Chapter 60
"Today is the day you will die, Alpha Leo snarled at me and I covered in fear.
The day I poisoned the wine he had with Ama in this sanctum with shadowsting. I made sure I sneaked in the antidote into his food before he drank the wine because I wanted him alive. Was this how he wanted to repay me?
Well, he had no idea that I had given him an antidote or that I hal poisoned his wine in the first place. But now that it seems that Rita's no longer in the picture, he should at least give me a chance. I could love him better than Amma or Rita or the both of them combined. I just wanted to be his Luna. Was that too much to ask for?
"B-but I have no hand in her death, 1 began to shed crocodile tears. I knew how hard it was to deceive Alpha Leo, I also knew. that I was good at deceiving and manipulating people, so I still had a chance of escaping his wrath.
I would deal with how I could seduce him later.
"Lies" Alpha Leo strode slowly toward me. I noticed his aura had changed. He looked like he had seen a ghost.
No, scratch that. He was like a ghost. He looked soulless. Rita on the ground, possibly dead, had frozen the blood that flowed through his veins.
You're spilling lies," He yelled.
gulped.
nt work."
"Like you killed Ama, you want to kill Rita. And, Ivy Nicholas, I swear on my parents' grave, it would not
Blood drained from my face and I turned pale. How did he know I killed Ama. I began to fidget. Did he know that I had poisoned his mates? But, how did he know?
I looked around, thinking of a way to escape from here before trying to figure out what was on Alpha Leo's mind, but there was no way I was going to escape from this Alpha. With him, it is always a case of trying not to get caught, because the day you get caught, you're never escaping.
I resorted to begging
"Alpha, please I know this looks somehow, but trust me. It is not what you think it is. I only came here because your Luna was pleading with me to bring her in here. I had no other choice
Now, Alpha Leo was only a little bit away from me. He stopped walking and looked down and at my face with a scowl on his face.
Without saying anything, I watched him raise his hands. I opened my mouth to continue pleading with me, but before t could do so, his hand landed on my head and I blacked out.
I woke up to find myself lying on the floor of a dimly lit and empty room. From the excruciating pain I felt whilst trying to sit up and stretch my limbs, I could tell that I was thrown into this place.
I finally managed to sit up straight and I looked around. My eyes fell on bars instead of a door, and then it dawned on me. This place was not just a room. This place was a dungeon in the Alpha's mansion.
1 froze.
This was more serious than I thought.
I was no longer sure if would still be alive before the week run out.
"Get us out of here, Paige, my wolf growled. That Alpha might kill us and I don't want us to die because of a stupid mistake of yours"
I frowned, annoyed at Paige's words. "Mistake? Everything I do is for our good. Don't you want to have power over other
wolves?"
"Well, we are in Leo's Dungeon now, Paige grunted. "We could have just stuck to our mate. He is not as rich and influential as Alpha Leo, but he was still our mate, but no, you foolishly rejected our mate, so you can pursue what was not ours"
"I picked that trait from you. Wicked wolf, we both know you're not a saint and you have been the one pushing me to do some of the bad things I do. I was infuriated. I wish I could separate the stupid wolf from me and beat her up.
Well, if that could happen. Paige will beat me up, but that would definitely not stop me from trying to beat the wolf up. Just so you know, a werewolf's wolf counterpart is a portion of his or her personality, Just that we, the wolf counterpart, share a deeper bond with mates and you rejected ours. I was hurt. You got hurt. Like that wasn't enough, you still went ahead
01
'Stupid wolf, be gone. I blocked her from talking to me. She was pissing me off. She, talking about the useless mate given to me by the moon goddess was just the height of it.
What was special about Rita or Ama? What made them eligible to have an Alpha and me, ineligible to have one? If there was anybody who deserved Alpha Leo, I was the one. I was his first after all.
Bit, what did the moon goddess do? Instead of pairing me with Alpha Leo, she paired me with one of his guards. Of course, I rejected him on the spot. I still see him around, but he dare not come near me. I warned him never to.
"Ivy?" I heard a voice whisper my name. I looked up from the ground, where my eyes have been fixed on, for quite a while now and looked up.
There, I saw him.
Elijah, my ex-mate. The useless guard the moon goddess paired me with
When my eyes fell on him, the hate I always felt whenever I saw him, sprung up. He was not only poor. He was average looking. What was the moon goddess thinking? He does not deserve me one bit. Rejecting him was the best discussion. "Ivy, are you okay?"
At that moment, I noticed he was holding a bag. He brought out a plate of food from the bag he was holding and held it out. "This is my share of lunch. I brought it for you because I know you will be hungry."
I scoffed and then asked: "Why are you here? I can remember rejecting you, so what are you doing here?"
"You rejected me, but I still like you very much. I came here as soon as I heard what happened, I don't know why you did what you did, but I heard a fake warrior snitched on you."
1 clenched my fists.
Dean. That was his name. Dean was a spy that Sebastian had managed to plant in here to help me with my dirty deeds. He was able to bring Dean in here because of his parents connections and the spy turned out to be as incompetent as Sebastian. He must be the reason Leo suspected me of killing Ama and Rita
"So, where is he now?"
"He is in the dungeon too." Elijah gave me a sad look. I could see how much he pitied me.
DG
I cocked an eyebrow. I had to think of a way to use this
"Ivy, is it true you tried to kill the Luna?"
I frowned. Tried to kill the Luna? Wasn't she dead?
The Luna said you tried to poison her."
1 froze.
The dead could not talk. "Is the Luna alive?
"Yes, she is and she said you poisoned her drink."
ppity to my advantage.
Of course, I poisoned her wine. I saw her drink the wine. It was impossible to detect that someone who consumed shadowsting is poisoned, so there was no way she could have been given an antidote. How was she still alive?
