Chapter 70 How Did You Know Angela
At precisely five in the afternoon, Matthew arrived promptly to pick up Aurelia.
Shortly after, the duo reached the Quigley residence.

Upon learning of Aurelia’s inclusion in Norman’s team, Mabel couldn’t conceal her pride. “You’re truly

Turning to Matthew, Mabel exclaimed, “Matthew, just look at your wife, she’s truly remarkable!”
Matthew, in the midst of sipping water, paused at Mabel’s words. His gaze shifted to Aurelia, whose cheeks carried a faint blush, and he replied. “Indeed
Aurelia was taken aback by Matthew’s unexpected compliment.
In the past, he might have simply grunted in response or pretended not to hear.
It seemed that love had softened his demeanor toward everyone.
After sharing dinner with Mabel and enjoying an episode of a variety show together, they were sent home by Mabel, who insisted they return to Starry Se
Aurelia understood that Mabel wanted to play the matchmaker, hoping they could foster a closer relationship.
In the past, Aurelia might have played along as per their agreement, but now, she couldn’t shake the guilt she felt toward Angela.
During their journey back to Starry Sea Mansion, Aurelia handed an earring to Matthew. “Isn’t this Ms. Sanders‘ earring? I noticed it when we got out of car but didn’t get a chance to give it to you.”
Matthew furrowed his brow at the sight of the carring. “There’s no need to give it to me. Just throw it
away.
“Huh? But this is Ms. Sanders‘ earring, and it’s quite valuable. She’d surely be upset if she lost it,” Aurelia replied, taken aback by Matthew’s dismissive
“How did you come to know Angela?” Matthew inquired.
“That day, when we crossed paths on the road, I spotted Angela in your car. Being a host, she’s quite well- known,” Aurelia explained.
Why’s he so indifferent?
Since Angela had been mentioned, Aurelia felt compelled to broach the subject. “When should we proceed.
with the divorce?”
He’s not going to let the woman he loves be someone’s mistress for three years, right?
Matthew fixed his gaze on Aurelia. “What did you say?”

“Should we file for divorce?” Aurelia reiterated.

“You wish to terminate our agreement prematurely? Tell me, what’s your reason?” Matthew inquired, his expression grave.
Aurelia was taken aback. “I wasn’t aware of your romantic involvement with Ms. Sanders before this. Had I known. I wouldn’t have agreed to marry you.”
Some mistakes can’t be undone, but they can be mitigated if addressed promptly.
“Angela and I-” Matthew began, only to be interrupted by a sudden phone call.
“Where are you? I’ll be there in about ten minutes,” Matthew responded to the caller before hanging up.
Turning back to Aurelia, he continued, “I’ll explain everything when I return home tonight. Let’s put the divorce discussion on hold for now.”
“All right,” Aurelia said, understanding that the timing wasn’t right for such a conversation.
Matthew was probably concerned about Mabel’s well–being, fearing she might be devastated and fall ill if she found out about their divorce.
The next morning, at the Leedon residence, Gideon made one phone call after another, only to find himself either rejected or evaded.

pression turned grim.
Luna was anxious. “What happened to the company? Why is this crisis so sudden?”
Gideon’s expression remained tense as he scoffed at Luna. “It’s all because of your precious daughter!”
“Our daughter? Melanie has always been responsible and obedient. She couldn’t possibly cause trouble for our family,” Luna reflexively defended Melan

For the first time in over two decades, he was mistreated and regarded with disdain.
Countless lower–level executives from various companies dared to treat him with disrespect, which was ridiculous.
Blaming Aurelia for it all, he clenched his jaw in rage.
Luna was taken aback. “She didn’t seem like she was capable of doing something like that. Before she moved out, she was quite sensible. Why’d she ch
“Now’s not the time to think about that. Call her immediately. You must get her to come back no matter what, Gideon instructed, his tone firm.

Aurelia used to take charge of cooking for the family and offer assistance whenever anyone fell ill.
Reflecting on these memories, Luna suddenly questioned whether she had been too indifferent toward Aurelia in the past.
Benjamin furrowed his brow in contemplation before turning to Melanie, who had remained silent throughout the conversation. “Mel,” he began, “Could y

Observing Melanie’s half–awake state, Luna furrowed her brows in concern.
Phyllis was quite surprised when she received a call from Melanie.
As Melanie explained the purpose of her call, Phyllis was disheartened.
It seemed Melanie would only reach out when she needed something.
“Aunt Phyllis, I’m begging you. My mother is gravely ill, and she desperately wishes to see Aurelia now. Despite any misunderstandings between us, the

Phyllis could only sigh heavily. “Very well.”
Meanwhile, Aurelia received Phyllis‘ call just as she entered the Gardner Group Building.
“Auri, the decision is yours. I won’t pressure you,” Phyllis assured Aurelia.
Luna, after all, was Aurelia’s biological mother. If Luna’s illness was indeed severe, it wouldn’t hurt for Aurelia to pay her a visit. At the very least, she wouldn’t regret it later on.
After ending the call, Aurelia took a few moments to contemplate.
Luna’s severely ill?
She couldn’t recall Luna falling ill around this time in her past life.

Could it be that her reincarnation had altered the course of many people’s lives?
