Chapter 48 Adrian Is Jealous
“Farrah!” Germaine was enraged. A cold glint flashed across her beautiful eyes. “I’m warning you! You’re not worthy of the CEO! Stop dreaming! Stay out of my business!”
“Then stay out of mine too! Who do you think you are? Farrah was clearly annoyed. She was not the kind of person to back down easily. “You’ve been by Adrian’s side for years. Something would’ve happened by now if there was even the slightest chance between you two! It’s you who needs a reality check!”
Her words pierced deep into Germaine’s heart like a dagger.
The phone on the table rang at the moment. Farrah took it and glanced at the screen but didn’t rush to
answer it.
Germaine saw Adrian’s name on the screen.
Her breath faltered as her cold and beautiful eyes filled with disbelief. How could this be possible?
Farrah was aware that the number was displayed on the screen and purposely let Germaine see it.
She slowly picked up the phone and answered it after letting it ring for a while. “Hello, Adrian.” Her tone was soft like a gentle stream.
Germaine froze. She had never felt so devastated before.
“What are you doing?” The man’s cold and deep voice sounded on the other end of the phone. “Are you still at work?”
“Oh, yes,” Farrah responded perfunctorily with a smile. “Almost done. Is there anything you need?”
He couldn’t believe that she lied!
“Hurry home and make dinner. Your husband’s hungry,” he said before hanging up. The atmosphere around him grew intense.
Farrah was still smiling. “Okay, I’ll be home.” Her acting was quite impressive.
She calmly put away her phone and put 20 dollars on the table. “Check, please.” She then stood up left without glancing at Germaine.

Germaine frowned slightly and was still caught in shock. She had witnessed it herself this time, but she couldn’t believe what she saw!
Sandra came to her senses and quickly caught up. “Wait!” She quietly slipped her a business card and whispered, “Check your WhatsApp messages.”
Farrah took a cab and left. She sat by the car window with Adrian’s business card–in her hand and noticed a message from Sandra.
So, he had been here before for Sweet Sun?
She returned to Floral Spring Residences.
Kenneth had been waiting for a long time and rushed over as soon as Farrah got out of the car.
“Hello, Kenneth,” Farrah took the initiative to greet him and was slightly surprised.

“What did you say, then?”
“I…” Farrah suddenly felt a headache coming on. “Is he angry?”
Kenneth nodded solemnly.
“Okay, got it. Thank you for the heads–up.” She quickly said, “I’ll explain everything to him when I get home.
Kenneth reminded her, “The CEO has always been insecure. You should be more careful in the future.”
“Okay, I’ll keep that in mind.”
Farrah opened the door after heading upstairs. She saw Adrian sitting on the couch. His jaw was slightly clenched in anger. “Did you just get off work?”
“No, I’m not,” she said casually and set her bag down with ease. “I had treated Corey to dinner. He’s an old friend of mine. I just wanted to thank him. I stopped by Fairytale Cottage after that and ran into your secretary. She’s helping you to find the pastry chef who made Sweet Sun.”
Adrian gazed at her intently. Why had her story suddenly changed? It left him with no room to vent his frustration.
Farrah walked up to him. “I just don’t get it. You know I’m the one who makes the dessert. Why did you assign the task to her? Could it be… that you’re too shy to ask me?”
She met his icy expression and left him no room to criticize her.
Assigned the task to her?
He hadn’t done that!
“Don’t change the subject.” He suppressed his displeasure and fixed his gaze on her, “Your identity will be revealed one day. You’re my wife now, so you need to watch your behavior. It’s very inappropriate for you to have dinner with another man alone. Grandpa won’t be pleased if he finds out.”
Farrah glanced at him and asked teasingly, “Mr. Locke, are you jealous?”
