Gordon replied almost instantly, “Wait for me at that bus stop.”

Mayra texted, “Okay.”

She found an excuse to have the driver drop her off at the bus stop. Then, she instructed, “If Andy asks you about me later, tell him I’m with my classmates.”

The driver responded, “Alright, Ms. Sadler.”

Since it was only 6:00 am, they could still make it. After all,

Belchester High School never forced its students to arrive extra early for their morning classes.

Mayra waited at the bus stop for a while. Soon, she saw Gordon cycling over. “Get on.”

After hopping onto the bicycle’s backseat, Mayra tightly embraced Gordon’s waist. “Gordon, where are you taking me?”

Gordon replied, “To your school.”

Mayra sat sideways, swinging her legs and looking at him. “How did the competition go?”

Gordon said, “There was an unexpected accident.”

She asked, “Was it serious?”

“Nope. Don’t worry, it’s all settled now.”

He added, “What time is your class? Have you had breakfast?”

Mayra shook her head vigorously. “No.”

After taking her to a breakfast shop, Gordon asked, “What would

you like to eat?”

She said, “I want to share a portion with you. I can’t eat much.”

“Sure.*

Gordon ordered a large portion of pancakes, two glasses of soy milk, and a bowl of cereal.

They both took their seats. In school uniform, Mayra smiled and revealed her dimples. Then, she caressed Gordon’s face as she whined, “Gordon, it’s only been two weeks since we saw each other. How did your skin get more tanned again?”

She took a bottle of sunscreen from her backpack and squeezed some onto her hand. “Gordon, if you keep getting sunburned, your skin might not be fair anymore.”

“You… don’t like it?” Gordon pursed his lips and gazed intently at

her.

Mayra smoothed the sunscreen on his face. She noticed Gordon’s expression becoming nervous as if he thought she was going to break up with him.

Regardless of the people around her, Mayra leaned forward and kissed him gently on the lips. “This is my first kiss. Will you still ask me if I like you or not?”

“Y–You’re… messing around!” Gordon instantly widened his eyes as he awkwardly pulled away from her. But his flushing ears had revealed his shyness.

“Gordon, now that we’ve kissed… you have to take responsibility for me in the future!”

Gordon looked at her with determination. “Okay.”

She smiled. “From now on, you must make lots of money and give

it all to me. I want to have countless money to spend. Besides you, money is my favorite thing.”

Gordon replied, “Sure.”

This was a promise he gave her.

The breakfast portion was still too large. Mayra put her unfinished pancake onto Gordon’s plate. He didn’t mind and finished it up.

Gordon left after sending Mayra to school.

Mayra thought she was already late. But to her surprise, Serena got out of the car at the same time as her.

It was the same car Serena got into after school yesterday.

“Mayra!” Serena’s figure was undeniably good. She exuded a mix of innocence and allure with her loose hair and school uniform. Like a seductress, she could even get close to Anderson, who rarely accepted contact with women.

Serena approached and asked, “Was that guy your boyfriend? I heard you calling him Gordon.”
