Reclaiming My Broken Luna

Chapter 205: Complete Family

Giselle's POV

"Is that it?!" I taunted Killian as we escaped from the scene to retreat to our room in their Pack's courtyard where all the guests were staying. "You just let her walk all over us?" I spat, my voice laced with venom. "Giselle, don't do this now in front of our child," Killian said, his voice calm, almost soothing as he tenderly carried his son in his arms.

My anger simmered like a volcanic eruption, ready to burst at Killian's unfazed expression.

Killian's unexpected surrender towards Astrid, siding with her instead of defending me and our child, felt like a betrayal, and Killian looked so fine with it.

Unable to contain my rage any longer, I grabbed Ryker from Killian's arms and handed him to his nanny, Rhya.

Killian looked at me in surprise. Finally, I have his full attention.

"Bring him back to our room and make him sleep," I ordered Rhya after taking Ryker in her arms.

Ryker's gaze darted back and forth from me and her father cluelessly as Rhya took him away.

When they were gone and Killian and I were left on our own, I finally faced him. "Now, can we finally talk?!" I thundered.

The air between us cackled with tension, now that we were finally left in private. "Giselle, there's no need to make a scene," Killian spoke with a measured voice. His calm demeanor was a stark contrast to my fury. "That wasn't a scene to you?" I roared angrily. "She disrespected me and she disrespected our Pack. Wasn't that a scene to you?"

"It's not a big deal, Giselle," Killian reasoned out and I scoffed in disbelief. "No one was hurt. There was no need to escalate the situation."

My heart hammered in my chest, a furious drumbeat against my ribs. "No one was hurt? Did you not see how Astrid's eyes gleamed with triumph when you easily surrendered to her and apologized after she insulted us?"

His words, though calm, were like a cold shower. "Giselle, we've been over this. Astrid is a valuable member of the Shadowfang Pack. Our Pack can't afford to provoke the Shadowfang Pack. Can we bear the consequences of angering their Alpha?"

"Are you sure that you did that for the Shadowfang Pack or for Astrid?" I questioned his intentions as my anger reached a boiling point. "She's a viper Killian! I'm sure she had planned this to drive a wedge between us."

Killian stared at me as if I had gone insane, but instead of getting angry at my words, he chose not to dwell on them. "That's enough, Giselle," his voice, though still calm, held a steely edge. "We're not going to discuss this right now."

I stared at him in disbelief. I couldn't take it anymore. The betrayal, the indifference, the way he so easily dismissed my feelings - it was too much.

Killian pinned me down with a heavy gaze, leaving me with no room for argument. Having no choice, I walked out on him with a grudge in my heart before I could say another word that I might regret.

Killian's reasoning was valid. Indeed, we can't provoke the Shadowfang Pack. However, I cannot remove my suspicions that he might have only done that because he still had hopes to be with Astrid. Still, as long as he doesn't break his promise, there's no point in arguing with him and make him hate me.

Now that I have become the Luna of the Shadowfang Pack, there's nothing for me to fear. Astrid can't possibly take back that position from me.

I marched out, not knowing where my feet was taking me. It's my first time here in the Shadowfang Pack, so I'm unfamiliar with the place.

As I wandered aimlessly, I stopped

on my tracks when I heard a bunch

of giggles. Curious to where that sound is coming from. I approached the bush and hid behind it.

Beneath a sprawling oak not far from where I was hiding, I saw a little girl spinning around with a radiant smile on her face.

Her arms were outstretched as she tried to catch the falling leaves, caused by a mischievous breeze that sent them tumbling down.

The girl looked so happy, her giggles were like a gentle melody to my ears which is why it really caught my attention.

"Stop spinning, Hazel, or you'll get dizzy," a woman spoke up, catching my attention.

I stilled when I recognized who the person was. It was Vanessa, Damien's wife and Luna.

My eyes landed on her huge belly, swollen pregnant. I gasped, my hand instinctively covered my mouth.

That child, that little girl... is she?—

"All right, we should go back," someone suddenly arrived interrupting them.

"Daddy!" the little girl yelled happily as she ran towards her father.

My body ran cold when Damien and I locked gazes with each other. H-he saw me. He saw me looking at them.

I stepped back like I was caught doing something forbidden.

Damien turned away as he pecked a kiss on the cheek of his pregnant wife. Seeing him with his daughter and with his pregnant wife, they looked like a happy family.

How couldn't they be happy?

Although Vanessa was mean to

everyone, she still is Damien's true

mate. Of course, they were meant to live happily together as a couple.

It doesn't matter if Damien didn't like her, the mate bond will always make up for the things that they lack.

"We should go inside. It's not good to be exposed to the wind too much or else you'll catch a cold." Damien spoke and then they listened to him and they started to leave.

Damien stopped and looked at me one last time. My breath hitched as I stared into his cold gaze that held warning to them.
