Chapter 1681
In the past few days, Priscilla found herself actively seeking opportunities to meet with Joe. Most of these encounters were work-related or involved delivering coffee, but she took them as chances to get closer to him.
Yet Joe's attitude toward her remained unchanged. He treated her no differently than the other two assistants-there was no special attention, no softer tone, and not even the slightest hint of extra kindness. His behavior was professional, and he was indifferent to her attractiveness.
The only time she noticed a change in his demeanor was when he spoke on the phone with Skylar.
Priscilla pursed her lips and lowered her gaze to her freshly manicured nails, her heart racing with anticipation. This business trip was her opportunity. She wanted Joe.
She was determined to become Joe's woman, even if it meant being a secret lover.
She glanced at the road ahead before turning to Joe. "Mr. Martin, up ahead is the largest rest stop on this route. It has a wide variety of dining options."
She had already checked the route before they left, knowing exactly where the rest stops were. Compared to her attentiveness, the other two male colleagues were somewhat passive.
Although their roles were well-defined, it was clear that in situations like this, being attentive and thoughtful mattered more. After all, this was a rare opportunity to travel on business with Joe, and everyone wanted to showcase their skills.
The two men glanced at Priscilla.noveldrama
Priscilla had been very proactive. Given her capabilities, it was no surprise that she had successfully completed the selection process and was accompanying them.
The two men exchanged looks, sensing that Priscilla's motivations might not be entirely professional.
"Mm," Joe acknowledged with a brief nod but said nothing more.
Lucas briefly looked at Priscilla sitting next to him before returning his focus on the road.
Priscilla subtly curled the corners of her lips into a smile.

The rest stop was bustling with travelers, and several cars were parked in the lot. It resembled a small shopping mall, offering a variety of dining options and shops. The group made their way to a sandwich shop, where they ordered a selection of customized
sandwiches, salads, and snacks.
"Mr. Martin, would you like some dressing for your salad?" Priscilla asked, getting up to prepare the sauce. She turned to Joe for confirmation.
Joe glanced up but said nothing. Lucas, ever attentive, quickly responded, "I know what Mr. Martin prefers. I'll take care of it."
Priscilla's smile froze for a moment, but she quickly adjusted herself and nodded with a smile. "Sure."
Joe often enjoyed sandwiches at
home. When Skylar had time, she and Edgar would prepare them together. Even Vivian would join in, making tiny sandwiches with her little hands far more skillfully than he could.
But the sandwiches they were eating now didn't compare. After a few bites, Joe lost his appetite.
He took out his phone and snapped a picture, sending it to Skylar with a message. "Not tasty. I miss the sandwich you made."
"Mr. Martin, would you like some
yogurt drink?" Lucas handed him a bottle of yogurt drink, one that doe typically had. It was usually stocked in the car.
Lucas had learned that Skylar and Vivian liked the yogurt drink, so Joe had started drinking it as well.
Joe took the bottle, opened it, and took a few sips.
Priscilla, who was sitting nearby, was slightly surprised. She thought, "Mr. Martin likes yogurt drink? Didn't Mr. Ziegler say he only drank coffee?"
What do you think?
