Chapter 31 Chapter 31. Nelly’s POV.
Aisha and | huddled together in the shadows, trying to stifle our laughter as we watched her body turn a bright shade of red. We held our breath, the tension in the air palpable as we waited for the inevitable.
Suddenly, her eyes darted in our direction, and we knew we'd been caught. | felt a rush of satisfaction, knowing we had gotten away with our prank. But that satisfaction was short-lived, as | saw the fury in her eyes. | knew we were in for it now.
Aisha grabbed me by the collar and dragged me out of our hiding place. We both stood before her, our hearts racing. “How dare you!” she said, her voice strangled with anger. | couldn't help but burst out laughing, the absurdity of the situation hitting me like a ton of bricks.
“You can’t even talk!” | teased, my laughter echoing through the room. Emily rolled her eyes and took a deep breath, drinking some water to calm herself down.
| crossed my arms, trying to appear confident in the face of her anger. “This is just a taste of your medicine,” | said, my voice firm. “I can play this game too.” “How dare you,” she roared at me.
“Shh!” | hissed, my voice low and threatening. | held my ground, refusing to be intimidated. “Don’t you dare raise your voice at me,” | said, trying to sound in control.
She rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed by my bravado. “Who the hell do you think you are?” she barked, her voice echoing through the room.
“lam the lady you wish you could be. | am the lady you crave to be, to have what | have,” | said, my words cutting through the air like a knife.
“Over my dead body would | ever wish to be like you.” she said, her voice shaking with anger? “You are nothing but a slut.”
Aisha’s expression was one of pure rage, and | could see her hands trembling at her sides. She took a step towards Emily, But before she could reach me, | stepped in front of her, blocking her path.
“Calm down,” | whispered to Aisha, hoping to de—escalate the situation. But it was too [e)

| turned to Emily, my voice shaking with anger. “You just called me a slut,” | said, my words cutting through the silence like a razor. “Well, | am that slut you wish you could be. You crave Alpha Kex’s touch, but guess who he moans for? Me.” | said, raising my shoulders in defiance.
| saw the rage in her eyes, her fists clenched at her sides. “I have never seen a shameless person like you,” she said, her voice dripping.
“You are the one who is shameless, running around and throwing yourself at a man who doesn’t even look your way,” | said, my words dripping with venom.
“He wants me,” she barked, her face contorted with anger. “Oh, please,” | scoffed. “Spare me that crap. We both know that he sees you as nothing more than a sister.”
She narrowed her eyes, her hands balled into fists at her side. “If you think that, then you are even more foolish than | thought,” she said, her voice cold and threatening.
“Oh, | see,” | said, folding my arms across my chest and taking a step towards her. “You pose yourself as Luna, but Alpha Kex has never once introduced you as such. So who is the real fool here?” | asked her, a smirk playing on my lips.
She was clearly taken aback by my words, her face flushing a bright red. “As if you are one to talk, he has not introduced you too as his Luna yet,” she retorted, her voice quivering with anger.
“At least I’m not going around pretending to be something I’m not. And I’m certainly not interested in being Luna,” | replied to her with a sly smile.
“Because you know you will never be Luna. It’s not a position for someone as low as you,” she sneered, her words dripping with venom.
| opened my mouth to retort, but from the corner of my eye, | saw Alpha Kex standing at the top of the stairs, watching us. | kept my gaze fixed on her, a sly grin forming on my lips.
“Here, take this,” | said in a sweet, caring tone, passing her a cup of water. She pushed my hand away, and the glass of water spilled onto the floor, the sound echoing through the room,
Instantly, Alpha Kex was standing beside us, his eyes blazing with anger. “How dare you do that, Emily!” he roared, his voice thundering through the room.
She gasped, her eyes wide with fear. | watched as she struggled to swallow the lump in

I stood still, not knowing what to do. It seemed as if time had frozen, the tension in the room so thick that it was suffocating.
Alpha Kex’s grip tightened on her arms, his jaw clenched in fury. “She was offering you water and all you could do was to push it,” he roared. “How dare you?” he growled.
“|-I...did....n.ot. Push the water,” she stuttered, unable to find the words to defend
herself.
“Liar!” Aisha exclaimed, her voice shaking with anger.
| couldn't help but chuckle, enjoying the drama unfolding before me. The tension in the room was suffocating, but | couldn’t look away. It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
Alpha Kex released his grip on her and ran a hand through his hair, his eyes narrowed. He turned to me, his gaze as sharp as a knife. The smile on my face vanished, and my throat tightened.
He shifted his gaze back to Emily, who was staring at the floor, her eyes full of fear. The silence was deafening, and | could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
“What happened to you?” Alpha Kex asked, his voice full of concern. “Nelly added something to my food without me knowing, and | ate it,” she said, her voice quivering.
Alpha Kex turned to me, his eyes full of accusation. | held Aisha’s hand, | squeezed her hand. | knew we had to think of something quickly, before the situation spiraled out of control.
“Nelly, why did you do it?” Alpha Kex asked, his tone firm.
| could feel my hand trembling in mine. “Aisha had prepared the food for me, and | went to get her when | was done. But when | came downstairs, | saw Nelly eating,” | explained, my heart racing.
Alpha Kex stared at me, his face unreadable. Without a word, he turned and walked away, taking Emily with him, | stood there, my mind racing, not knowing what to do.
Aisha looked at me and smiled, her eyes twinkling. “We did it!” she exclaimed, her voice full of excitement. “Do you think he believed us?” | asked, my voice tinged with uncertainty.
“Why wouldn't he?” she replied, her confidence unshaken.

| struggled to find the words to respond. | was so relieved that our little ruse had worked, but a nagging doubt lingered in my mind.
What if he has been standing there for a long time?
