Chapter 9 Who’s Not Good Enough for Whom?
“What’s wrong?” Amanda held a folder in her hand and stepped onto the floor in her high heels. Her red dress was elegant and cold. Under the cold light, she was charming.
“It’s… it’s nothing…” Olinka looked pale but quickly adjusted and walked up intimately, holding her arm. “It’s just that you’ve changed so suddenly that I’m not used to it.”
“Then get used to it.” Amanda’s expression was indifferent. She withdrew her hand and turned to approach her desk.
“Hmph,” Olinka sat down opposite her like before and said coquettishly, “I still think that your previous look used to be the prettiest and intellectual I’ve ever seen!”
Amanda looked down at the contract and didn’t even lift her head. There was a mocking smile on her face. “Then you can choose that style.”
Olinka was taken aback, and her expression turned a little ugly.
“By the way, I have something to tell you.” Amanda picked up a document and pushed it over.
Olinka’s expression changed: Work transfer? Could it be that Amanda had discovered the relationship between her and Halley and was going to transfer her to another city?
“No! Are you angry at me? What did I do wrong to make you angry? I don’t want to leave you!”
Amanda ignored her string of coquettish words and only raised an eyebrow. “Open it yourself.”
Olinka bit her lips and opened the document.
“Amanda… you…” A complicated expression flashed across her face. “You want to transfer me to my brother-in-law’s side…?”
“Yes.” Amanda picked up the coffee on the table and took a sip. “You don’t want to?”
Greed flashed in Olinka’s eyes.
How could she not be willing?
Once she had more opportunities to please Halley, she could quickly replace Amanda as the young madam of the Sean Family!
But…
“Amanda, that’s not appropriate, is it?” Olinka pushed the document back. “I’ve been with you for so many years that I’ve long seen you as my sister. I can’t bear to leave you.”
Olinka rubbed the rims of her eyes and secretly looked at the indifferent Amanda.
Amanda was really strange today.
“Then I won’t force you.” Amanda opened another document with a resume on it. “I have another candidate. Since you don’t want to, I can only leave the opportunity to her.”
Olinka took a closer look.
The picture on the resume was of a young girl with bright eyes and white teeth. She was full of youth.
How could Halley still remember her when he had such a girl accompany him?
“Amanda!” Olinka couldn’t help raising her voice.
“What?”
Amanda lightly tapped her finger on the desk as if she had hit Olinka’s most sensitive spot.
“It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have questioned your decision.” Olinka suppressed her jealousy. “I’ll cooperate with my brother-in-law. I won’t embarrass you.”
Amanda smiled as if she was very satisfied with her decision. Olinka said, “I can pack up today and report to Halley.”
After leaving Amanda’s office, Olinka’s expression became serious.
Didn’t that photo arouse Amanda’s suspicion?
Or was Amanda so infatuated with Halley that she could bear this grievance?
“Why are you here?” Halley’s face darkened when he saw Olinka bringing belongings to his office.
Olinka closed the office door, frowned, and sobbed. “Brother-in-law, do you dislike me so soon?”
As Olinka’s soft body pressed against his, Halley sighed deeply. “That’s not what I meant.”
However, Amanda’s abnormal behavior in the past two days had made him very sensitive.
“Amanda transferred me to your side so we can meet every day, and we don’t have to sneak to cars or hotels…”
After Olinka finished speaking, she immediately raised her hand and groped Halley’s body.
Halley frowned, “Why did she suddenly do that?”
But before he could get a reply, his lips were blocked by Olinka.
When the desire was aroused, Halley suppressed the worry in his heart and played along with her.
However, Olinka’s face kept morphing into Amanda’s gorgeous face today…
…
“Miss Jewell, the door to Mr. Sean’s office is closed. Can you sign this document?” A financial staff came with some information.
Amanda sneered.
Olinka couldn’t wait to see that man.
After dealing with the documents, the financial staff left. Amanda found a number on her phone and dialed it.
“Yes, the kind with the highest standard… Come to install it tonight.”
That evening, Halley appeared in front of Amanda strangely and looked at her questioningly. “Why aren’t you off work yet? Shall we have dinner together?”
When Halley approached her, Amanda could smell the dense smell coming from him.
There were even red hickeys left on his neck.
Amanda felt a burst of self-mockery in her heart.
When she thought about it carefully, she had found such traces on Halley’s clothes several times in the past few years.
But at that time, she was naive. She always believed the explanation of Halley, believing that his allergic reaction just caused it.
“Hubby, I have to work overtime tonight.” Amanda slowly raised her eyes and smiled gently at him.
Her starry eyes were like pure water, bright and attractive without the cover of black-framed glasses.
Halley’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he reached out to hold her hand. “There’s no end to work. We haven’t been dating for a long time.”
