking about.”
He grunts at me and steps back closer to where he has found a pool of blood, “That friend you want me to make peace with.”
I step back in horror as I look at him with my brows furrowed, “Do you mean to tell me…?”
“Yes, it seems that my dear brother has contacted the man without asking me first.” I can hear the clear irritation in Dean’s voice as Sam now steps closer to the very puddle of blood we are all staring at.
Then Sam looks at Dean, “Just say sorry to the man.”
Sam bursts out in a fit of uncontrollable laughter as he points into the direction of where the light is now starting to fade. “That,” he rumbles loud, “That is not a man. That is an Angel that is seeking attention. Now kindly tell him to stop his shit because we are all past being impressed.”
With that, Sam breaks away from us again and walks over to his Angel friend. I only but shake my head. “Well, I never thought in two-hundred-eighty years that I would be seeing two of them.”
“Oh, believe me,” Dean drops down to the floor to inspect this puddle of blood that seems to be fascinating him, “You are not missing anything where that one is concerned, but as for your Angel, the man is hurt.”
I look at him rather confused, “What do you mean that he is hurt?”
“It seems there was a struggle for his Angel blade, and he got knicked by it himself.”
My immediate reaction is to feel fear, but then the anger sets in; he is not only putting his life in danger but also that of Lilith. The man is reckless, and he has no idea what he is doing. So with this concern, I look at Dean, “Just get this man, this Angel of yours, to find Breyden. He is going to get himself, and Lilith killed.”
With that from behind me, nearly scaring me to the point of death, I hear someone speak, “He will not ask me anything.”
Then Dean looks at me, “Well, tell him he is right; I will not ask him anything.”
I look at both of them rather awkwardly, but then the Angel looks in my direction again, “And tell him that I will not do anything for him even if he has to beg for it.”
Dean steps two steps closer to me, “Tell him that I will not beg.”
The Angel steps two steps closer to me as well, “Tell him that it is not what Sam said.”
The moment that Dean is in my face, he nearly yells as he demands, “Tell him that I don’t care what Sam said.”
Next, I have the Angle right next to me as well, “Tell…”
“My god!” I throw my hands in the air, “Can you two not speak to each other yourselves?”
With that, there is a huff from both the Angel and Dean as they walk off in separate directions. I only but shake my head as I go to find Sam. With a head that is still spinning from a rather weird conversation, I look at Sam with eyes that can burn through his soul, “Is these two going to be a problem? I need to find Lilith, and I have no time for their little spat with each other.”
“Oh,” Sam shakes his head, “It was not a little spat. It was…”
Sam does not get a second to finish a word, and this rather weird Angel is finding himself standing next to me again. I must say that the man is rather creepy, and he dresses even creepier. I think that my beloved can give him some lessons, well not that I want to see a man in leather pants, but this whole coat thing is definitely making me feel rather uncomfortable.
Yet, I cannot help myself, “What do you keep underneath that thing?”
In a little as an inch of a second, the man rips, not one, but two Angels blades from this godawful dirty coat.
I only but step two steps back and look at him, “You sure do not mess around.”
Then Sam steps forward, “Our friend here,” he pats the Angel on his back. “Cass always comes prepared.”
“Well, do you think you can come prepared and find Breyden?”
“Now,” Cass looks at me, and I do say that he does look rather concerned, “You should know that I personally have not dealt with Breyden, but I know that the man is a handful and will not hesitate to try and kill me.”
“Yes, I am aware of his reputation, but he has my sister,” I start to explain. “Well, not my real sister, but I am sure you understand how things work. So please do you think that you can start going on this thing.”
Then for the first time in a few minutes, I see Dean finally come up to us again. He seems to have calmed down a bit, yet, he still refrains to make contact with Cass. As he comes to stand next to me, I just know what is about to come, “Tell him that Breyden would have healed himself recently; he can pick up his presence from there.”
Just as Cas is about to come towards me, I raise my hand and push it towards his ever-so-smiling face, “Tell him yourself, or don’t tell each other at all, but I am not playing your middle man.”
With that, Cass walks up to the main road and starts to scan the streets. His mere presence where he finds himself at the moment, and the way he has dressed himself, does make it seem that he fits in this very part of the city. And much to the amusement of Dean, there comes a woman walking past that shoves a Dollar in his hand.
“Well, fuck me,” I hear as Dean is nearly lying on the ground while the most godawful laughter is coming from his chest. “Now my day is completely made. Now let us go find this goddamn Breyden before I kill this Angel.”
And as we all head up to the main road, Cass looks at Sam and point in the direction of a side street, but I soon realize that he is not pointing to the street itself but into the northerly direction. It seems that it is, in fact, true that Breyden has not kept Lilith close to where the attacks have happened.
So we are soon finding ourselves navigating our way through the city, winding through the roads back to the City Centre. Now the aim is to find a very quiet Hotel where Breyden would have taken Lilith. And it is with this that we drive past each Hotel we see that takes us closer and closer to the location that Cass is taking us in.
Then we find our way to a quiet little side street with only a grocery store.
From the front, I hear Dean, “Here.”
There is a small Hotel that if you did not know you could find it here, then you would not even know of its existence.
This is where Cass has pointed to the exact location of Breyden, and it is here, outside a room that seems to be dark and deserted, that he has come to a stop. There seems to be no movement from inside whatsoever.
Have we come to a dead-end?
So we are all facing this room and looking at Cass to confirm that he is indeed certain.
And as he nods his head, it does not take me, but one…two…three….
And I burst through the door…
