Shattered Vows Shining Comeback

Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Restoration

“This is the ring ”

Sienna extended her hand, revealing a ring of a simplistic design sitting on her palm. Still, the sparkle it emitted was quite unique under the light.

The moment Jake gazed at the ring, he finally remembered that this was the only gift he had given to Gwen during

their threeyear marriage.

He still remembered Gwen asking him to slide the ring onto her finger for her back then. He had responded impatiently

with “I’ll do it later“,“⠀⠀

But Gwen stubbornly wore it for three years. She never took it off no matter what.

Sienna grew displeased when she saw Jake spacing out while staring at the ring. Still, she continued maintaining a gracious smile on her face.

“To think that Ms. Lawson left behind such an important item! Jake, should we return this ring to Ms. Lawson,

“Why should we return it to her?” Sarah cut in angrily. “That woman pretended to be demure and gentle back then! Now that she couldn’t keep up her façade after so long, she decided to leave and pretend to not know us! She’s nothing

but vile!”

“Precisely! When she first came to our home, I always had a feeling that she was up to no good!” Caitlin chimed in as

Jake’s expression grew thunderous. He gripped the ring box tightly.

The memory of that unknown man saying shit about going to a “love hotel” with Gwen made his gaze darken a lot more. An inexplicable sense of rage was quick to surge into his heart, making him even more annoyed and frustrated.

It appeared that Gwen had already found her next lover. No wonder she was in a hurry to leave.

In an icy tone, he said, “Throw it away.”

Since Jake had already given his order, Sarah adopted an unfriendly tone instantly. “He’s right. We should throw away everything that she’s touched in this place. Those things bring us bad luck anyway.”

Caitlin nodded in agreement as well. “Yup! Mom is right! Let’s just throw everything away and have them replaced!”

Despite his order, Jake didn’t do anything concrete. Instead, he looked around the master bedroom before giving the latest orders to the nearby maids.

“I don’t like others interfering with my personal style. I want everything in this room to be restored to the way it was in 24 hours.”

After that, he tugged at his tie impatiently before walking into his room so that he could start packing his luggage. Sienna paled instantly. She remained rooted to the spot, unable to register what just happened.

“Ugh! How troublesome! It’s just refurbishing the room, isn’t it? Why must Jake look so pissed?” Caitlin mumbled as she plopped onto the couch.

“That Lawson bitch kept changing the bedroom’s decorative style every day just so she could hure Jake into sleeping with her. But I never saw him scolding her like this before.”

When Gwen was still around, Jake treated her with disdain. Now that she was gone, he refused to let anyone touch her belongings. What the hell was wrong with him?

Sarah had always been perceptive. When she noticed Sienna’s mood souring, she quickly walked over and whacked Caitlin on the head.

“Shush, you!”

Then, she turned to Sienna and began comforting her to suck up to her. “Jake is quite a germaphobe. He doesn’t like it when others touch his things. Don’t take it to heart, alright?”

Sienna just tuned Sarah’s words out. Her gaze remained fixed on Jake’s form.

This was meant to be Gwen and Jake’s room after their marriage, so Gwen’s traces were everywhere. Since Jake slept in this room every day, it’d be inevitable for him to recall his previous marriage with Gwen.

But at the same time, Sienna knew that Jake was being serious. She needed to restore this room to its previous outlook

no matter what. That fact was enough to make her feel uneasy. Jake actually cared about Gwen more than he ever let

As Sienna watched Jake throw his clothes into a suitcase, she decided that it was time to keep an eye on him.
