Remorse After Breaking Up

Chapter 443

Chapter 443

Sebastian had taken Cassandra's innocence, and she should have despised him for it. At first, she did. But as time passed, she discovered he was an extraordinary man, and her heart gradually opened to him.

She felt the first flutter of love, but he was dead before she could fully embrace it. "Sebastian, I will avenge you," she vowed quietly.

Soon, Lana learned of Sebastian's death from Cassandra. The news devastated her, and she cried until she lost consciousness.

Bruce, too, was heartbroken. "Sebastian, I will avenge you. Rest in peace."

In just half a day, word of Sebastian's death spread like wildfire across Phaedra Island. Soon, Drakaria, Hydra, Lillian, Esme, and others had heard the news and were grieving.

Lillian and Hydra were especially devastated. Their deep feelings for Sebastian made it almost impossible for them to accept the harsh reality of his death.

On the contrary, Julian, Bradley, and the others were in high spirits and celebrated. Even the Osborne family, the Lloyd family, the Novastar Organization, and the Dragonheart were reveling in the news.

Amidst the vast ocean, a large ship sailed through the waves. Several young men and women stood on the deck, chatting and enjoying the breeze.

"Hey! Do you see a person over there?" one woman suddenly pointed out.

In the distance, a dark shape bobbed on the water. It was too far to make out clearly, but it looked like a person.

The man beside her said, "The nearest island is ten nautical miles away. It's probably a body that was dumped after a murder. Just ignore it. Anyway, the sharks will take care of it."

"We should check it out. What if that person is still alive?" the woman insisted.

"Artemis Strauss, you should know better. Even if it's a living person, they'd be dead by now," Clara Strauss said. The others nodded in agreement.

Despite knowing that the odds were slim, Artemis' compassion led her to act. She told the captain to steer the ship closer and ordered the crew to pull the figure out from the water.

"I don't get it. What's the point of retrieving a corpse? What a bummer!" Clara said disdainfully.

"Yeah, look at how bloated he is. He's probably been floating for ages, and he smells terrible." Bethany Claude pinched her nose in disgust.

"No, he's still breathing."

Artemis checked to see if the man was still breathing and felt a faint breath. Overjoyed, she quickly called for help. "If you're so eager to save him, then do it yourself. I'm not touching that disgusting thing," Clara said disdainfully. The others quickly covered their noses, making it clear that they had no intention of helping.

Artemis had no choice but to take matters into her own hands. Using her basic first aid skills, the man slowly opened his eyes.

"You're awake." A satisfied smile spread across Artemis' face. She felt a deep sense of fulfillment from bringing someone back from the brink of death.

"Who are you? Where am I?" the man asked, confused.

"I'm Artemis Strauss. You're on a ship. I rescued you from the ocean," she explained.

"Thank you," he said.

"What's your name? How did you end up in the water?" Artemis asked curiously. "I'm..."

The man suddenly fell silent. He couldn't remember anything about himself.
