As Ryan’s words tumbled out in a rapid stream, the atmosphere in the living room underwent a palpable shift.
“Thurled derogatory insults at Oona, branding her as cheap, a good–for–nothing idiot, an abhorrent individual nobody desires. I even went as far as to label her a promiscuous l’t, suggesting she’d been used and discarded before. I accused her of shamelessly chasing after Wesley, which I’ve always found utterly revolting.
Ryan’s admission hung heavily in the air, casting a tense silence over the room.
Both son and father, Wesley and Frank, bore grim faces, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.
In the wake of such vicious verbal attacks, it was no wonder that a member of the Walsh family felt compelled to retaliate with violence. To any observer, the responsibility for the fight lay squarely with the Dubin family.
Yet, Pamela harbored a distinct perspective on the matter.
“Despite my son’s potty mouth, he did not resort to physical violence. Simon’s actions are unforgivable. Furthermore, Oona just assaulted my son. I will pursue legal recourse, and your children will have to make amends for it.” Pamela fired back defiantly.
“The morals of the Dubin family are decaying day by day. Thank you for enlightening me on that,” Enoch remarked icily, fixing a cold stare on the members of the Dubin family.
His daughter had been subjected to malicious insults, leading his son to react defensively. Yet, the brazenness of the Dubin family to demand justice and threaten his children with legal repercussions was utterly appalling.
Enoch stood firm in his conviction that his children were justified in their actions. He harbored a steadfast belief that his son’s response was warranted.
If he had known beforehand of the situation, he would have intervened in the matter himself
His children were not to be underestimated or taken lightly.
Despite his estrangement from the Walsh family, Enoch remained a force to be reckoned with.
Seeing Enoch’s evident displeasure, Frank swiftly adopted a more conciliatory tone.
“My friend, Enoch, please calm down. Children are prone to making mistakes and speaking rashly without considering the consequences. I assure you, I will discipline him once we return, and I will make sure he offers a sincere apology in person.”
But just before Enoch could offer a response, Simon sniggered loudly, adding oil to the fire.
“As expected, a sixteen or seventeen–year–old giant child who still can’t think or stand up for himself, what a baby!” Simon’s words dripped with disdain.
Frank’s eyes twitched in response; the shadow of his figure that was cast on the ground seemed to grow larger.
Deep within him, a simmering anger continued to brew in response to Simon’s insolence.
Frank couldn’t help but mockingly remark to himself about Enoch’s inflated sense of self–importance in Brookville.
“My brother has wronged you, and it’s our responsibility to ensure he apologizes. However, Simon and Oona must also take accountability for their actions. They owe apologies to both my brother and mother!” Wesley declared firmly as he moved forward, leveling his stare at the Walsh siblings.
“Pift.” Oona scoffed derisively.
A wry smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she nonchalantly scratched the bottom of her ear. Leaning back with her arms crossed, she cast a glance down at Wesley. “And who else did you say deserves an apology?”
“My brother and mother. Then it’s fair for both families,” Wesley reiterated.
Noticing a subtle change in Oona’s typical demeanor, Wesley’s gaze flickered subtly with uncertainty

He was intrigued by the Oona before him, divergent from her typical daft demeanor.

Contemplating her beauty and composure, he entertained the notion that if she could conduct herself with decorum and demonstrate receptiveness, he might begrudgingly collaborate with her.
As this notion crossed his mind, Wesley was suddenly overcome by his senses, which were now spinning in disarray.
In the blink of an eye, a ‘bang‘ echoed through the living room. With ease, Oona tossed Wesley over her shoulder and brought his whole body, slamming down to the floor.
Before Wesley could even process what was happening, Oona had swiftly pinned him beneath her, her foot firmly planted on
his chest.
Inching her body closer to him, she regarded Wesley with a villain–like smile, her tone cold as ice. “It’ll be good for you to note that, in my world, apologies hold no sway. Whether you like it or not, you’ll need to put your pride aside!”
Christine and Enoch stood there in stunned silence, their jaws dropping in disbelief at their daughter’s audacious move.
