Chapter 120
ALPHA LEO'S POV
My life for a long time now has been filled with one big regret. And, that was taking my eyes off Athena when I was meant to look after her eighteen years ago.
Today was the first day I felt at peace with myself and I wished things could continue this way. Sadly, I knew it would go away soon even if I wished it would never, because the moment seemed perfect. My parents and Grandaunt Freya were all here with me. I had Emma too. Émma, in a short while has become my most favorite person and then there was Elaina.
My heart fell at the thought of her name. Things were really complicated in my life right now and the last thing I wanted was to drag someone else into it, especially if it was a nice she-wolf like Elaina.
My only goal at the moment was finding Athena. It was the only way I could be at peace with myself for a long time. Every single day, I wake up with the weight of losing my father's Beta and Aunt Janice's precious child and the bad feeling I get is just too much for me to handle.
This will be too burdensome for someone else, so I have decided to carry my burden myself and find Athena. After finding her, I can focus on other things in life. If I die while finding her, then, so be it. I was willing to pay the price of not living for myself.
I was pacing up and down my room now. My mind wandered back to when Emma had left Elaina and I. The fact that she was willing to risk everything to save her daughter made her more attractive. The thought of having her especially when it will come with making Emma my daughter officially was tempting.
I liked how her hands fitted perfectly into mine when I held them. Our mate's bond was destroyed. Yes, but my heart still fluttered whenever my eyes fell on her. To be sincere, I loved the feeling even if I did not want to have it.
I liked the fact that what I was feeling for her now had nothing to do with my wolf. Perhaps our former wolf bond contributed to what I was feeling for her now a little, but it was good to know that this was solely my feeling and not just a

But, I had to let go of everything. It was sad, but at least for now, I had to forget everything I was feeling for Elaina. I had to Bury every single thing.
It was hard though. Pulling away from her when we were about to kiss was the hardest decision I have ever made. And, as an Alpha, I have to make hard decisions every single day.
I quickly looked away from her, because I would have stopped myself if I had looked at her.
I sighed in frustration, picked up my phone and dialed a number- the same number I have been dialing for ages now.
"Hello," I greeted. "Any news about Athena?"
UNKNOWN POV
"Are they really back?"
"Yes, they are. They entered the pack a few days ago."
I took off my shades and the lad before me brought down his eyes. This was the only good thing about how I looked. It terrified humans and werewolves alike and I loved it. "You said the wolf I sent to the Alpha's mansion to poison him is dead, didn't you?"
wed,
"Yes, I did," He answered, his eyes still on the ground. His hand caught my eyes. They were trembling. I smirked.
"Young wolfm scaring you? Is there something to be scared of"

"I delivered your message to him like you asked me to," He said, his voice shaking. "The wolf's inability to carry out the assignment has nothing to do with me."
"Was that what I asked you?" I frowned.
"I'm sorry, sir. I am scared."
I raised an eyebrow. "So, I am a scary person. Do I look scary?"
He looked up at me and then looked away. Before he looked away, I caught the look of confusion in his face.
"You..." His voice trailed off. "You are powerful. It is very normal to get intimidated by you. Especially me, because who am I?"
"You are good with words," I pointed out. "Now, tell me. Now that the wolf you sent to kill that breed of a bitch is dead, what should you do next? Your job is to make sure the current Alpha is dead, so what are you planning to do next to make that possible." "I have not come up with something yet, but-"
He was interrupted by a loud noise of silver bullets leaving my gun and running through his heart.
Immediately the last word, 'but, left his mouth, he fell to the ground.
I blew the tip of my gun and frowned. "It's annoying. Now, I have to do it all by myself." I smirked. I was definitely going to make things a little interesting.
Doing this myself should be thrilling. After all, there was no fun in having revenge when it is not entirely my doing.
"I, Sebastian Salvatore, will teach Rita and Leo a lesson for trying to mess with me."
Escaping Leo and Rita's wrath was predestined and it was all in my favor. I was back and I had to do two things.
The first was to take back Noctis Umbra Pack.
The second was to get back at Rita and Leo for trying to make my life miserable.
