Chapter 243
Chapter 243
When Hannah heard what Jessica said, she wanted to say something but stopped short when she noticed that the reporters were approaching.
Hannah knew it was not the perfect time for joking, so she drove away with Jessica right away.
Not long after the car drove out of the hotel, Hannah looked at the rearview mirror and could not help but snort. “Well, well, Jess. You’re indeed something. I think Terry is quite obsessed with you.”
Jessica also saw the car that was closely following through the rearview mirror. She looked up slightly and said, “Eyes on the road. You were stopped by a cop last time you drove me, weren’t you?”
Hannah found it hard to argue. How could Jessica tease her like that? Every time!
Hannah didn’t dare to provoke Jessica anymore. Just then, the traffic light turned green, so Hannah started the car again and drove forward.
Fifteen minutes later, the car stopped outside Jessica’s apartment.
Hannah pursed her lips and said, “Alright, I won’t disturb you any longer.”
Hannah knew that Terry must have had something to say since he had been following them all the way here. Thus, Hannah decided to leave them alone.
Jessica rolled her eyes. “Alright, go back and enjoy the gossip.”
The news of what happened tonight must have already spread. Jessica wondered what comment the netizens would make.
Jessica had just gotten out of the car when she saw Terry.
Before the wedding started tonight, she paid attention and did not see Terry among the guests. Jessica thought that Terry would not show up tonight. Yet she did not expect him to suddenly appear during the ring exchange.
Jessica actually did not want to make a scene at the wedding today. Justin had plotted against her, so she wanted to fight back.
As long as Luna was married to Lucas, things would be different. Even if Justin wanted to drive Luna away, he would have to stand the pressure. In that case, Justin would have to suffer a lot.
Yet what happened tonight was also fine. The conflict burst out in advance. It was reasonable that Justin fainted at the wedding.
From another perspective, Jessica knew that Lucas would be so mad at her. But the wedding was not completed, after all.
Thus, deep down, Jessica still felt relieved.
Even though Jessica knew that there wouldn’t be any chance of Lucas and her getting back together, Jessica didn’t regret what she had done.
But still, Jessica still felt a bit sorry for Lucas.
Thus, Jessica didn’t stop Terry from unveiling the fake bride. Instead, she let him uncover the lie.
Having thought of that, Jessica was in a much better mood.
“Anything you wanna tell me?” Seeing that Terry was silent, Jessica took the initiative to speak.
Terry shook his head with a smile. The smile in his brown eyes was gentle as if he wanted to drown her in his smile.
Jessica could barely hold herself back after a single glance at his smiling eyes.
Terry paused and added, “Although I knew that you might not be the one on the stage, I still couldn’t control myself.”
He believed that Jessica was not going to remarry Lucas.
But even so… Even though he knew that she was just putting on a show, he still could not see her and Lucas exchanged their
rings.
Jessica did not see this coming. She glanced at Terry, trying to say something. But before she could speak, Terry asked, “Jessica, don’t love him anymore, okay?”
Jessica found Terry’s request familiar. She had told herself the same line millions of times.
But in fact, she could not control whom to love at all. Jessica sneered, mostly at herself. Then she looked at Terry and asked, “If you don’t want me to love him anymore, who do you suggest I love? You?”
Terry hadn’t expected Jessica to say that. He paused for a moment, and after he reacted, he lowered his head and smiled. “I’d love that.”
When he smiled, there was light in his eyes and in the light was Jessica.
Jessica felt a little uneasy under his gaze. She turned her head away and said, “It’s getting late. I’d probably go up and get ready for bed.”
“It’s 8:30 pm.” Terry looked at his watch and then looked up at Jessica.
It was actually still early, and Jessica’s excuse was indeed a little clumsy.
Feeling a little embarrassed, she glanced at Terry and said, “Or, come up for a cup of coffee?”
Terry lowered his eyes and smiled. “Alright.”
Jessica wasn’t picky about coffee. Thus, she brewed what she usually had for Terry. She used some milk, too.
“No sugar.”
Terry looked at her. “Perfect for me.”
