Remorse After Breaking Up

Chapter 441

Chapter 441

Edwin walked over slowly. "Go ahead and run."

Sebastian turned around to face him. His eyes blazed with lethal intent. "Edwin, don't force me into a corner. If I'm forced to fight to the end, I'll take you down, too."

Edwin's face briefly showed a hint of fear before quickly regaining his composure. "Brat, you can't fool me. If you're capable, you wouldn't be running away."

"If you don't believe me, then bring it on. Let's see if I can cut your fucking head off!" Sebastian shot back coldly. He was cornered on a jutting cliff, with Edwin blocking his only escape route. It was a do-or-die battle.

"Don't try to fool me with your bravado. I'm eager to see if you've got what it takes to kill me." Edwin wasn't easily intimidated. With a contemptuous grunt, he unleashed a powerful sword strike.

He kept his distance and opted to strike from afar. This strategy allowed him to attack without closing in. It also gave him the advantage of retreating quickly if things went sideways.

Sebastian couldn't evade the attack, so he raised his dagger in defense. Edwin's strike landed with a thunderous crash, numbing Sebastian's arm and causing his inner energy to surge wildly.

"I'm eager to see how many of my strikes you can endure." Edwin smirked as he unleashed a series of sharp, relentless sword energy.

Sebastian raised his dagger as he struggled to defend against the relentless onslaught. Each block was a Herculean effort, and he could barely maintain his defense.

After deflecting a dozen strikes, he faltered and retreated half a step. The misstep nearly caused him to lose his balance, and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

Edwin's smirk widened upon seeing Sebastian's predicament. "You've got nowhere to run. Answer my questions honestly, and I might spare your life."

"What do you want to know?" Sebastian asked.

While he was fleeing earlier, he took a serpentilol. It was a powerful pill that enhanced his cultivation and replenished his energy. He took this opportunity to focus on circulating and refining his internal energy. "How did you cultivate to this level at such a young age?" Edwin asked curiously.

"Well, it's a combination of my exceptional talent and the help of some powerful pills," Sebastian said.

"What kind of pills?" Edwin demanded.

This was the answer Edwin was most eager to uncover. Sebastian's extraordinary abilities at a young age couldn't be solely attributed to talent. Edwin was sure there was a hidden secret behind Sebastian's strength.

"This one." Sebastian pulled out another Serpentilol just as a breeze carried its enticing scent through the air. Edwin quickly took a deep breath and felt a rush of energy stir within him. His eyes widened with fascination." Give me the pill, and I'll spare your life. I might even share a secret with you."

"What secret?" Sebastian asked curiously.

"Do you know how your mentor died?" Edwin asked with a sly grin.

"What do you mean? Are you saying there's another reason behind his death?" Sebastian asked.

"Of course. Your mentor was a grandmaster and roughly my age. It's hard to believe he died so young without something else at play."

"He was poisoned while researching pills in his early years," Sebastian said.

Edwin's lips curled into a mocking smile. "He was feeding you a lie. He was the top pharmaceutical scientist on Phaedra Island. It's unlikely he was poisoned. Someone must have done it deliberately."

"What?" Sebastian was shocked.
