Chapter 27
Happy reading….
“Is Hera home yet?” Jayden asked without taking his eyes off the file he was reading that he had to sign immediately.
“Yes, sir,” said Roy. “But Mrs. Hera….” Instead of continuing, Roy kept his mouth shut there.
Not making a sound, Jayden looked up to look at Roy. “But what, Roy?” Jayden asked.
The man in the gray and black plaid patterned coat, instead, rolled his eyes, not wanting to look at Jayden. Makes the boss even more sure if there is something the man wants to say but he is afraid.
“Tell me, Roy! What’s wrong? Did something happen to Hera or Juan?” Jayden insisted.
Roy shook his head. “No, Mr. Jayden.”
“Then what is it? Why do you look so nervous like that?”
Roy took a deep breath. If he really wanted to hide it from Jayden, he shouldn’t have said anything. If it was like this Roy would have no choice but to tell everything to the boss.
“Mrs. Hera went home with Mr. Haidar Pratama,” said Roy looking at Jayden’s eyes indicating he was telling the truth.
“Haidar Pratama? Why did Hera meet Mr. Haidar?” Jayden asked confused.
“I don’t know, sir. My subordinates are investigating. But as far as I know they met accidentally at the hospital and Mr. Haidar offered to take Mrs. Hera home and Mrs. Hera accepted the offer,” Roy explained in a low tone but seemed firm. .
Jayden leaned back in his oversized chair. Even though he didn’t come home, Jayden kept an eye on what Hera and Juan were doing. Somehow the man felt he had to know all about Hera.
‘She’s still my wife.’ The excuse that Jayden made himself as a justification for his actions.
“Isn’t it just taking him home? After all, Mr. Haidar is my business partner, so it’s not surprising that he is good to Hera,” said Jayden, not wanting to think about things.
“Yes, you’re right, sir. But it doesn’t seem to be the case with Mr. Haidar,” said Roy and then handed Jayden his cell phone.
Even though he looked doubtful, Jayden still took the phone and saw what was there.
“That’s a photo that was just sent by my subordinates,” said Roy as an explanation. While Jayden was so serious looking at the pictures that were there. Where Hera and Haidar are together. I don’t know how it feels but Jayden admits they look like a happy little family.
“If indeed what happened between Mr. Haidar and Mrs. Hera was only because Mr. Haidar was Mr. Jayden’s business partner… isn’t that an exaggeration?” asked Roy. “I don’t really understand a person’s feelings but Mr. Haidar’s gaze can’t lie, showing interest in Mrs. Hera,” he said again.
Actually it’s not only Roy who thinks like that, Jayden does too.
Since their meeting at the party, Jayden began to suspect that Haidar was interested in Hera. From the way the man was staring to praising Hera.
‘Is Haidar really interested in my wife?’ Jayden thought.
Jayden returned Roy’s phone. He got up from his seat and took the coat hanging behind him.
“I’ll check it myself,” Jayden said leaving.
***
Jayden was like a scout in his own home. He parked his car outside the gate while staring at Haidar’s car parked in the yard. It turned out that what Roy said was true. Not only did he take Hera home, Haidar even stopped by their house. If it was only a business partner, Haidar should have met Jayden, not Hera.
The man, who was now clad in a shirt and vest, reached for his cell phone in his pocket. Look for someone’s number and call them.
“Hello, Bibi. Are there guests at home right now?” Jayden asked bluntly.
“Yes, sir. Mrs. Hera is having guests and now they are having lunch together,” replied the woman on the other end of the phone.
Jayden snorted. Look, they’re even eating together in Jayden’s house.
“You insolent bastard!” Jayden cursed, disconnected and gripped his phone tightly, making some of his veins stick out.
Jayden should have been in there. Beats Haidar for daring to approach Hera, his wife. But the man chose to walk away. Because Jayden himself did not understand what he was feeling right now. He was angry and upset but too proud to admit that he was jealous to see Hera with another man.
Some days Jayden kept himself busy taking care of all his work even though he had very little time with Elena. He left early in the morning and sometimes came home almost dawn.
Several times Jayden grumbled incoherently as his car drove back to his house and Hera made Jayden turn around when he realized where he was going.
“Unlucky!” Jayden cursed when he was in front of his and Hera’s house. “Why am I even here?” he asked someone and then stepped on the gas pedal to go to Elena’s house.
“Are you all right, honey?” asked Elena seeing her lover’s tired face.
“I’m fine just tired,” Jayden replied and then ate the food Elena made for him.
“Don’t push yourself too hard. You need a break too,” said Elena attentively, gently stroking the back of Jayden’s hand.
The man just nodded, pulling the corners of his lips into a smile.
Jayden wasn’t completely lying because it was true that he had a lot of work to do and it was exhausting him. But not only that, there was another thing that bothered Jayden.
Hera, the wife.
A few moments ago Roy again sent a photo to Jayden. Hera met with Haidar again at a cafe. What is the relationship between the two of them? Indeed the more Jayden thought about it the more his head felt like it was going to explode.
Maybe that’s what made Jayden unknowingly break down the wall between him and Hera. Jayden had been waiting for Hera to call for a long time to ask him to come home and finally he had a reason to come home.
The child is sick.
But it didn’t last long. Jayden’s anger rose again when he caught Hera secretly meeting Haidar until late at night.
The inevitable fight made Jayden even more frustrated. He stared blankly at the wine bottle in front of him.
“What exactly happened to me?” Jayden asked himself.
“Am I really jealous of Hera?”
To be continued….
