Chapter 21 Even the Executive Assistant Rolls In with Style
Gwen glanced at her phone, reading Jake’s usual commanding message, “Caitlin was in the wrong today, and I’ll make sure she apologizes to you. But you need to apologize to Sienna too!”
Fuming, Gwen muttered under her breath, “Is he out of his mind? What an idiot!”
After her outburst, she promptly blocked Jake and tossed her phone aside.
Yara gave her a mischievous grin. “Hey, aren’t you going to the auction with Henry in a couple of days?”
Gwen nodded. “Yeah. That’s the plan.”
“Then I’ll help you pick out a dress! Show me that legendary walk–in closet of yours!” Yara’s eyes gleamed with curiosity.
“Sure. Go crazy in there,” Gwen agreed with a smile.
THE WE
As soon as the closet door swung open, Yara let out a gasp. “Wow! This place is huge–bigger than that boutique loved back in Bellmont!”
The walk–in closet had a sunken design. It was spread across three levels and was filled with high–end fashion and luxurious jewelry from all the top brands.
Henry had ordered for the place to be renovated recently, and it had just been completed the day before.
“I thought my closet was already impressive, but yours? This is next–level!” Yara’s eyes sparked as she admired the gowns, awe evident in her voice.
Gwen held up a dress, glancing at her reflection in the mirror. “It’s not bad. If it gets too full, I’ll just expand it.”
Thinking back, she realized how young and foolish she’d been. She could’ve come back and taken over the family fortune much sooner.
As they chatted, the butler, Kenneth, knocked on the door and entered, followed by two maids pushing a rack full of
dresses.
“Ms. Lawson,” Kenneth began respectfully, “Prada has sent over their latest custom–made gowns from the upcoming collection. They’ve asked you to select what you like before it hits the market.”
“Got it. Just leave them here,” Gwen said nonchalantly. Then, pulling Yara over, she added with a generous smile, “Pick anything you want. If nothing strikes your fancy, I’ll have them send more.”
What was hers was also her best friend’s.
Yara’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she grabbed Gwen’s face and planted kisses all over it. “You’re the best!”
The closet was filled with their laughter and joy.
Meanwhile, in the Rolls–Royce, Jake stared at his phone, watching the message he’d sent to Gwen fail to deliver. His expression darkened, fury flashing in his eyes.
He slammed the phone onto the back seat, startling Caitlin, who was scrolling through her own phone in the front.
That woman… She had blocked him again.
Realizing he wasn’t going to get through to Gwen, he turned to Cedar who was in the passenger seat. “Still no word from Savant Group?”
Cedar already feeling the weight of the situation, wiped the sweat from his brow and answered cautiously. “No. They haven’t responded.”
Jake pulled at his tie in frustration. “What about Henry’s movements?”
“We’ve tracked him. He’ll be attending the Jeopard’s auction in Dornwick the day after tomorrow,” Cedar quickly

Jake’s brows furrowed. “Get everything ready. We’ll be at the auction.”
Upon hearing this, Caitlin perked up, eager to join the excitement. “Jake, I want to go too! I’ve never been to an auction before. Let me tag along and gain exposure to an auction event!”
Jake shot her down without hesitation. “I have serious business to handle. You’ll just cause trouble.”
“Jake! Please, let me go!” Caitlin whined, pouting and refusing to give up.
Seeing Jake’s firm stance, she turned to Sienna for help, batting her eyelashes and pleading, “Sienna, please help me convince him! I promise I’ll behave.”
Sienna, who had been pretending to sleep, opened her eyes and smiled sweetly. “Jake, don’t worry. I’ll be there too, and I’ll keep an eye on Caitlin.”
Considering Sienna’s assurance, Jake relented.
Dornwick’s rich and famous gathered in full force on the night of the Jeopard’s auction. A sleek Rolls–Royce slowly pulled up outside the auction house, and Jake stepped out, looking every bit the part in his sharp suit.
His demeanor was cold and commanding, and by his side was Sienna, who looked delicate and elegant, perfectly complementing him. They appeared to be the ideal power couple.
Behind them, Caitlin followed, nervously adjusting her dress as she exited the car.
Recognizing Jake, several business moguls quickly approached to greet him, but their attention was soon diverted by a commotion nearby.
“Savant Group sure knows how to make an entrance. Even their executive assistant has such a grand entourage,” someone muttered under their breath.
At that moment, a stretch Lincoln limousine pulled up, and all eyes turned toward it.
As the car door opened, Gwen stepped out, wearing a striking red gown and heels that clicked against the pavement, instantly drawing everyone’s gaze.
