Chapter 3
In the mansion, Emerald was confused because of how her husband had treated her. Although she had already felt that something was off, she still didn’t give it much thought. She was cleaning the kitchen when she remembered how Jace talked to her earlier.
“You’re going to work?” she asked, earning a glare from Jace, who started to button his polo and get ready for work.
“Just because we’re married would mean I would stop doing my business too.” Jace snarled at her. The young Morgan didn’t understand that, so she asked.
“Aren’t we just married? Isn’t it natural for you to leave for work even for a few days so we will have time to be together?” She looks innocent, and Jace couldn’t help but feel uneasy. He had never liked any woman before, but his wife gave him an unfamiliar feeling.
“Are you that eager to get intimate with me?” Jace asked mockingly.
“No, it wasn’t like that!” she exclaimed. Although she liked her husband and wanted him, she didn’t dare admit that to him either.
“I didn’t want to touch you, bitch. But since you want my dick so much, I will let you have it.” Jace said, looking at his wife lustfully. He didn’t want to, but he couldn’t shake off his wanton feelings for Emerald. “Kneel,” Higginson commanded, confusing his wife.
Because Emerald wasn’t moving, he pulled her and forced her to kneel in front of him before he unbuckled his belt and unzipped his pants. He was pulling it down with his briefs when his wife asked, confused. “What are you doing?” She was looking up at him and tried to get up, but Jace stopped her on her shoulder.
“Open your mouth, bitch.” Jace commanded, scaring Emerald and, at the same time, hurting her because of the way he had called her.
“Please, Jace…” She pleaded.
“I am already pleasing you, so just open your fucking mouth!” He replied angrily, and fear engulfed Emerald, making her do as he said.
Because of his size, Emerald can’t take him whole when he thrusts his manhood in her mouth, making her gag. She was not used to it, so her eyes became teary until her tears cut down her cheeks, but Jace continued what he was doing, unbothered by her humiliated feeling.
Jace grabbed Emerald by her hair and continued thrusting until he cummed and spilled all his juices in her mouth. “Swallow them bitch!” He commanded as he pressed her nose so she had no choice but to swallow his release.
Feeling satisfied, Jace let go of her hair and returned to the bathroom to fix himself while Emerald was left on her knees, crying. She couldn’t understand why her husband was angry at her. She thought she was willing to fulfill her wife’s duty, and Jace didn’t need to do that to her.
“You do that to me every morning before I go to work; you get that bitch?” He asked when he went out of the bathroom and found his wife still on the floor, kneeling and crying with her head down.
Because Emerald didn’t reply, Jace grabbed a fistful of her hair, making her look up to him. “You answer whenever I ask you,” he said. The young Morgan was hurting, so she nodded, and that’s when Jace let go of her hair like trash before leaving.
Emerald wiped her tears after she remembered that incident. She was confused as to why Jace was so angry at her when they had just met when Higginson went to their mansion to choose his wife. All her life, she had been bullied and maltreated by her family, and she had never felt even once that she belonged.
Even the maids mistreated her even if they didn’t want to because of Emerose. She told them to hurt her, or they would be fired from their work. Without a choice, they would hurt Emerald. ‘Is this really my fate? Don’t I have the right to be happy? What did I do in my previous life to deserve this?’ she asked herself. Then she remembered Lucy, her nanny, who had always been on her side no matter what.
As far as the Morgans know, Lucy was an orphan, and after working for them to become Emerald’s nanny, she devoted herself to her and loved her just like her own daughter. But she had gotten sick, and Emerald would ask her father for money for her medication. She’s staying in the nursing home, but Emerald visits her often. She couldn’t do anything when her parents decided to bring Lucy there.
Young Morgan continues cleaning the mansion. She thinks she has no time to idle since Jace will only get angry when he comes home to a dirty house. ‘He’ll change. He’ll change when he sees my sincerity, and we will be happy, ‘ she thinks.
It was in the afternoon when Emerose came to their mansion. Emerald was shocked because she didn’t expect to see her. “Just as I thought. Jace doesn’t love you. He only needs someone to clean his house and do household chores.” Her sister said mockingly.
“I am his wife, and this is my duty. I am only doing what a good wife has to do to please my husband,” she replied bravely. But Emerose just laughed at her. She had just come from Jace’s office and knew that the young Higginson never loved her.
“Really?” Emerson asked, raising a brow. “I doubt that, Emerald. You are ugly and worthless; how do you think Jace will fall for you? Have you forgotten? You’re a jinx.”
“I am not!” Emerald replied angrily. She was done listening to her sister. “I will never believe you, Emerose.”
The eldest Morgan was shocked, but she shrugged her shoulders. She knew her little sister was easy to control. She has no self-confidence, so she knows it would be easy to discourage the young Morgan. “Don’t dream, Emerald. You know what you are, don’t expect anything and bring down Jace with you, just like what you did to our family when you were born. If not for me, where do you think you are now? Dad brought me to all his business dealings and caught those businessmen’s affection as a child. Even now, who has been facing the people? Isn’t it me? It’s because I am the lucky charm of our family.”
Emerald was gravely affected because she knew her sister was telling the truth. It was when their Dad brought Emerose to his business meetings that those businessmen decided to help their grocery company prosper right when she was a baby. Her nanny, Lucy, told her about that, but the old lady told her it wasn’t her fault that their father had been scammed. But the young Morgan grew up believing that she was a jinx.
“Now, as a visitor, get me something to drink,” Emerose said. Emerald couldn’t do anything but follow just like she always did. While the young Morgan was in the kitchen, her sister heard the sound of a vehicle and realized that Jace had come home.
“Here’s your drink,” Emerald said when she returned with a glass of orange juice. Emerose took it but intentionally let it slide on her hand, causing the glass to fall and break. The eldest Morgan picked up some broken glass and deliberately hurt herself, began crying, and said, “What did I do, Emerald? I just visited you to check if you’re fine because I know that your marriage is something you’re not ready for. I just want to help.” Tears were falling down Emerose’s face, making Emerald feel confused about why her sister was acting that way.
“What did you do!” Jace’s angry voice echoed in the living room. Emerald looked at him in fear and was starting to explain, but Emerose cried again, making Higginson approach her. “You’re bleeding,” he said, holding Emerose’s hand. “Let me take care of your wounds,” he told the eldest Morgan before looking at Emerald, who was stunned. “What are you looking at? Pick those broken glass and clean the floor.” her husband snarled at her, making her kneel and pick up the glasses.
Emerose was so evil that when she started walking, she stepped on Emerald’s hands, making the broken glass cut deep into her hands and bleed. “What the— wiped your fucking blood NOW!!” Jace shouted after seeing the blood on the floor before he pulled Emerose to the couch to attend to her wounds. The eldest Morgan was smiling internally because she had already confirmed that Higginson had no affection for her little sister.
The young Morgan was hurt when she realized the floor was more important for her husband than her well-being. She was hurt, but Jace didn’t even look at her.
