Chapter 43 What Can You Do to Us?
Eileen’s frown deepened as she looked at the scattered rice on the ground.
What’s Elm up to now…
“Elm, what are you doing?” Eileen complained, attempting to pick up the lunchbox from the ground.
Before she could grasp it firmly, Elm kicked it again, causing the lunchbox to fall once more.
Elm then grabbed Eileen’s collar from behind and lifted her up, forcefully pressing her against the wall. His hand on her neck tightened, and he demanded, “What the hell did you talk about behind me?”
Eileen’s back was pressed against the corner of the window sill, causing some discomfort, but she kept her cool gaze on Elm. “What do you want to say?”
Elm’s
eyes were colder than ice, and he replied, “Vera was beaten up because of that mouth of yours, and now she’s in the hospital. You claimed she’s your sister. Is this how you treat your sister, Eileen?”
“If you have something to say, say it to me directly. Don’t go around spreading rumors. behind her back!”
“If anything happens to Vera, I’ll make sure you regret it!”
Despite Elm’s tightening grip, Eileen remained composed. If it was not for the crowd, she believed Elm would strangle her to death.
She had faced much greater challenges in her life, and Elm’s immature threats did not scare her at all.
Moreover, having experienced death once before, she was not afraid of dying again.
Struggling to breathe under Elm’s grasp, Eileen managed to grab his hand and said, “Elm….. calm down!”
Albert intervened, saying, “That’s enough. Eileen is not stupid enough to harm Vera. They’re like family. There’s no need to accuse her.”
Eileen’s face turned red, and she felt the pain from Elm’s grip, pleading. “Elm… Elm… it hurts… let… let go!”
Albert stepped in, saying, “That’s enough, do you want to escalate the situation? Have you forgotten what happened to you last time?”

Elm’s hostility gradually subsided, but the coldness in his eyes remained. He finally let go of
Eileen.
Eileen covered her neck, coughing from the pressure she felt.
“Don’t think that having Jasper cover you means I won’t do anything to you!” Elm left at warning and stormed out of the room.
Jasper?
Does Elm know Jasper?!
Eileen wanted to ask for clarification, but after considering the situation, she decided to let it go for now. It wouldn’t be Swire to confront him in his current state of mind, driven by anger
towards Vera.
After taking a few deep breaths outside, Eileen felt better and straightened up. She thanked Albert. “Thank you.”
Albert just glanced at her and replied, “No problem.”
Charlie added, “You deserved it!”
With Vera being bullied by Elm and now herself, Eileen could not help but wonder what kind of revenge Eric might have planned for her.
The thought sent a chill down her spine.
Eileen’s mind immediately turned to Lany and the others. The only conflict she had was with them recently, and she could not think of anyone else.
In the women’s bathroom, the three girls were fixing their makeup, adjusting their bow ties, and curling their lips in satisfaction. Lany was humming a cheerful tune, seemingly pleased with herself.
Daniel exclaimed in surprise, “You seem to be in a good mood today!”
Lany lifted her skirt, giving a smug smile, “Not bad, not bad at all.”
Pearl chimed in, “Did you see the pictures I posted in the group?
Lany responded, “Yes, I saw them. I’m very satisfied. Keep up the good work, Pearlie.”
Pearl wiped off the excess lipstick from the corner of her mouth and said, I’ve been annoyed with Eileen for a long time. If it weren’t for the fact that her brother is still handsome, I would have had someone beat her up last time.”.
Lany propped herself up on the sink, looking intrigued, “You mean that cold and aloof handsome guy from the charity banquet? That’s her brother?”
Pearl nodded, “Yes, that’s the one. My dad told me he’s a minion raised by Will. I even tried to bribe him with money, but he didn’t want it. He even ignored me when I invited him for at drink.”
“He’s just a minion, who cares? Whatever!”
Daniel chimed in. “I heard that Eric cares more about Vera than Eileen. They were orphans who grew up together in an orphanage and used to scavenge for food together. But my dad warned me not to get close to Eric. He didn’t say why though.”
Daniel shrugged, “I saw Eric at the bar last time. He’s good-looking, but he looks a bit older. I prefer younger men!”
Lany’s interest was piqued by the mention of Eric. She loved a challenge and couldn’t resist. pursuing a man who seemed unattainable. “Do you think Eric will come after us after something happened to Vera?”
Pearl shrugged, “She’s just Vera. I don’t think Eric would dare to touch us. I’ve talked to my dad. If Will comes after him, my dad will handle it for me…”
Suddenly, the door of the toilet was kicked open, and Eileen stormed in, declaring, “I knew it was you who did it!”
The three girls looked over, and upon seeing Eileen, Lany twisted her hair playfully and. smirked, “Well, well, look who it is… Eileen, since you’ve overheard everything, that’s right…. we did it! We were the ones who got Vera beaten up. What can you do to us, Eileen?!”
Eileen ignored Lany’s threat and asked sternly. Do you want me to call the police or inform the teacher? Should I report this to your parents?”
Lany and the other two burst into mocking laughter, “Oh, we’re really scared!”
Without hesitation, Eileen took action. She stepped forward and swiftly delivered at
backhanded slap to Lany’s face. Before Lany could react, another slap followed, knocking her to the ground.
Lany was stunned and tried to regain her composure, “Eileen, how dare you hit me! Do you know who I am? You’re asking for trouble!”
Lany was furious, “What are you two waiting for? Pin her down!” she ordered Pearl and Daniel.
The girls tried to attack Eileen together, but she was agile and anticipated their moves, managing to kick both of them.
”
Eileen rolled up her sleeves, facing Lany again, and the fight ensued.
However, being outnumbered, Eileen was at a disadvantage. Despite her previous self- defense training, she was not strong enough to handle three opponents simultaneously. Soon, she found herself overwhelmed and injured, as her old wounds acted up again.
One disadvantage Eileen had was that she did not keep her fingernails long. Due to her interest in learning the piano, she had them trimmed short, which turned out to be at hindrance in the fight.
