Chapter 26 - The Secret Woman
Even when Jada and Lyken were still in a relationship back then, he never won against her when it comes to teasing or bugging someone. Though she's shy, she's naturally playful.
That's why he would often use his sulking techniques against her, just so she'd let go of him. And it's the same up to now.
Even before they stepped inside her condo, she asked him again about the woman who he was staying up late for, according to her. And despite her persistence, he still didn't give her an answer, because there was nothing to give. When she opened the door, everyone was startled to see her standing there, with both hands on her waist, "Who's Lyken's girlfriend? Speak up!" she asked, ambushing their friends.
Honey's mouth fell open, the rest of their friends either exchanged glances or creased their foreheads. Who won't be surprised? Everyone thought she attended an event then all of a sudden, she stormed into her unit, asking that. Robin laughed loudly when he saw Lyken standing by the door with his head bowed down, "Did you really stay and wait for the event to finish?" he asked while trying his best not to laugh. "You!" Jada pointed, startling him. " Robin Regalado! Don't change the topic!" she hissed as she narrowed her eyes at him.
Lyken was about to respond to Robin but he chose to shut up instead. She glanced backward before facing the group again.
"Aren't you gonna say anything?" she asked again when no one responded to her. When their friends remained quiet, she stomped her foot before turning her heel towards her room. Lyken slumped on the couch and raised both his hands, "I surrender! She just won't stop!"
"What was it about?" Honey whispered and he just shrugged.
After a couple of minutes, Jada came out of her room and went to the kitchen. She came back with a glass of water, but she stopped on her track when she saw everyone looking at her. "Tss..." she sneered as she rolled her eyes at them, then she went back to her room.
Honey and Kobe laughed. Robin shook his head as he nudged Steve. Even the pinks are having fun with Jada's antics.
"Tsk, Lyken, what did you do this time? You just made peace!" Robin asked as he clicked his tongue, teasing. "God! Robin, I don't need that right now!" he snapped.
Honey can't help but laugh. Seeing the frustration on the man's face, she creased her forehead at him. "Are you ok?"
He nodded at her before pointing at Jada's room and standing up, "I'll just check on her," he told them.
"Ja..." Lyken tried to call sweetly. He saw her in the mirror, checking her phone when he opened the door. But when he came in, she suddenly laid down and covered her face with a blanket. Shaking his head, he sat on the edge of his bed, "Leave," she ordered.
"No..."
Lyken was startled when she suddenly sat up, removing the blanket from her head. Her hair was a mess and she was frowning.
"I said leave," she repeated through gritted teeth.
He pulled her for a hug then she started tickling her. Jada started screaming, she was red as a tomato when he let go of her.
She then pulled the blanket and threw it over him before marching out of her room. She plopped on the couch, right in the middle of Kobe and Honey.
"Lyken's trying to molest me," she told no one in specific, pouting her lips and furrowing her eyebrows right after.
"What is going on with you?" Kobe asked as he placed an arm over her shoulders.

"Kobekins, Lyken doesn't want to tell me who's the woman she's staying up late for," she told his best friend, pursing her lips as she rested her head on Kobe's shoulder.
Kobe chuckled at her facial expression and even Lyken can't stop his laughter from escaping. But when she glared at him, he suddenly wanted to pretend he didn't do anything. "It's not funny Fontanilla," she snapped, rolling her eyes at him.
"What woman are you talking about?" Kobe asked again.
Jada told him where it all started. After she was done, everyone started laughing. Ada, Bambi, Kobe, Honey, Robin, and Steve didn't hold back, but Lyken had to.
He forced himself to suppress his laugh because he doesn't want her to get even more annoyed at him. When he saw her looking, he bowed his head down. She really can't deal with her when she's throwing tantrums.
"You're that woman!" Honey told her and Lyken's eyes widened in shock. He wanted to stop her from saying anything, but it was too late. "He wasn't able to sleep when you asked Bambi to throw the box that contained all the gifts he gave you when you were still together,," she spilled.
Jada looked at them, one by one, but no one spoke up. She then excused herself to go to the bathroom and when she came out, she sat next to Lyken without even glancing at him.
She started drinking with the rest of the guys, still not saying anything. After a few minutes, she excused herself again saying she was going out for a smoke.
She went to her room first, before going out. Their friends are starting to be talkative, laughing from time to time.
After 5 minutes, Jada hadn't come back yet so Lyken decided to follow her. She wasn't in the corridor when he stepped out so he went for the stairs thinking she went down.
When he turned towards the staircase, Lyken saw her. Sitting on one of the steps, with her head against the wall, smoking.
He let out a sigh before descending and sitting next to her. "Sorry," then she looked at him and smiled. "Ja, sorry if I ruined your night. I just feel like you don't really have to know anything about that," he explained.

Jada then leaned on his shoulder, breathing heavily and slowly, letting short sighs in between, "Ly? Am I a rude person?" she asked.
"No, why do you ask?"
She turned to face him and he saw guilt and sadness in her eyes. "Sorry if I wanted your gifts out of my house. I did that because I thought I won't be able to move on from you whenever I see those," her voice sounded coarse. Lyken wanted to hug her and he didn't stop himself. He pulled her towards him, hugging her tightly as she started sobbing.
"I'm really sorry Ly. I was already on the plane when I realized I didn't have to do that. But I can't contact Bambi anymore. I'm really sorry if I hurt you," she said nonstop.
"Shhh... You already made it up to me when you hugged me as soon as you arrived," he said, trying to calm her down.
She lifted her head and he started wiping her tears. "Thanks, Lyken," she said before hugging him again. "Don't worry Jada. I'll keep those memories for us," he whispered to her ears.
She pulled away from me and I saw her smiling. And with that smile alone, all my worries were wiped away.
Lyken smiled back at her. He was hopeful that his smile could wipe all her worries, sadness, and guilt away.
He held her hand and pulled her closer to him. Fortunately, she didn't refuse. That's how they were before he started courting her. Just like Kobe, he was her friend.
"You know I hate seeing you cry, right?" Lyken asked sweetly and she nodded. "Then please don't cry anymore, Ja," he whispered.
Again, she just nodded and hugged him, tighter. That simple gesture made Lyken's heart dance. 'I hope we can always be like this, Ja.'
