“HEY, dude, are you busy?” Helios stopped slicing his beefsteak and looked at Grant. “Why?” Grant frowned when he heard that Helios’s voice was cold. He can’t blame him or make him do what he wants because Helios isn’t used to being in that kind of situation. “Today, Zoe is going home, but I have a meeting. If you don’t mind, can you pick them up at the airport, if that’s possible?” Helios set down the fork and spoon he was holding with care. “Alright. What time will they arrive?” he asked. Grant then looked at the watch on his wrist. “Just wait until I call or text you. Still, Cindy hasn’t replied to any of my messages,” he said. So, he said, “Okay, I’ll just wait,” and he kept cutting his steak. Grant nodded and smiled thoughtfully, but Helios didn’t seem to notice. Helios had an idea all of a sudden. So, Grant asked him to come over because he wanted to ask him for a favor. Well, he will do it right away if Grant just tells him straight out. He doesn’t have to buy him a meal because he did him a favor. But Helios didn’t care about Grant’s clear plan and just jumped on board. He will also gain from the favor. He’s not interested in dating, but he’ll do his best to give Zoe what she really wants. If Helios’s mother was still alive, she might tell him how to approach a girl. But God took her mother’s life away from her too soon. And he was left alone with his horrible father... in the dark, trying to get away from that nightmare. It’s good that Zoe seems to have saved his life. He has friends, but he has trouble putting his trust in them. They may have been friends for a long time, but the trust has to be earned over time. Even though he has a lot of money, his family wants him to leave. His mother’s relatives said that the properties and businesses she set up cost a lot of money. But those properties are named after him, and he can’t sell them to anyone else. His father used to take care of everything, but now that he thinks he’s married, the old man has

already put everything in his name. Helios came from a strange family, so he won’t be surprised that everything he gets is safe. His father used to be a Mafia boss, but Helios has already taken his place. … Grant called Helios at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Zoe was already at the airport, Grant told him. But Helios already knew about it because he was at the airport when it happened. When his staff in New York told him when Zoe got on the plane, he went to the Los Angeles International Airport ahead of time (LAX). He was an hour early, but that didn’t matter because he needed to check out the area first. He needs to know that the love of his life won’t get hurt. He doesn’t know when his enemy will put their plan into action, so he has to be ready at any time. Security must be very tight. Helios was holding a piece of cardboard with a picture of the Levine Family on it. He stood at the entrance to the terminal so they could see him easily. He might be happy and want to kiss and hug the girl if he were just an average person, but he knew that the girl didn’t want him. So, he will just try to hold back his excitement. He didn’t have to wait long before he saw them coming. Cindy, Zoe’s friend, waved as they got close to his house. When Helios saw what Zoe was holding, he gave her a smile. The child was so cute. She looks just like her mother. The little girl had her pacifier in her hand and was trying to put it in her mother’s mouth. Cute. Cindy hesitated because Helios didn’t even notice that she was there. Helios didn’t tell Zoe that he was looking her way. He’s wearing sunglasses, which is a good thing. “Hi. I was tasked to pick you up,” he said. Cindy laughed. “I adore Grant now, Auntie Iris,” she said to Zoe’s mother. “Do you see, he knows about this? Okay, Mr. Lincoln, show us the way to your car,” she said in a clever way. The girl was then hit on the shoulder by Zoe. Cindy is acting again like a child. And she’s already

making fun of them. He turned around and showed me where his car was. When Zoe saw Helios, however, her chest shook. ‘Alright, she’s messing with her mind again. She thought that when they met, she would be fine. She was taken aback. She only knew that Grant would pick them up, but it turned out to be Helios.’ She will show that the man’s presence no longer has any effect on her. Who does she lie to? Herself? She knew it would be hard to say she didn’t feel anything because she was so in love with the man in the first place. Like Helios’s simple gestures—sweet gestures make her heart beat faster. ‘Damn feelings. Will I be vulnerable again?’ She wondered. She just gave her daughter a kiss and shook her head to calm down.
