Chapter 254
[Are you done with work yet?]
No one but Amelia would be so casual with her.
Naomi chuckled. How rare of Amelia to send her a message instead of calling her, be it a video call or a regular one.
Naomi surmised that Amelia must have had some free time at the time or that she had suddenly thought of her, so she sent her a message.
Naomi opened her chat with Amelia and replied to her.
She then sent a message to Charles. When it was nearly five in the evening, Charles texted her that he was already at the old city walls. He would wait for her, and she could take her time. They were not in a rush.
Naomi quickly responded. She had just finished sending the message when Amelia called as if on cue.
Naomi smiled as she saw Amelia's name appear on her screen.
Amelia's voice rang out as she answered the phone. "Hello, how are you? Have you been very busy the last two days?" She could hear Amelia flipping through some pages—she was busy.
Naomi replied with a smile, "Not as busy as you."
"That's true. You're not as busy as me, but your ability to earn money is as good as mine. I have chosen the wrong field. If I had known earlier, I would have learned wood carving from your father. I would not have to work myself to death." Amelia grumbled. She could no longer take it.
Naomi knew that Amelia was just complaining. She was not serious about wood carving. She would not be able to do it since she did not have the patience.
Naomi said nothing to Amelia. She looked at the skies and smiled, saying, "It's time for dinner. Go have some food before continuing to work."
"I can eat and work at the same time."
Naomi was worried that Amelia was not eating regularly. She was concerned that Amelia was wreaking havoc on her body.
"It's fine. I'll finish up my work and then go and eat. By the way, how are you? Has Charles arrived yet?"
Naomi was surprised. She said, "You knew about Charles coming to Herland?"
"Of course! I was on a call with him a few days ago. He said he was heading to Herland to see you in two days. I just thought of it, so I called to see what was happening. Is he there yet?"
Naomi felt a little helpless. Amelia was always more concerned about her life than her own.
"Yes. He arrived at noon today."
Amelia smiled. "I knew it. How's it going? Are you two together?"
Naomi looked at the buildings and saw the old city walls in the distance. She guessed she would reach her destination in a few minutes. After all, they were only separated by the river. It would be a quick ride.
"No. I just finished work. I'm going to meet him now."
"Have fun, you two. Treat it like a blind date. You'll have feelings for each other eventually."
Before Naomi could respond, Amelia said, "Don't be apprehensive about this. Don't reject it. I'll feel sorry for the cupids if you don't take a chance on such a good man!"
Naomi chuckled when she heard what Amelia had said. The chauffeur kept looking at Naomi because of that.
"Fine, fine. I'll listen to your advice. You're right. Alright?"
"Of course! I'm not great at anything but my taste in men."
Naomi was speechless.
Amelia was with Sean. Naomi was not sure if that was a good thing or not.
"Alright, go have some food before you continue working. It'll only take a short while."
"Okay, okay. I will."
Naomi knew Amelia was dismissing her, but she could not do anything about it.
She was about to hang up when she heard Amelia say, "By the way!"
