A slave
Mia pov
After a week of staying here, and despite the fact that I was well taken care of, I was still not satisfied. Toshiba doesn't believe a word I say, and she's even attempting to have me removed from the kingdom. Despite the fact that I was told I was the luna, I have little hope of becoming Author's wife. Because of my residency, I have become fond of him, but Toshiba has ordered him to avoid crossing my path again.
My attention was drawn to the wolf children as they played; I couldn't believe that wolves existed in the first place. I was so engrossed in watching the children that I failed to notice Toshiba standing behind me until it was too late. She said to me, "You must be having a good time watching the youngsters play."
As soon as I looked back, I got to my feet.
She walks up to me and whispers in my ear, which I find really touching.
Now that you are going to stay here in my kingdom, I believe it is appropriate that you show me some courtesy by showing some respect.
In her eyes, I can see how much she has changed over the last few months.
Different dialects are used by each of other queen Toshiba, I understand that you despise me, but that is not the case. I will refer to you as what you want because I will be staying in your kingdom, but I beg you not to let your dislike of me influence your actions. Take a deep breath, I understand that I and my mother have treated you horribly, and that everything you are going through is as a result of our actions, but please, I implore you, do not use my evilness to justify your current actions...
You speak with such passion, Mia, she said. I don't care how I change my ways. All I know is that, if you truly have a heart like this, why didn't you realize it before, and the part where your mother wants to kill you is still a mystery. You're familiar with Author now, right? But the son you tried to kill has pleaded for your safety and asked that you remain in the kingdom. I have never liked you and I have no plans to change my mind. Listen, Mia, time does tell when one's faith and destiny are meant to be together, and you know why that in this case: it is because I will never allow you and my son to be in a relationship with each other!
I stare at Toshiba and as I was walking away from her she grabs my hands and drags me back.
You are aware of when a queen speaks to you; you must respect her as you would your mother; and remember that this place is mine, and I cannot let you become a part of its inhabitants.
My kid is my priority, but I will never allow him to become a part of your life. Please keep in mind that if you really want to stay here, you will have to do exactly as I say, which means you will have to follow every instruction I give you.
I wonder whether Toshiba was serious about what she was saying; I know she would never like me no matter what, and I know her son might not like me either, so maybe it's just a game of cat and mouse after all... The whole thing was brought to my attention by Lydia, and now they want to turn me into a slave. Should I just go back and face death instead, as I have never been a slave before, and what kind of a mess have I gotten myself into is beyond comprehension. Then I smiled and replied, "I understand everything you want me to do. "I accept."
Well then I'm going to let you follow me around. And I'm going to show you a lot of stuff and tell you everything you need to do.
We get in a crowded area, and I observe how people move and stop what they were doing as Toshiba walks by.
I've brought someone with me today who will be joining you all, and I'd like you to teach her all she needs to know, and please let me know if she makes any mistakes.
She smiles and turns to the left, but not before she turns to face me and whispers something to me.
Enjoy your life, and I hope you are able to work and clean the dishes as well as you should.
Looking around, I try not to show my weakness, I start walking and try not to be a jerk, I know she might not like me right now, but I am confident that soon I will demonstrate to her that no matter what happens, she will not be able to keep me down for very long,
The lady Lydia approached me while I was focused on my task.
Just go home, I don't believe this place is designed for you. I know that you are putting forth considerable effort to ensure that everything runs properly, and I also warned you that they would never accept you. Now you see where your doubts have led you.
With a phony smile, I stare at her.
You need not be concerned Lydia, because I am well aware that my life is in danger, and I am confident that I will overcome any obstacle that comes my way. So why don't you return to your room, since I believe the queen will be waiting for you, if that is what you prefer?
Well, if you want to continue to be a slave, then begin to be one; but, you will eventually run out on your own, without anyone forcing you to leave.
I noticed how she left and paused for a while to consider whether she was telling the truth; if she was, how would I know whether anything she said was true or a fabrication? I continue to work as a slave or whatever they call themselves, and all I can think about is how well my father and brother are doing.
